Echo That would be adorable. Gah, I cannot wait.

Out of curiosity, for those of you who pre-ordered? What edition did you get? The target short-stories, signed version or the normal pre-order?

The target pre-order

I was deciding between the target one and the signed edition, but I figured that more content was worth the extra cash. Plus, if I really want to I could always get it signed later.

Can't wait for the pre-order swag~
(I don't think I'll ever use it but it's nice to have swag)

Normal Preorder- Kindle edition.

If I really like the book and a convention comes near me, I'll order the hardcopy of the book, and get it signed since I don't mind having physical copy as well as a Kindle book.

I got the Kindle version as well. I'm too impatient to wait for the mail and sometimes the books are released a few hours early because of the East Coast vs. West time difference.

Katie Kristin wrote: "Katie wrote: "I got the Kindle version as well. I'm too impatient to wait for the mail and sometimes the books are released a few hours early because of the East Coast vs. West time difference. "

LOL, I never even thought about the East Coast advantage. You are right, though, it is faster, and I need every spare bit of time advantage I can and the movability of the kindle- was hoping I could take off work to spend some uninterrupted reading/spazzing out time but unfortunately as it is being released the first week of the month, I'll be unable to take off time until the following week, and I'm too impatient to wait that long. Oh well, there's always coffee.

message 1057: by Echo (new) - rated it 5 stars

Echo I'm torn between the signed and the extra short stories.

I would like the signed because their seems to be something 'special' about a signed copy. I have a signed copy from AGOS and it just feels ten times more intriguing and exciting. Its fun to collect them.
-- I don't get kindle editions because a) No Kindle and b) I'd rather have a hard copy that I can ruin with dog ears and c) the excitement of getting something in the mail.

On the other hand, depending on whose stories and when they take place--the extra short stories could be more interesting. If the character are Feyre-Rhysand I would buy it in an instant.
But I think it might be Lucien x Nesta or whoever ends up becoming Lucien's new love interest. And maybe even Elain.
I just wished we knew who the short stories were about!!!

Actually it's the West Coast that has the advantage. I live in Washington and I've sometimes been able to download books at 9 PM the day before the release because it's 12 AM on the East Coast.

Léna In france I can download at midnight the kindle tho it's still 6 pm in the East Coast and 3 pm in the West Coast. That's really cool. I guess other countries in the world can have it even earlier.

Léna Does anyone think that Rhys might release Feyre from the bargain at one point in the book ?

I would like to see her miss the Night court and Rhys whenever she comebacks from her week with Rhys.

message 1064: by Léna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Léna Maybe Rhys might let her go because he will not want her to be there just because of the bargain and he wants her to choose to be here by choice. Or make another bargain like you'll do this and I let you free.

I think it's Feyre with Tamlin, I don't want to get excited and than be disapointed if she is not with Rhys

message 1070: by Echo (new) - rated it 5 stars

Echo Yeah, I think it is Feyre and Tamlin.

It talks about 'where I'd been'. That could refer to night court.

The parts of 'what I was' and 'who I was' could be the abilities she discovers at night court.

I can very well see Feyre reuniting with Tamlin this way.

message 1071: by Katie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katie IDK, it seems too similar to the deal of Tamlin and Feyre, basically a sort of repeat if Rhysand lets Feyre go because he has feelings for her. I have a feeling that we are going to see Feyre go to the Night Court and return "home" to the Spring Court like she is supposed to (though I think that Rhys might find a way to extend it a bit the first time). Only for Feyre to feel that the Spring Court isn't where she needs to be, that she can't sit by while the war rages on and ignore her powers any more but needs to learn it. Eventually Feyre will choose the Night Court, but that deal will never technically go away.

If anything, if Rhysand and Feyre get together, I think that Feyre might end up making Rhysand have a contract with her for one week of his life every month for the rest of his life (Rhysand in that way would actually get the two weeks he originally asked her for).

TheBookie Ohh I really like the idea of her making a deal with Rhys. He'll be happy because he gets his original two weeks and Feyre for longer and she'll get to be more involved and feel like she belongs. It's obvious that Rhys an Feyre are the couple of this book and I'm just ecstatic to see the slow burning natural feeling love these two will have!

