This one was one I had reserved back in February for this month for a red cover, just a funny coincidence on the snake, finally getting to it.

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments One week left in March! We need the following cards claimed in the main hand:

Hand Seven:
2
Hand Twelve:
Wild (could be 2, 3, 4, 7)
Hand Fourteen
7
Hand Fifteen
5
Hand Sixteen
7

And for the mini

Section 1:
President Snow's White Negroni - Read a book that relates to the cocktail.
Annie Wilkes' Hanky Panky - Read a book with orange writing on the cover.
Section 2:
Need 8 more books to finish off the fancy cocktail creations

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments If anyone would like to use any of the part 2 books I used to make the cocktail for the part 1 leftovers then please let us know, I’m sure we can rework the cocktails as needed!

message 405: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments Michelle I’ve just finished my 2 Green read and it has lots of animals in it so it fits Pennywise’s Fluffy Critter in the mini part 1

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Just finished my red book, You Slay Me

Awesome! I grabbed an additional 7 book last night so I'll update what is left in a bit.

message 408: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments ive spent over an hour looking for a v/7 book that is interesting/available/might work for snow... no luck . Ugh.

message 409: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments but i found one..it shouldn't be this hard :)

message 410: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 30 comments just checking in!

message 411: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments Those 7’s have been ROUGH!

I think it’s time for me to reread The Viscount Who Loved Me.

message 412: by Grace (new)

Grace | 9 comments Just checking in, hope everyone's doing well!
This month has been really busy for me, so I haven't been able to read as much as I would've liked. I'll try to read one more book for this month, but I don't think I'd be able to do any more than that.

message 413: by MiMi (new)

MiMi | 67 comments Just checking in.
I will finish my last two books but I don‘t believe I can claim any more.

message 414: by Samantha (last edited Mar 25, 2024 09:36AM) (new)

Samantha | 30 comments I grabbed a 7 in hand sixteen for A Rival Most Vial
I moved Finlay Donovan to Wild in hand twelve
I replaced 4 in hand sixteen with Princess Floralinda
I claimed a 2 in hand seven for Yours Truly

I probably have 2 more books left in me before 4/1 that will hopefully help with a March mini

Aside from the books that are still left to be read, we just have 1 missing 5 it looks like!

message 415: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 30 comments Also, would we consider this orange or gold writing?

A Rival Most Vial Potioneering for Love and Profit by R.K. Ashwick

message 416: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 30 comments Also, can one of the captains add the link to the all up rankings spreadsheet to one of the first posts. It's fun to look at :)

message 417: by nadine (new)

nadine | 40 comments checking in too. on track to finish my last placed card but it’s been an unusually slow reading month for me and can’t confidently say i’ll finish anything else - but i’ll keep pushing though!

message 418: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments Samantha that’s a lovely colour! But I’d say the rotunda is orange/yellow ombré but not gold

Also Michelle will need to add it to the top because I can’t edit those top messages but the points spreadsheet is here if anyone wants to see it:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

I had the mods update the spreadsheet so it shows the ranking properly now😊

message 419: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Ok, so I noticed that my book My Side of the Mountain was in two slots. A 9 in hand 6 and for a 6 in hand 11. I don't know if it had been moved around and one of them wasn't deleted, but I removed one.
I still have three books that I am finishing up.
-The last of the Moon Girls-1/4 left
-My side of the Mountain-20ish pages left
-Winter People-just started today.

Depending on how winter people go I may be able to squeeze in another one, but i am at 11 books for the month which is a PR for me :) (I think I signed up for 4) On a side note-I've also knit 4 hats since February so the reading as been productive as well. haha

message 420: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments @Jennifer I think I did that because I couldn’t find a place to fit a book but then I undid it because there was an empty spot and I am blind. It must not have saved my later undoing and only saved when I had moved it. Sometimes when I leave the app in the background it doesn’t save my changes at all! Sorry about that😞

Also guys, I’m going to take off one of my reads and move it to April because I haven’t started it yet and even though it is short, I’m conscious of time whilst I’m still reading 2 other books (1/4 through one and 3/4 through the other) so I don’t want to risk it or have to rush it.
That means we now have an empty 6 and the white writing on the cover task from the mini part 1.

Does anyone have a book not already being used in the mini that has white writing on the cover?

message 421: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments So I’ve noticed Sam’s extra book in overflow so I’ve put that in my empty 6 spot so we only have an empty 9 spot in hand 6 left now from the main cards guys

message 422: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments Let me take a look at my shelves. I can always read a Nancy Drew today to knock out a 9.

message 423: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments I linked the results spreadsheet in our links at the beginning of the thread, too.

message 424: by Namita (last edited Mar 26, 2024 10:22AM) (new)

Namita (-namita) | 110 comments I grabbed #9 on Hand Six. Will be done by Thursday or Friday.

Reading Victory of Eagles (Temeraire, #5) by Naomi Novik

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Kadi wrote: "I had the mods update the spreadsheet so it shows the ranking properly now😊

Must be something wrong with the main formula as all rankings are now marked NA for all teams when before it showed a number last week when I checked. I'm sure it's just a temporary thing

message 426: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments Erin one of the team spreadsheets coding has gone wrong. It’s probably one of these coloured cards because they always mess it up.

