Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent by Judi Dench and Brendan O'HeaThis book is based on interviews Brendan O'Hea did with Judi Dench - about Dench's long career playing roles in Shakespeare plays.
The book is informative and delightful. 4.5 stars

A Stranger in the Family by Jane Casey ⭐⭐⭐⭐.4 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
For those who like Aussie mysteries set in small rural towns
Broken Bay by Margaret Hickey is #3 in her excellent series featuring detective Mark Ariti. review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Poor old Harry Bosch. Alone again in Trunk Music, but at least Michael Connelly has given him plenty of action to keep him busy. An L.A. murder leads him to Las Vegas, and you know what that means.
My review of Trunk Music-Harry Bosch #5
Red Screen
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4stars review
#serialkiller #murdermystery #litRPG
#fantasygame
fast paced story.

The Lady in the Lake
by Raymond ChandlerPhilip Marlowe #4. Marlowe is hired (in 1943) to find a wife who has apparently run off. This is another top-notch mystery by possibly the best author in the genre. I just love the way this guy writes. 5 stars.
If like me you enjoy murder mysteries set in Alaska, this is a good one.
Cold to the Touch by Kerri Hakodareview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished Strangers from the Sky by Margaret Wander Bonanno. Just started Lost Tribe of the Sith: The Collected Stories by John Jackson Miller.
Chenneville
was a five star read for me. Great tension trying to figure out how it would end. My review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This satire addresses concerns of Americans with East Asian ancestry. Part fun and part serious. 4 stars

Finished Lonely Vigils by Manly Wade Wellman. Three -- count 'em! three! -- occult detectives in one big story collection. This is some good ol' pulp writing from the 1930s through the '50s; Wellman was excellent at ringing changes on the types of stories found in the form.
The Cold Blue Blood
by David HandlerBerger & Mitry #1. Enjoyable and appealing mystery featuring an odd-couple pairing of a Jewish film critic (male) and a Black police lieutenant (female). This is the first in the series and I understand the characters need to be introduced but Handler took almost 90 pages to start the murder mystery part. I liked the book and I will follow up on the series. 3 stars -- would have been 4 with a shorter intro.
The perfect blend of romance and Australian outback mystery/crime thriller!
The Grazier's Son by Cathryn Hein ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Trial by Jo Spain set in a college is an excellent mystery involving the mysterious disappearance of a medical studentreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I got to take a slightly early look at

I love the last three posts: by putting a bit of information about the book, they encourage me to look further and maybe to read their reviews. I, unfortunately, tend to skip right by all the posts that say I read X book and here's my review
College and disappearance of a medical student - might be interesting
perfect blend of romance and Australian outback mystery/crime thriller = ditto
and this one really made me interested: Enjoyable and appealing mystery featuring an odd-couple pairing of a Jewish film critic (male) and a Black police lieutenant (female).
I'm working on Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich which is another in the Stephanie Plum series. so far, Plum has yet to have a car blow up on her, Morelli is away, so Ranger has a bigger part in the book, and I'm looking forward to the overnight stakeout with Stephanie’s mother and Grandma Mazur reveals three generations of women with nerves of steel and driving skills worthy of NASCAR champions.
I love Grandma Mazur - this is one of the few characters in a book who can make me laugh out loud
I read A Good Life by Virginie Grimaldi. It is literary fiction, translated from French. My 3.5 star review, rounded up. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Completed true crime tale Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou | audiobook read by Will DamronElizabeth Holmes, however well-intentioned, hoodwinked a Who’s Who of America’s political, CEOs, scientific, and Silicon Valley’s elites into bankrolling her medical device that never worked.
Simon the Fiddler
is a good historical fiction. My four star review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I really appreciate people linking or writing out the titles, too, since I often can't see the covers very well.
I haven't read everything (yet) that much-loved Aussie author Garry Disher has written, but I can recommend everything I have, and his brand new standalone novel, Sanctuary, is right up there. Grace Latimer is a crook. Well, yes, but she has reasons - give her a break!
My review of Sanctuary
Rogue Lawyer
by John GrishamIn this legal thriller, gun-toting street lawyer Sebastian Rudd has a series of clients that range from a goth teenager to an elderly retiree....and all sorts in between.
Good legal thriller. 3.5 stars

Everywhere You Look by Liv Constantine is the first of six Amazon Original Stories in their Never Tell collection. Secrets and lies abound. I hope I enjoy the next ones more than this.
My review of Everywhere You Look(They're published separately, so you can take your pick.)
