What are you reading in December 2009?

Typhoon by Charles Cumming a spy novel
I have given up predicting my other reads. I have several books out of the library
I may try to start a Gathering Storm

Back to Fantasy.
Most likely I will start C.S. Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy, Book 1 - Black Sun Rising

I am also waiting for The Lady and the Unicorn to come in from the library. In the meantime, I am reading Princess Ben Being a Wholly Truthful Account of her Various Discoveries and Misadventures, Recounted to the Best of her Recollection, in Four Parts, which I am really bored with and yet reading anyway.

I have a whole stack of books to read, what I read next will really depend on my mood.

Happy Holidays!

Now I'm on The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Want to read before seeing the movie. It's pretty heart wrenching so far.
I'm also still reading The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks.

I don't get it. The Flame in the Bowl Unbinding the Stone and A Warrior Made don't seem to be on your list. How did that happen?

I would also recommend Remote Control.

After that, I'll need to get caught up on group reads.

The Gathering Storm - Robert Jordan / Brandon Sanderson
Under The Dome - Stephen King
Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
I've gotta start "A Song of Ice and Fire" and get up to date on WoT

After that I'm reading Nine Princes in Amber and The Algebraist for my science fiction book club.
I would like to read the Riyria Revelations, since there are so many good reviews, but I'm finding it difficult to get in Ontario without paying more for shipping then for the books.
I'm also hoping to get The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 4 for Christmas so I can finish that series this month.
If I get through all of these, I'll start the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony.

I definately recommend both.

But I also just got:
Dreamsongs Short Works Volume I

Dreamsongs Short Works Volume I"
Awesome! I loved that book....I still need to read the second one.

I still can't figure out what to read next...

Since I have a business trip with a short one hour flight (each way) today, I'm taking a couple of "small" paperbacks with me:

If neither of those appeal to me on the flight, I also have The Silmarillion as an audio book on my BlackBerry.

After I'm done with it, I'll probably read some local horror/ fantasy book. Or just my favorite Sherlock Holmes.

I loved Equal Rites! Granny is so cool!

You'll have to tell us if it's worth reading, once you're done. Amazon critic review was pretty harsh, but I've always wanted to read at least one of Clemens' fantasy novels because I've seen him speak so many times, though as James Rollins regarding his thrillers. (I'm not at all a thriller fan.)

Good you got as far as Pillars of Creation. Many didn't make it...

She was definitely the best part of the book, and I think Mr. Pratchett's favorite part of it as well. I looked into the character of Esk and I guess he never brings her back again, whereas Granny is a recurring character. Overall, the book was a little disjointed, but anything from Pratchett is funny and addicting.

After I finished Terry Goodkind's book couple days ago :)

Hey Elise...so glad you liked the book and Emerald Storm is done and to the editors -- on schedule for an April release ;-) BTW thanks for the great reviews.
Susan

The Unscratchables, Cornelius Kane
House of Suns, Alastair Reynolds
Transition, Iain Banks
Before the month's out, I should finish Whit, also by Banks, and (probably) S.M. Peters' Ghost Ocean.

Always love a Butcher - have you tried the debut Harry Connolly - very much like the Butcher books...Boneshaker is on my TBR list also will be interested in your thoughts.
