SPRING SEASONAL CHALLENGE

Spring is here (thank goodness!) and we are watching for new growth and new opportunities as the weather improves.

But you know the saying... April Showers. And April showers come with rainbows! So this quarter, you're doing a cover color challenge for all of the colors of the rainbow.

How you choose to define it is up to you. You can challenge yourself and use books that fit the color with the majority of the cover, or you can count any book that has that color on it, no matter how big or how small.

For example, both of these could count for RED:
Yours Truly (Part of Your World, #2) by Abby Jimenez and I'm Not Dying with You Tonight by Kimberly Jones

This challenge will run from March 1, 2024-May 31, 2024.

Feel free to copy and paste this into your own tracking thread in this folder:

SPRING RAINBOW CHALLENGE

ORANGE:
YELLOW:
GREEN:
BLUE:
PURPLE:
WHITE:

And if you want a bit of a bonus challenge, try to find titles that start with a letter in these words:

RAINBOW
SHOWER
SPRING
COLORFUL
GROWTH

I am thinking there could be other ways to do this than color of cover. For instance, the title has one of the words in it, or something about the word/color is important to the story. (Like searching for gold or getting to wear royal purple)

Can you do one or two of the words, rather than all five?

Robin P wrote: "I am thinking there could be other ways to do this than color of cover. For instance, the title has one of the words in it, or something about the word/color is important to the story. (Like search..."

That sounds great, too - I already have a green and a gold title in my immediate TBR.

You can approach this challenge however you want! For some people, 17 books is a breeze. For others, they may want to try to knock out 5 or 7 or the first 12 but not the challenge. Totally up to you.

Robin, the intent is that it is a cover color challenge, but, like I said, approach it however you'd like!

The first question was a misread on my part - for some reason I read it as spell-it-out for the five words, not just a "title starting with ONE of the letters". Doh.

Nike | 1598 comments Can I switch colour Gold to colour pink? Pink wasn't mentioned (and is easier to find).

message 15: by Yesica (new)

Yesica (yesster) | 35 comments what would be "5+ COLORS"? 5 additional colors? A cover with 5 colors?... not sure what you mean...

message 16: by Gloria (new)

Gloria | 14 comments I think it means more than 5 colors on the cover

message 17: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11183 comments Mod
Nike, totally your call. I would just make sure you indicate that you used Pink instead of Gold when you're tracking your reads so other people know (in case they are looking for recommendations).

Yesica, Gloria had it correct. It means that there are at least 5 different colors on one cover.