What I tend to do is make a copy of the points spreadsheet and then on the copy I can edit it so I delete the N/A score to see where we rank. But that’s effort😂 I’ll drop a message on the captains chat tonight to ask that team to take a look at their N/A score.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) That makes sense - looks like its fixed now!

message 428: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments I knocked out a quick mail order bride book tonight to fill that final open 5!

We are doing great, team. I think we have 14 books to finish for the main, 6 books on the top mini, and 6 more titles to create fun cocktails.
We've got this! Then on to April.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Looking at April since have awhile before I need to clock in to work. Last day of work then 4 days off, woohoo! Have three books to finish for March

With April, the Overload looks fun, looks like we have five total, and one reserved for Gray, so these colors remain to pick from for the remaining four:

- purple
- pink
- orange
- brown
- white
- black

Eleven Reverses in April
Five Greens
Five Red
Six Yellow
Six Blue

That's a lot to find and hunt for. Not reserving any now but going to start looking. Definitely our hardest hand but it's good that this one is very high on points at least

message 430: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments So one of my reads from this month that I’ve moved into overflow for next month has a black cover so that’s another overload covered

message 431: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments We’ve got so many reverses next month! I might start perusing people’s shelves to see if there are any books on there I might fancy reading

message 432: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Would this count for pink?

message 433: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments I think so but there’s also lilac in there which is like purple so I’m not sure. I’ll ask on the captains chat and let you know the verdict

message 434: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Kadi wrote: "I think so but there’s also lilac in there which is like purple so I’m not sure. I’ll ask on the captains chat and let you know the verdict"

ok, thank you.. yea I wasn't sure what the exact hue would be haha :)

message 435: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments The general consensus from the captains group is that the cover is purple not pink and we still have purple free for the overload card next month so you can still claim one of the cards if you’d like to😊

message 436: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments I’m having a great amount of fun going through people’s shelves and perusing the books on there. It’s like going to the library which I haven’t done in age!

Anyway, I’ve picked out a bunch of books from 3 people’s shelves so far of some really great looking classic children’s books I’d never even heard of.
And I’ve claimed 2 of the reverses for April😊

message 437: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments Yes, I'd say that's a lovely plum cover!

message 438: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Perfect! Ill put it down for purple. Thank you for checking!

message 439: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments ok i added a few reverses, a purple overload, 7 yellow, and a couple of 6's for April.
@Kadi- Its so easy to find reverses in your book lists as it is seems you've read every middle grade book :) I like to pre read books for my son to discuss with him and sometimes he tells me if something is good to read as well. I also saw that you read Nevermoor which I have been wanting to read with him for awhile but we will probably wait until summer since its a longer one.

message 440: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments @Jennifer I do read a lot of middle grade! I have a middle grade book group on goodreads that I host. That’s why when I searched yours, Erin’s and Michelle’s shelves I went straight to the children/middle grade shelves and found some great looking classic reads!

Also I hope you both enjoy Nevermoor! I’m pretty sure you’ll both love it, the plot is fantastic. I’m not big on fantasy of any kind, but it’s so easy to immerse yourself in the world and the characters. Book 4 comes out next year!

message 441: by Kadi (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 655 comments Hey Erin I've moved your read These Silent Woods from card 4 in hand 3 to the wild draw 4 card I was reading for in hand 11. And then I put Sam's latest read from overflow into the card 4 in hand 3.

I just did not want to continue reading the book I picked for the WD4 it was sucking the fun out of reading. I'd much rather start reading books for April. And luckily for me we've got enough books to cover the card

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Okay, no problem, glad there was space to shuffle around that worked!

message 443: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments ok, I only have one more book to finish. I should be able wrap it up before tomorrow. How is everyone else doing?

message 444: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments Jennifer, how are you enjoying The Winter People? It was the first book of hers I read and I really enjoyed it.

message 445: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Michelle- it’s my first book by this author also. I’m really enjoying some parts of the storyline. I keep going back and forth when it changes MC perspective. Some things that Ruthie does seem implausible to me though.

message 446: by Michelle (last edited Mar 30, 2024 05:01PM) (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 584 comments Final March weekend update! We are so close to finishing. Here is what we have left and who has claimed the spot. If you need ANY help completing by tomorrow's end of round, please post today so we can quickly step into help.

Hand Five
3 (Kadi) / mini cocktail
Hand Six
9 (Namita) / mini cocktail
5 (Erin)
Hand Seven
4 (Namita)
Hand Nine
3, 3, Draw 2 (Erin)

I was able to make the final cocktails from the pending books so we should be on track as long as the claimed books are the books we finish.

message 447: by Michelle (new)

message 448: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Thanks Michelle!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I switched a book out for another, and another yesterday. Should still be able to finish my remaining two left.

message 450: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Osting | 87 comments Ok I finished my last book and will update the spreadsheet soon. Can we start books for April now?
