Synopsis:With the memory of her childhood gone, Brinna St. Pope is inducted in a top-secret military program, Project Lightning. Brinna hopes that this experience will be a chance to find herself, despite her missing past. To form amidst the ashes.

Plagued by recurring nightmares, Brinna discovers that her parents once roamed the halls of her new home. Now, Brinna has a new goal. To find out about her parents and what happened to them.

Along her journey, Brinna meets Caleb. Despite him being her unit liaison, Brinna is instantly attracted. However, Caleb is a superior. She has to decide if he is worth the effort and her time.

Captain Barnum, their commanding officer, orders Brinna to drop the issue of her parents. This order confuses Brinna and Caleb. She is sure that Captain Barnum knows more about their death. Together, they work to uncover the truth. What they don’t expect is the answer is closer than they think.

The City of Snow & Stars Cities of Wintenaeth Book One by S.D. Howard
The City of Snow & Stars: Cities of Wintenaeth Book One

My YA Christian Fantasy, The City of Snow & Stars, is now available on Amazon! It's my debut novel, and it incorporates tough topics that most Christan authors avoid, such as abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, and mental), human trafficking, and the question "Why does God let bad things happen?"

I share my story in the author's note of how I was sexually abused and how, through my constant asking "WHY?", God gave me an answer.

You can take a "Look inside" on Amazon at the author's note for free! https://amzn.to/3hlZKc3

Book Summary
“I won’t do it. Never.”

Trinia’s Gift is the ability to duplicate herself perfectly in mind and body yet, every time she uses it, she feels like she loses another piece of her soul. Her abusive and power-hungry father, Caderyn, wishes to exploit her gift to create an army that obeys his command and rebuild the Airgíd Empire that fell a thousand years before.

Going on the run, Trinia seeks out the aid of the kingdoms that destroyed her people. When things don’t go as planned, she’s forced into trusting a failed mage, a man of legend with a vendetta, and a talking wolf to help her reach her goal by making a promise she isn’t sure she can keep.

As she wrestles with the ghosts of her past trauma and new ones that keep piling up, Trinia begins to wonder where the justice is in it all, and whether she has what it takes to stop her father and save her people.

“Never say never, daughter. For never has a way of finding its way to fruition.”

The City of Snow & Stars, book one of the Cities of Wintenaeth series.

Kevin Albin | 36 comments Greetings to All,

I spent 25 years as a police officer working on a SWAT team and as a hostage negotiator. I then retrained as a mountain and jungle guide, and worked on conservation projects around the world for the next 17 years. The culmination of all that was Stonechild.

Where do we go to when we die? Imagine human consciousness embedded in the molecules of a statue. So, when the statues of London come to life, it is a spectacle like non other, and they come with a specific message, and an offer we cannot refuse.
As the world reels in this wonder of science and religion, Molly Hargreaves has other plans and she sets out to prove that things are not as they seem. Chased, captured and confined, Molly confronts the statues and her own fears. But who can she convince? The people are welcoming, the Government has succumbed, and the police try to act, but how do you shoot stone and metal? Be prepared to be run ragged around London on a mystery worthy of the great Sherlock Holmes.

Stonechild

Like to share with everyone about this series of 3 that I have, which is suitable for 10-20 years old depending on literacy level:

A group of friends who call themselves "the gang" (Disclaimer: not related to any TV show you may think of) grow from adolescents into young adults, as they navigate high school and the working world.

They encounter people who teach them what purpose and love really mean, when they lost their way.

Abhishek Verma | 1 comments Hi,

I am Abhishek Verma, and I am a first-time author and wanted to introduce myself and my book. My debut novel is Jero's Journey, which is a fantasy novel set against the backdrop of migration in Serengeti Africa. Following is a brief blurb around the same...

Jero is a curious wildebeest, whose dreams and questions are bigger than her tiny frame. But she has a plan - get selected to the council, lead the migration, and then take everyone on an adventure. A surprising twist of fate might just make her wish come true. And it would be nothing that she had expected.

Jero's journey is a relentless adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Serengeti, filled with encounters with ostriches, elephants, hippos, pythons, and many others along the way. On a journey where danger lurks at every turn in the form of prowling predators, deadly disease, and raging rivers, Jero will be faced with hard challenges and harder decisions. Will she be ready for it? Will she be able to lead her friends and her co-travellers? Will she be able to prove herself worthy?

This adventure is a story of friendship, courage, and growing up. Above all this is a story about finding your own path in a herd where every year, a million wildebeest take a thousand mile journey together.

The links to the book are available at

If you would be interested in knowing more about the book pls leave a comment. Look forward to hearing from you.