Side note does anybody else hope Tamlin and possibly Lucien will come to the night court at least once to "help" Feyre and realise she doesn't need it. And a fire night for the night court will send me into a fangirl frenzy. Maybe Tamiln will show up then and realise kind of what's going on between Feyre and Rhys.

message 1073: by Katie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katie @TheBookie16- LOL, I can see them fighting over who gets to chose their week first. It's been my headcannon forever. In a way, the deal Feyre has made is a bond going both ways and is the alternative version to Feyre and Tamlin's deal.

I can see Tamlin coming for Feyre and more than likely trying to kill Rhys to get her back; I really, really hope Lucien comes earlier on his own or with one of Feyre's sisters to rescue Feyre. I feel that they have become friends and he was so sorry that he was unable to get to Feyre sooner and may blame himself a little bit for the deal she had to make with Rhys. I also hope that Lucien sees Feyre doesn't need it and tries to convince Tamlin (and to not go along with his plans to get Feyre back). I concur, let there be a Fire night! I would rather though it be uninterrupted as we know what the Spring festival did to Tamlin as a high lord and who knows what a Fire Night would do to Rhys as the high lord of the Night Court.

Georgie Devereux I praying it's going to be the first chapter!

WinterRose Sadly, I think she'd call it a "present" or something if it was an early chapter rather than calling it an announcement. :( But we can always hope! Maybe it's TV show news?

TheBookie http://mashable.com/2016/03/31/superh...

I found out the news!!!!

Mashreads can exclusively reveal that Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman and Catwoman will each get their own young adult book starting in 2017.

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products has partnered with Random House Books for Young Readers to bring four of the most iconic characters to life.

Random House has brought on a super league of writers to do the characters justice, all of them New York Times bestselling authors. There's Leigh Bardugo (The Grisha Trilogy) on Wonder Woman, Marie Lu (The Young Elites) on Batman, Matt de la Peña (Mexican Whiteboy and The Living) on Superman, and Sarah J. Maas (The Thrones of Glass series) on Catwoman.

The books will be released in that order, starting with Wonder Woman in August 2017 — a month after the planned release of the Wonder Woman movie.

Random House says all four novels "will embrace themes of good vs. evil, coming-of-age romance, and superheroes from unexpected places who have the determination to achieve seemingly impossible dreams."

So even though it's not ACOMAF news this is still amazing. But I may be biased since I'm a comic book nerd!

A bit dissapointed it does not concern ACOMAF But really excited nonetheless about Sarah J Maaas writing a Catwoman character and Leigh Bardugo for Wonder woman. What a great idea :).

message 1079: by Liz (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liz C I know I'm in the minority here but I don't know how I can handle it if Tamlin's heart is broken by Feyre x Rhys. I absolutely love the first half of the book. The similarities between Tamlin and Feyre and how they both had this burden to look out for their families / people they were responsible for. They both are protectors of people and I don't think Feyre can leave that behind. One of my favorite scenes is when he picks her painting of the woods back home - that scene was so emotional to me.

I think she may fall for Rhys in the second book but I think in the third we'll see her going back to Tamlin ultimately. As much as I love the Hades / Persephone story too, lately I think it's a bit overused in YA fiction. And if she falls for Rhys at night court then it just seems like the same storyline with her and Tamlin - always falling for her captor. I'd like to see her go off on her own and do some real damage as a Fae and find herself. THEN head back and decide on the boys.

Can I also just throw out there how hot Tamlin x Rhys would be? :P I mean they have a history... haha

aqsa True- it could be either.

