1) Stephen King's "It" (I've had people tell me they loved it)
2) Hm. Most books I read are series, but I'd love to see more books in the Alliance-Union story universe created by C.J. Cherryh. (particularly what happened to Mazian and his loyal fleet after Rimrunners, and 'why' he felt it a great idea to turn pirate against both sides?
3) Gosh. That's a long list, but a surefire go-to for me would be The Pern books. Or Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series (Velgarth series). I'd include Laurell K Hamilton for those who don't mind their fantasy a bit on the spicy side. (See. Series!) I do know one series I currently tend to re-read a lot - Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

1) The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Ugh. I hate it! No one will ever be able to convince me otherwise. I had to read it after several of my friends recommended it and said they loved it, but I did not enjoy it at all. I understand how it can be appealing and enjoyable for some people, but for me it just didn't cut it.
2) Mmh. I don't know. I can't think of anything right now.
3) I have a good chunk, but one that immediately comes to mind is one of my all-time favourite books: Wonder: The Art and Practice of Beatrice Blue

1.Share a book quote that has stayed with you.
Thats a hard one but I did like this one from Piranesi-Susanna Clarke
"Perhaps even people you like and admire immensely can make you see the World in ways you would rather not."
2. What's the last book that made you cry?

3. What's your favorite reading spot?
my bed of course 🤣🤣
4. Who is your all-time favorite author/authors?
Ooh so many new ones that I am coming across but my original loves are Richelle Mead Rachel Caine Patricia Briggs Ilona Andrews Nalini Singh Kelley Armstrong Laurell K. Hamilton
5. What's your most anticipated book release of the year?

Many more but I will stop at mid year
Bonus: Do you rate 5 stars easily or are you a hard critic? What kind of book is an automatic 5?
Books that would definitely re-read get an automatic 5. I try not to be too harsh as all really good books deserve a 4, good but not my fave is a 3, I really didn't like is 2 . I have never rated a book a 1 as I feel those should be DNF'd type books.

1. What's a book that everyone seems to love but you couldn't get into? These are typically Cozy mysteries. I do not enjoy these and have started to realize I should just stay away.
2. What's a book that you wish had a sequel? Wow so many but I am gonna go with

3. Share a book that you've re-read multiple times? Anything by my favorite authors but specifically

1. What's a book that you think should be turned into a movie?
2.. Do you have any reading rituals or habits?
3. Do you prefer to read indoors or outdoors? Say its perfect weather…..

1. The Fable duology. It’s a fantasy series about pirates and ships. I think it would be perfect to be made into a film. I am a huge fan of the pirates of the Caribbean films, and I think Fable would be fantastic as it would have the same type of atmosphere, albeit lacking when it comes to humour, as no one can replace Captain Jack Sparrow.
2. I keep a thorough reading journal, that includes time spent reading. Every time I start reading, I put on the stopwatch on my phone. At the end of each month and year, I can make statistics to see what my average time spent reading per day was.
3. Indoors. Always. I really want to be the kind of person that reads outside, but I’m such an anxious person and I never get to focus whenever I read outside, as I feel like there are so many distractions. Any intensity of wind, too much light, too little light, being cold, having to worry about sunscreen, or neighbours saying hi when they walk past the house.
4. Namesake, the second book in the Fable duology. Was the first one to pop into my mind as I just wrote about it haha
5. When people fold the top corner of the page to keep track of where they are in the book. I always carry an extra bookmark with me, so whenever I see anyone I know do that, I beg them not to do it and to please take my bookmark xD

I would love to see this in a movie

2.. Do you have any reading rituals or habits?
Ha, I do like to use a clicker on my kindle to turn pages and weirdly I prefer wearing my Apple headphones to block out all noise when I audio read or tandem read.
3. Do you prefer to read indoors or outdoors? Say its perfect weather…..
Even perfect weather it is too much to read outside.

1. What's a book that you think should be turned into a movie?
None! I can't think of anything I care to see on the big screen
2.. Do you have any reading rituals or habits?
Yeah, looking for books I want to read more than reading, lol. Other than that, nope. I just read whenever and wherever. I have a book journal that has not been cracked open since February.
3. Do you prefer to read indoors or outdoors? Say its perfect weather…..
I love the idea of reading outdoors, but it never happens.
4. Share a book that you read in one sitting.
Loved Margo. She is near and dear to my heart.
5. Share a bookish pet peeve of yours.
The portmanteau "Romantasy". Hate it. It annoys me. It also peeves me when every book is touted to be the next "whatever is popular." I get that it's just really easy to say "If you like that book, you'll like this one" as a marketing tool, but no, not every psychological thriller written by and about women is the next Gone Girl. Sometimes they aren't even remotely similar, sometimes they're even better, sometimes worse.