I have two books published in my "Glory: A Civil War Series" and soon-to-be a third. The first two are:

Sweet Glory

Train to Glory

Both include mystery/suspense, adventure, romance, and drama true to the times (some happy, some sobering). In Sweet Glory, my primary protagonist, Jana Brady, plays a woman soldier, nurse, and spy; in Train to Glory, she's asked by suffragists Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony to travel their lecture circuit speaking about her time in uniform to prove: Women ought to be granted the same rights to tackle anything a man can if they have a mind to it. Although the third book in the series (Gold, Guts and Glory) is soon-to-be published, the plot spins its own legend of lost Union treasuries and continues with Jana Brady hunting for it by request of President Andrew Johnson.

Kaitlyn Legaspi | 3 comments Hello everyone!

I just came out with my new book, Red Blood, a few weeks ago, and I'd love for a few people to review it. Here's the synopsis:

There are two kinds of people in this world: the bound and unbound. The unbound are born with unnatural, inhuman abilities. While having powers may come with its perks, to be unbound is to be cursed. Unbound individuals are treated as freaks, yet despite this, they hold the highest positions in the government: the Card Holders of the fifty-two domains.

When her domain's Card Holder dies, unbound seventeen-year-old Neela Blydes is forced to participate in a tournament to find the unbound most worthy of leading the Queen of Hearts Domain. But the tournament isn't as glorious as it seems. It's a tournament that herds unique unbound called Specialists into deadly combat, a tournament where winning by default is nonexistent and killing is permitted.

As Neela progresses through the rounds with her life on the line, she forges new alliances and encounters dangerous unbound adversaries. Among them is a white-haired man with crimson eyes.

Dangerously familiar crimson eyes.

If you're interested, don't hesitate to email me using kaitlynblegaspi@gmail.com! I'll send you a digital copy.

Thank you so much for reading!

Celestial is when an emotion angel comes of age, (16) and feels their emotion intensely for the first time and develops their powers. There are ten different types of emotion angels. The most common ones are the main emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, disgust. But there are other less common ones like surprise, fear, and annoyance. Love, grief, and frustration are the rarest and have stronger powers than most. Both Morgan's parents are love angels. Being a love angel is rare, but that doesn't stop her parents from becoming her personal matchmaker. A little while after, Morgan, her cousin Annie, Annie’s boyfriend Will, and Will’s asshole bestfriend Oliver, run into trouble with dark angels, and need to go save their friends. Will they discover what their true powers are along the way or will they lose everything trying to find them?

I’ve recently published my YA, coming-of-age novel, Caught Between Worlds and would appreciate receiving reviews. If you’re interested in something with a little different setting and a more penetrating exposition of that genre’s situation--which we all have faced--I encourage you to take a look. Here’s a brief description:

In the wilderness of culture conflict, maturation, and Alaska, three teenagers struggle to control their lives…

Catherine and Cal are starting their high school senior year in a small, isolated fishing town, and Paul is beginning his seventh-grade adventure. All must decide how to meet the many worlds of society and nature menacing their snug, routine lives.

But brewing conditions of events beyond their control force them to confront decisions that shatter their realms of familiarity and expected futures—problems with ethnic identity, love, and unforeseen disasters. In this setting, they are increasingly confronted by the world of the Outside—life elsewhere beyond home—which they know little about, and are torn between its appeal and their suspicion.

What is waiting for them after the school year ends, and how will they find answers to the pressing question, “Who am I?”

I will gift you an ebook copy from Amazon for quick delivery if you provide your name and email address. Thank you. Email: lpackerpubs@yahoo.com

Stefan Coleman | 65 comments Hello everyone :)

My name is Stefan Coleman, and I am an author, a graphic designer, and substitute teacher from the frozen wilderness of Alaska. After working on and off for about ten years, I am crazy excited that my book Red Horizon (Firebrand, Book #1) is finally done, and very glad that I'm almost done with book 2.

In a nutshell, Firebrand is a coming-of-age fantasy series about how ten friends looking for their own adventure discover that a long dead Dark Lord has returned after a thousand years, and that they're now tasked with uniting the nation to oppose him, as well as restore a shattered kingdom to a forgotten king. Through all the ups and downs of the characters, it is my hope that the reader can find hope in all their circumstances, no matter how terrible.

Red Horizon is about how said friends become a crew, save a young lord who crashed on their shore, get tossed in prison, make a few allies, and discover how they're the missing piece that a high lord needs.

I look forward to all my future readers discovering my world, and I hope you enjoy it.

