Also, if you don't happen to finish your books this round we can always use them next round :)

Remember that books can be started before the next round.
When you get a chance please let us know once you're done with all the books you think you'll finish in round 1 (I am most likely done for this round).

Every time!

- Administrative mini: coffee table/quilt
- Gardening mini: piano/violin
- Feeding the Family mini: vinegar/lobster

Thanks Christina. I was late from work yesterday and I was just about to check the spreadsheet. I won't be finishing Way of Kings today but most likely for tomorrow. Since I have my laptop now, I will be more regular in updating the spreadsheet from next round onwards.

We're all done now :) I believe there's only one of your books that we didn't end up using

Thanks!

Cover color: When checking on TinEye, make sure you uncheck the "exclude background color from extracted colors" box!
Word in the text tasks: Please give us the page/percentage/location/chapter and a part of the sentence the word is being used in!
Clarification from the mods for the PRUNE task: "the word must be an entirely different word from the original, and from only one cut. Example: from GARDENING you can't make GARDEN (it's the same word) nor DEN (would need two cuts)"

Hmmmmm to me pumpkin, lamb, and corn seem to be the least common ones out of these

Yep for sure! I'm doing it for piano in Ansichten eines Clowns :)

The minis are for Round 2 to the end of the challenge.

Taking a break today as I am recovering from finishing the book yesterday. The ending both was fantastic but also missed/disappointed me a little. A little difficult to find the next read to follow this...

The threads for November's BOM discussions are up!
2 Nov: The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst - thread
16 Nov: The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie - thread

If you're planning on picking up these reads, feel free to volunteer to write DQs :) if you're intimidated by the prospect of doing that, don't be!! It might seem scary but it's always super fun - and we can always workshop the questions together as a team!

(And yes I've not been getting notifs AGAIN)

Unfortunately no :(

It was a fantastic read. And the best thing is with the latest book, I heard the first arc will be completed. The author is reliable. Unlike say, Rothfuss, where everybody has kind of given up on the third book. Such a pity as I've heard great reviews on the first two in the trilogy.

Yep so true! In Sanderson we trust... I've read Name of the Wind and I liked the first book but didn't like the second one much (if there's one thing I loathe it's faeries, and unfortunately that book was about them quite a bit)
And let's not even get started on Game of Thrones 😅

This will be The Secret History by Donna Tartt, starting on 22 November. The thread is here! Same rules as for usual BOMs, so a great opportunity to collect some bonus points 😉

I know I could solve this problem by nominating books and I do think about it every month but then... I have commitment issues anyway, I don't want to make others read something I don't even know I want to pick up at that specific time myself...