TBR jars as a pet peeve cracks me up for some reason. I guess because it's such a random, unexpected peeve. :D

1. What's a book that everyone seems to love but you couldn't get into?
ACOTAR. I'm sure there are others but that's the only one coming to me at the moment.
2. What's a book that you wish had a sequel?
I'm saying this not remembering anything about the book's ending because I read it so long ago. But, if it ended on a positive note, I'd love to know what that boy (man) is up to all these years later. I'll be reading it again in June, so we'll see if my feelings change after that!
3. Share a book that you've re-read multiple times.
I read it multiple times a year for about 7 years from like ages 13-19/20. Then a few more times since. It's just one of my favorite books and possibly the one I can think of when people ask "what book had an impact on you/your life?" The characters have stayed with me for decades, the book made me want to write and share stories and inspired me to write a novel when I was about 16. I'm sure it sucks, but that's beside the point. It was written for myself and my best friend and she loved it so that's all that matters.

1.Share a book quote that has stayed with you.
The opening line from The Outsiders.
"When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home." I could just picture the scene, the bright sunlight blinding Ponyboy after he'd been in that dark theater for a couple of hours, the image of a young Paul Newman, then later, thinking about how everything would have been different if he'd had that ride home. (But then the book would not exist, so...)
2. What's the last book that made you cry?
Can't remember. I cried my heart out for the final 50 pages of
. That was over 10 years ago but it stands out in my memory. I re-read certain parts just to torture myself at the time. Went through half a box of tissues.
3. What's your favorite reading spot?
Chaise lounge or bed, so I can stretch out. Otherwise, I'm happy to read anywhere!
4. Who is your all-time favorite author/authors?
S. E. Hinton, Nora Roberts, Robert McCammon, Karin Slaughter... lots of others.
5. What's your most anticipated book release of the year?
Hmmm right now it's the upcoming Karin Slaughter I forgot the name of. It's a new series ... or stand alone? I forget!
Bonus: Do you rate 5 stars easily or are you a hard critic? What kind of book is an automatic 5?
I'm not a very critical reader! The most critical I get is during my book club meetings because I'm actually sitting there discussing the book and I'm able to really dissect how it made me feel or how the writing was, or what the plot holes were, if any. If a book made me feel good while reading it, it gets 4-5 stars. If I had some eye roll moments, a 5 turns into a 4. If it really sucked, it gets 1 star, but I'm still not the most critical about 1 star reads. I usually can't articulate my issues with the book, other than "That sucked/was so dumb/irritated me". Most of my "meh" reads will get 3 stars if the writing itself was good, just not so greatly executed, or if it dragged a bit in the middle.

The portmanteau "Romantasy".
Thank goodness I'm not the only one! The "word" makes me physically cringe.
I am desperately in need of a new copy of Kushiel's Dart, as I've read it so many times it's starting to come apart. But the paperback copy currently available in the UK has "romantasy" printed on the front cover and I refuse to let it into my house (ridiculous too, because it doesn't even fit the genre!) 😆

I have an irrational hatred for the "word", lol.
And that is a GROSS miscarriage of justice that they've printed that tripe on that book!!! I read it a long time ago and don't remember much now, but ugh... it is NOT "ROMANTASY" *GAG*. It's worthy of much more than that lazy "booktok" invented mash-up.
Okay, I've had my rant, lol. I promise, people can have nice things and people can enjoy things, but there are just some peeves that make me want to throw things, lol.

There's a reason I avoid booktok like the plague. They throw about horrible words like that, and so many of the books on there are sooooo bad!

So very true, and I tend to bear that in mind when I read a book.
2. The Dark Tower - darn you King!!
3. Right now at my desk, as it's my only reading spot. ask me again after I've moved 😆
4. Historically (so have been favourites for decades): Bernard Cornwell, Dave Duncan, Larry Niven, Jacqueline Carey, Robert A. Heinlein, Stephen King, Terry Pratchett
More recent additions (past 6 years or so): Jodi Taylor, Robert McCammon, Dennis E. Taylor, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Blake Crouch
5. Don't really have one!
Bonus: My 5 stars are definitely rare!! I think I've given out 2 new ones (so not re-reads) so far this year! Out of probably about 140 or so first time reads.
