My magic number is 80. I'm always telling my husband if I don't make 80, I'll feel ripped off. Both my grandmothers lived to 96 and 97 so I live in hope!
Greetings from Doha! On my way with my sister to our Eastern Europe adventure. I finished on 10 April . Anobleman’s guide to seducing a Scoundrel. For Red 9. Could someone mark it read on the spreadsheet. 🥰

I finished my blue 9 which became a bit of a slog, and also another book which i started thinking it was a different book of the same name 🤣 It was also not fabulous.Currently reading
for my RL bookclub. I thought it would be difficult and triggering, but she is actually very funny (I didn't know of her before this) and is tackling a tough topic in an accessible way.
Current StatusPlease shout out if you can't do your coloured card, or if I have recorded these incorrectly.
We also need 6 x reverse books

I'm currently reading two reverse cards but I can't stand the heroine of one of them so I might go back to the drawing board. But I'll have the other finished soon,Anyone read M/M? I'm getting burned out on Cozy Mysteries. But I'll keep looking in your folders.
I also finished my green 5 the lady and the unicorn on 11 April. Please mark as read on spreadsheet. thanks!
I can do a reverse or two. And I'll definitely be reading my coloured cards, just waiting for BOMs to start and suchlike 😉

Provided they work for the mini in some way, I'll do
 (read by Namita) and
(Read by Lauri)I have more should they be needed, but I'm definitely in the mood for a little Agatha! 😁
Lisa - (Aussie Girl) wrote: "I also finished my green 5 the lady and the unicorn on 11 April. Please mark as read on spreadsheet. thanks!"
Added, thanks!
Sammy wrote: "If we still need that overload, I also have
which is about as grey as it gets..."Sounds good!
      Scratch that, I'll do

for the overload, because I need a book tagged 'Family' for another challenge 😁

I also just read another book with UNO in it 😆
It wasn't awful, but not really for me. I only buy Holly Hepburn books because of the covers! 😂
Lauri wrote: "I have a reverse Legends & Lattes which was read by Sophie…
And I’m almost done with my blue cover!
"Added it in!

Such a rarity to have UNO in book. But who knows if we'll need it in a future uno challenge haha
      I swapped out

 for

to get more letter options. It works for the 9 red too My 2 yellow is done as well
Tina ❣ wrote: "Such a rarity to have UNO in book. But who knows if we'll need it in a future uno challenge haha"I'm making a note of it in my tracking SS, just in case! 😆
      Tasks I can cover with my immediately planned books:11, 16, 18, 24, 26, 32, 40
Will see about what else once folk have grabbed what they want. I suspect I'll be able to find something for any of them though.
Hi all . You can put me down for no 4 . The Medic. Where the light enters - MC Sophie Savard is a doctor.
The book is on the spreadsheet.,
I’m currently in the Italian lakes town of Stresa, Lake Maggiore. Gorgeous even in the rain. Hoping the weather does improve for Lake Como at the end of the week!
I've added 4 to the mini task box for you Lisa (we don't have the SS sheet for it yet).Sounds gorgeous. I may be a smidge jealous. Haven't been on holiday in years, and I can really use one!
      Minis for me: 2, 9, 19, 22, 29, 36, 39,
any of the ones in section 5.
I'm sure I'll be reading books that will fit some of the other categories, too, if needed.
So, speaking of travels... I must live vicariously through the interwebs. So, if money weren't an issue, what would be an absolute must-visit location?Hawaii is near the top of my list (if I ever get there, I'll need recs for stuff to do Lauri, lol), and I absolutely 100% need to go to the Grand Ole Opry, so a visit to Nashville is a must (preferably before the last of my country heroes pop their clogs! 😂)
Hubby is desperate to visit Iceland. We were going to go this summer, but then the whole moving house thing started happening, so we can't afford it for the foreseeable 😟
I'd go visit you lot in Aus, but I've planned to go 3 times now and each time got cancelled, so I daren't make plans for that! 😂
The Galapagos is highest on my list since it's being destroyed and it has such an important place in history. Plus it's supposed to be absolutely beautiful. So you get the beach vacation and history and culture and wildlife all at the same time. I've been to the Caribbean, India, Zimbabwe, Botswana, much of Canada, and all over the U.S. including Alaska and I was blown away by them all.
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a must-see.
Other places include Banff, Canada which is so beautiful, and Dharamshala, India, where the Dali Lama lives in the foothills of the Himalayas is breathtaking. My mother has been to Antarctica twice and the pictures are amazing. Alaska and in particular Seward isn't as extreme but it's incredibly beautiful. When I was younger I wanted to live there. The Badlands, Rockies, and Niagara Falls are all spectacular.
But I have to say that the Pacific Northwest, the area around Seattle and Vancouver, Canada is one of the most beautiful places in the world with access to the ocean, snowy mountains on both sides, other waterways, like rivers and lakes, and so forth all within an hour or two (or fifteen minutes depending on what you want), The wildlife is amazing. There isn't as much history here, though.
But I'm biased. ;)
Mini: Part 4I'll take 6 - there is a book I finally am going to start. It's been waiting to be read.
Ok mini tab is now on tracking sheet and I have added everyone's names to the task numbers as above ;)

