I am rereading Anne Bishop's "black jewels" books. I love the characters, the premise of the books, her characters are always so well drawn. rereading a book you really love is like visiting an old friend. enjoyable, comfortable.

I am currently reading the hilarious Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man by, Fannie Flagg great southern fiction with laugh out loud moments!and currently listening to The Reversal by, Michael Connelly narrated by, Peter Giles its a good story but after having listened to his other Harry Bosch books on audio am a little disappointed they didn't have Len Cariou narrate the Harry parts of this book becaue Peter does a good job as Mickey Haller he is no Harry Bosch!

I liked the part where she came to the front door wrapped in cellophane and her husband barely noticed her.
Rick,Thank you for the welcome. I also liked Fried Green Tomatoes, both the film and the book. I am also enjoying this group so far. Thanks for the invite.
The opening scenes were what gripped me into the movie with the children on the train tracks. Didn't see that one coming.
I've heard a lot about the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa and was finally able to get The Iron King through my library. I'm about 100 pages in to it so far and really enjoying it.

That is a great scene!Daisy Fay should be made into a movie too its got some great laugh out loud moments to! I love southern fiction and don't know why I haven't read more by Fannie Flagg but I plan on fixing that think I will read everything by her this year!
Just finished "Crazy" by William Peter Blatty. different but enjoyable. a tiny paranormal twist with a strong hint given at the beginning of the story.

i'm reading la france au moyen age by claude gauvard which is excellent, a james patterson book on the side (forget the title but i's a good one), as well as some medieval chronicles. i like to mix it up a bit. i've got j g ballard's kingdom come waiting, i havent read that yet.
I just finished Worlds of Exile and Illusion: Three Complete Novels of the Hainish Series in One Volume--Rocannon's World; Planet of Exile; City of Illusions. The last story made it all worthwhile. I'm glad I decided to stick with this one.Still working on Kraken and still not loving this one. I also just started The Oracle of Stamboul and so far this one is really good.
I am so thrilled to now be reading Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution by, Michelle Moran I loved all her other books so glad to have a new one!
Reading Moments of Reprieve by Primo Levi. Has some touching memories of humanity from his Auschwitz imprisonment --- very moving.
Susie wrote: "I am so thrilled to now be reading Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution by, Michelle Moran I loved all her other books so glad to have a new one!"I just recently downloaded this one for my sony and hoping to get to it soon. Am curious to know how well you like it.

Now I'm reading "Ghosts of Belfast", the reason why? I lover Irish noir and have read all of Ken Bruen's book. I must admit I am reading very slowly as I am also doing the final proof on my crime novel "Beautiful, Naked & Dead."
I loved loved Green Fried Tomatoes. I am glad to see others who liked it too.
Finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle. I really enjoyed her writing and I'm processing it. I like writing that makes me want to process it. Starting The Painted Bird. I'm really looking forward to it. I might add finishing Cows to it. Normally, I can juggle books, but lately I've been wanting to focus on one book at a time.

Make sure to let me know Josh when your novel is to be published so I can announce it on James Mason!

I am reading Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr,ProphetSpy,The Feast of the Goat, andA Visit from the Goon Squad
Bonhoeffer, what a great man, what a great life. I am not sure I could have made his decisions but you never know when God puts something on one's heart what they will do.
About a third of the way through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I usually alternate between an indie book and traditional one. I've tired of hearing about this one so time to get after it. I like it.
I picked up Patterson's WITCH & WIZARD in the Harrah-Reno gift shop to read on the snow train back to
Sacramento yesterday..and am having trouble switching from "what I expect in a Patterson novel" to this YA story....but I'll keep plowing thru it! Liam www.terminalpolicy.com (Josh...I'm toying with the title ULSTER ULTIMATUM for my next thriller. Like it?)

Finished Burmese Days by George Orwell this morning (it was very interesting) Will be starting Outpost of Jupiter by Lester del Rey. Have moved my upstairs book, Strangers on a Train downstairs. Really enjoying it.

I did too Mark. My husband and I listened to all three on a trip. We loved them. Entertainment. A little of a wind bag but hey, it was good.

I'm reading the historical mysteryMist Over the Waterby Alys Clare because someone at the F2F mystery group that I attend recommended this author to me. This book is in the Alys Clare series that takes place in the reign of William Rufus, the successor of William the Conquerer. I'm interested in that time period and in the central character who is training to be a healer.
I'm reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde actually because Rick talked about it. I'm enjoying the mystery all over again. The two opposing personalities keep me in the book. It's a small Dover Thrift Edition (only 54 pages). Reading how Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Moreau, tampered with the unknown is probably what has scared our government away from funding stem cell research. You reckon? It's a thought.
Or George Bush not wanting research while he was in power. I agree with you on that one, Minnie. People don't want to delve in something they know nothing about, that is why they should become educated.
I love the Harry Dresden series. I am currently on White Knight and I am enjoying it. I have listened to the books on audio, read by James Marsters. He is an excellent reader for the series.
Started reading Villette by Charlotte Bronte. I re-discovered The Gutenberg Project and downloaded it from there. Very excited.
I put Kraken on hold for now. Maybe I'll finish it sometime.Started Clockwork Angel and enjoying this one even more than the Mortal Instrument series.

So far I'm finding it very hard to put down and I think that its even better than the Mortal Instrument series.
I'm also reading a YA novel. It's Raised by Wolvesby Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It's my last book for the current Urban Fantasy group challenge. So far I'm enjoying it. The teen POV character is great and I'm seeing some things in this book that I've never seen in a werewolf novel before, so there's a bit of originality.

Another group I'm in is doing City of Bones, the first volume of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy, as a common read for the month of March. So, I got an early start on that one yesterday.