And wow- as much as I love all these snippets-- I really hope they release some funny/witty quotes/teasers too like, I don't wanna just cry reading the book.
Really hope there is some fun times and Feyre experiences a ton of happy/amusing moments at the Night Court as a part of her healing process.

message 1083: by Natalia (new) - rated it 3 stars

Natalia In order not to get disappointed, I'm going to assume it's Tamlin. So if it's really Tamlin, I won't get upset. But if it turns out to be a Rhys related quote, it will be an unexpected pleasant surprise.
Also, from my experience, all those quotes/teasers usually come from the beginning of a book, and at the start it's too early for Feyre to say those things about Rhysand.

message 1084: by Natalia (new) - rated it 3 stars

Natalia I mean, we know Feyre is going to accept her new feelings for Rhys, but I expect it to happen much, much later in the book.

I think it's because none of the quotes have been from Lucien or snarky statements from Rhys. They tend to have some of the funniest and wittiest quotes- though Feyre usually tends to have quite a few good one liners, I have a feeling if most of the quotes are from the beginning of the book and not playing off of Lucien or Rhys, she's not going to be in the mood to be her snippy/playful self.

@LizzyBerry- While I don't think Rhys x Tamlin were a thing, Rhys has some witty remarks regarding teaching Tamlin about women and Tamlin growling at him with Rhys telling him not while a woman is present in the scene where Rhys sees Tamlin after 49 years. I'm pretty sure Rhys would flirt with rocks but not Lucien so I'm betting there will be moments in the next book for shippers of all kinds when it comes to Rhys- though if there is ever a Lucien x Rhys shipper I'd love to meet them and shake their hand because I don't know how'd they could come up with subtext and scenarios for that couple.

Snippets are too much of a puzzle and torturous tbh because there is no context for anything; I really want six chapters released like with ACOTAR.

WinterRose You know, I'm leaning maybe toward Rhysand simply because Feyre is questioning this "love." Whereas with Tamlin, I feel like she knows how she feels and how he feels and doesn't have to WONDER. If this is a Rhysand teaser, it's definitely toward the end, after he helps her recover from the trauma.

But of course, it very well could be Tamlin. I won't be surprised if it is.

Though can we appreciate (and hate) how most of these snippets seem like they're about Tam or Rhys. It's infuriating. lol

message 1088: by Echo (new) - rated it 5 stars

Echo Hey guys! Remember that quote where Feyre kisses someone and we were speculating if there was something in between:

"I closed my eyes at the whisper of a kiss...And all around us, as if the world itself were indeed falling apart, stars rained down."

So now I'm pretty sure that there is something missing in between. A) SJM's writing style usually doesn't have ellipses.
B) More importantly...how could Feyre see the stars if her eyes were closed??? So my guess is that there is a lot more to the quote that we are missing...which makes it so much more exciting.

Fatima Bayram Guys in the preview tamlin says "there is no such thing as high lady" and they're not a high lord's equal, i think feyre will become rhysand's high lady, his equal, didn't persephone become queen of the underworld in the end?

message 1095: by aqsa (new) - rated it 3 stars

aqsa Thats exactly whats going to happen- or something similar to it. Kirkus's review alludes to it.

TheBookie I want all of the Spring Court to know and realise what an badass deadly Fae Feyre is and will be. And once she and Rhys grow closer they're kinda seen as the power couple who you don't want to cross. Hopefully after spending time with the Night Court they'll stop sheltering her. Also I have a feeling Lucien will be the one of the first to realise Rhys and Feyre's bond.

WinterRose Did anyone else think it was odd Feyre talked so calmly about Tamlin and Ianthe? Like she mentions it more than once how they'd be a smart match and she says it so...casually. Like she's not talking about "the love of her life" and another woman.

I think "high lord" is magical based. Like there's no high lady's because the power runs through the males. Which is why Tamlin became a high lord...he didn't choose it, it chose him or whatever. Maybe this is what shocked Rhysand--he saw that Feyre will become the first high lady because she'll have the same "high lord" powers, so to say.

And once she and Rhys grow closer they're kinda seen as the power couple who you don't want to cross

This is all I've ever wanted. <3

That's what I thought about. He saw her as a futur high Lady. I would be a little heartbroken if it reveals that he saw that and not the mate bond. I'm so intot this theory!

WinterRose Unless he saw her as the high lady of the night court alongside of him. :D

Regardless I still think they're mates. Especially that Feyre mentions she's not mated with Tamlin.