That is such a big question, Sammy! And all of those places sound amazing, Kelly.
I've never been to Sri Lanka which is on my 'one day' list. From a historical perspective Libya and Egypt have always fascinated me but I can't imagine going there.
I feel most at home in SE Asia and because it is so close to us (only about 9 hours on a plane) that has been our go-to since having kids. I intend to live over there from May-August each year once the kids are adults so I can escape winter here. My husband thinks I'm joking (I'm not 🤣)
We were going to go to the US next year and do the whole Florida - Disney, cape Canaveral etc. but we have decided it is not worth the stress of travelling into the US right now. Maybe after the next election. So we are going to plan Japan instead and Tokyo Disney. The kids and I have been learning Japanese since Jan so we should have a pretty good grasp of it by the time we go (Sept/Oct next year)
Learning Japanese? That's so hard. Way to go!Yes, travelling here to the US is a bad idea right now. It's dicey.
"Only" nine hours does not seem close!
The dates next to my books on the spreadsheet disappeared. I assume it was an accident but if I did something wrong, please let me know. I'm just going to put them back.

Everybody wants to come to Hawaii, while we just want to LEAVE!!Ha! I was born & raised here, but I’m going to need to move away in order to retire. We’ll never own a home. So sad, but true. It is very expensive to live here. Figure between $900,000 to a million for a very average house in a so-so neighborhood. You can’t walk out of a grocery store without dropping $200…
We get what we call ‘Rock Fever.” It’s an overwhelming desire to fly anywhere! I haven’t left since 2023. We went to Vegas. It’s actually cheaper to go to Vegas than visit another island! We’re going to the Big Island this weekend for a birthday celebration… just exchanging one rock for another!

ok, I need to visit all of these places! To be fair, I want to visit everywhere (but will probably leave North Korea and a couple of other choice locations until last! 😆)
The closest I've come to a holiday post-covid, was a trip to Oman to scatter my geologist grandfather's ashes in the Wahiba sands in 2022. An incredible experience, but not exactly the fun, relaxing thing that makes for an actual holiday!
Pre-covid our trips away consisted of a few days at the seaside 90 minutes drive away every other year or so. Hopefully once the moving house thing is done with, we can start saving for some relaxation time again!
Good luck with the Japanese Karen! It's apparently quite easy to learn to speak (my daughter taught herself as a teen!), but nigh impossible to learn to read and write unless you're born to it.Bet it'll be so much fun!

I added it. 9 categories? Wow!
Oh! I Forgot to mention my actual travel bucket list!In no particular order:
Australia
Tahiti
Italy
Spain
(OK let’s just say Europe in general)
New Zealand
Ireland
And my absolute dream is an Alaskan cruise! I’d probably enjoy cruising to anywhere! I’ve never been out of the US except for Mexico when I was little…. Don’t even have a passport!
Someday…..
My passport is expired since I haven't been able to travel out of the country except to Canada, since I've had kids. But I have an appointment this month. I just want to be able to leave at a moment's notice.

I love learning languages so I find it really enjoyable. The most difficult part of japanese is the 3 written languages.!

lol
oh no!
I've only ever been through the airport but it is on the "one day" list to stop there on the way to US.
Sometime after Jan 2029.... lol

Yes I agree the speaking is easier. But I am enjoying the challenge of the written form and translating from Kanji into Hiragana, for example, is kind of fun in a weird way lol

Yes, after 2029 if there still is a democratic US then.
I'm trying to learn Spanish with DuoLingo and I have found that I suck at languages. It should be so easy for English speakers but the various verbs with the gender and so forth keep me from doing at all well even though I have 362 days straight of logging in and doing something!
I speak Spanish! I am by no means fluent, but I took 6 years of Spanish in school! All my friends took Japanese, but I did not want to learn a different writing system! I can actually read & write in Spanish, but I’m not quick enough to think in it. I understand almost everything. We lived next door to a Nicaraguan guy for 13 years. Hoo boy! The things I heard! I finally told him I understood him & he sure cleaned up his act fast!

Don’t get me wrong. Hawaii is very beautiful. If y’all come, just bring a bunch of money. The best thing on any island is the beach. If you can’t take the sun, don’t come! We’re the only US state with a royal palace. In fact, we have 3 of them on 2 islands. The Polynesian Cultural Center is amazing. We have the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor & the Bishop Museum. Lots of amazing restaurants & music venues, hiking trails if you like that kind of stuff. Kualoa Ranch with horseback riding, RVing, tours, water sports - - it’s where they filmed Jurassic Park & hundreds of other movies…
Of course there’s Haleakala on Maui & the very active Kilauea volcano on the Big Island. There’s a lot to see and do! Just pricey$$$
We’re going to the Big Island this weekend for a cousin’s b-day party. I will be incommunicado from Saturday to Monday evening because there’s no wi-fi & spotty cell service. Still fun, though!

I agree. Her partner said her "condition" deteriorated which kind of sounds like cancer to me rather than "old age..."
Yes it is very young.
I don’t have great genes but I still hope to make it well past 70