K.T. Anglehart (ktanglehart) | 4 comments Hello,

I'm K.T. Anglehart, author of the YA urban fantasy novel The Wise One

The Wise One (The Scottish Scrolls, 1) by K.T. Anglehart

Mckenna’s never thought much of her nightmares, but on her seventeenth birthday, a vivid dream of burning at the stake awakens her dormant abilities, thrusting her into a world where faeries are real, spirits hold a grudge, and a High Priestess obsessed with a 16th-century prophecy is tracking her every move.

Now, her overprotective dads, Seán and Andre, are forced to tell her the truth—they know who her birth mother is, and her life is not the surrogate story she’s always been told. Abigail, Mckenna’s mom, is some sort of mystic, and Mckenna a Wise One.

Whatever the hell that means.

With the help of a persistent little wren and company of a newfound friend, Mckenna journeys to Ireland in search of her mother and real answers. Along the way, she learns to harness her innate magic and trust her intuition, as best she can anyway—Cillian, a kind and passionate delegate who crosses her path, is proving much harder to read.

Only her mother could truly help her halt her ill fate and prepare her for what’s to come…before she gives in to the darkness she knows is buried deep within.

Greetings Again After a Longtime.

I am still trying to find readers/reviewers for my historical fantasy book, The Forest of Allund. It is set in a world similar to ancient Greece of the 4th Century BCE.

Forest of Allund cover

In this first book, Alexio Sopholus returns home after ten years away at the Academy. When he returns, he soon finds his lands under attack by barbarians bent on domination of the kingdom. With the help of his large animal friends and others, he manages to initially fight off the invaders, but draws the suspicions and fears of his own leaders. Faced with death, destruction, and betrayal all around him, Alexio is forced to conclude that all the morality, philosophy, ethics, and behavior taught to him in school are all but useless when someone has you at the point of a sword. Then you must either fight, run, or die. Alexio wages war. It will be a war without pity, mercy, and against the laws of both gods and men. It will result in Alexio finding himself an outcast in his own land.

If interested, my email is wilburarron@outlook.com

I can provide copies of the book with the cover in docx format to whoever is interested.

Maura Pierlot (maurapierlot) | 2 comments Hi, I'm an Australian-American author-playwright new to Goodreads and trying to get my head around everything ;-) I write mainly children's and YA but recently also essays, memoir and non-fiction. My latest release (out 1 October) is Fragments: Journeys from Isolation to Connection. The book, aimed at children aged 12+ (but will also appeal to families and educators) explores a range of mental health issues faced by young people today – anxiety, depression, bullying, body dysmorphia, to name just a few. The work is adapted from my stage play of the same name and features eight interconnected monologues – imagined stories that have been informed by conversations with people with lived experience. Look forward to connecting with everyone. Interested reviewers, feel free to contact me!

Greetings, I am Wilbur Arron, engineer, scientist, historian, and author . I have written a trilogy of books set in a land similar to Ancient Greece. If you think Greek Mythology is just about:
A. Some big muscular guy wearing a bronze jockstrap,
B. Beating the crap out of monsters and bad guys,
C. Making it with the local princess,
D. Having the Gods look on in amusement.

Well you will not find these in my books. In my world, real people are face with real problems that tests their faith in the very moral foundation of their society. It forces people to do things that go against their very nature. It is a story about survival and exactly how far would you go to protect all that you care about.

These books are available for only $0.99 each and are on both Kindle and Nook. More details are on my webpage,

https://www.wilburarron.com.

Check it out, the webpage is at least free.

Hailey Sawyer | 732 comments Hello everyone! My name is Hailey Sawyer. Besides writing, some of my interests include coding, reading, and bowling.

Speaking of reading, a few of my favorite genres to read are horror, slice of life, romance, and coming of age.

I also have a debut novel coming out on November 10th, 2021 and I'm really excited about it. I also plan on self publishing it. Here's some information on it:

Title: Kenji and Yuki: A Japanese Tale

Genres: Romance, Coming of Age, Fiction

Target Demographic: Young Adults

Blurb: "Meet Yuki Sakamoto.

Sixteen, easily distracted, and a runaway. Coping with the loss of her grandma seems like a mountain she struggles to climb. She hasn’t even had the courage to visit the family grave she’s buried in.

After a series of misadventures, she meets another girl in an abandoned house one night.

That girl?

Kenjiro Furukawa.

Seventeen, wired when not on her meds, and resident of the house. The dark strikes fear into her heart. She has a nightlight in almost every room of the house.

As the days pass, their connection and feelings for each other strengthen through conversations, stories, and outings. But can these experiences help them rise above their struggles?
"

Thank you and have a nice day!

Hello S.E. Welcome to the group. Also, congrats on publishing your first novel! You must be so excited.

How long did it take you to write it? My debut novel, Kenji and Yuki: A Japanese Tale, is set to come out a little less than a month from now and it took me about four years to write.
