Merriam-Webster says "utensils" means "an implement, instrument, vessel, or tool used in a household and especially a kitchen," so I'll take all of the above.

Andrea, I just refreshed my memory of the rules of the challenge, and completely forgot about the 50 books on the shelf rule. As I've read books this year that did NOT fit the challenge after all, I've been taking them off the shelf. *facepalm*
Am I ok to just go back and add all of the books I've read thus far to the shelf?

Let’s clear out some of those to-be-read books!
For this challenge, you may choose to use any book on your want-to-read shelf OR a shelf specifically created for this challenge OR a physical shelf in your home OR an electronic collection of books in your favorite eReader. Whichever shelf you use, make sure it has at least 50 books on it. You may add books to the shelf throughout the challenge period.
Read a book to complete each of the twenty-five (25) tasks below.
If you don’t have a book to complete a task, roll a six-sided die to decide which of the replacement options you will do instead.
If twenty-five books is too much for you in six months, choose ten (10) or fifteen (15) tasks from the list to create your own shortened version of the challenge.
Rules:
* books may only be used for one task
* Rereads okay
* No page minimum (except for tasks that call for a specific page count)
* Any genre (but please warn of explicit content)
* If a task calls for something on the cover, please post the cover.
* If the task calls for an author, please link the author.
* Please repost your completed challenge when you are finished.
Tasks:
1. Read the last book on your list.
2. Read a book with blue AND white on the cover.
3. Read a book with a cute hairstyle on the cover.
4. Read a book by an author who makes you laugh.
5. Read a book that moves your emotions. (laugh, cry, angry, etc.)
6. Read a book by an author who uses three names.
7. Read a book with a combination of fonts/styles in the title.
Ex:
8. Read a book whose title does NOT begin with an article (a, an, the).
9. Read a book that has more than 400 pages (tell page count).
10. Read a book with a lavender (light purple) or cotton candy (light pink) cover.
11. Read a book featuring a child or children. (Tell their names.)
12. Read a book that was published in 2021.
13. Read a book whose author uses an initial for any part of their name.
14. Read a book by an author whose first initial is J or last initial is F.
15. Read a book set in the city. (Tell which city.)
16. Read a book in which someone grows a plant of any kind. (Tell which type.)
17. Read a book that is in the Regency genre.
18. Read a book that has a non-mechanized conveyance on the cover (ex: wagon, stagecoach, etc.).
19. Read a nonfiction book.
20. Read a book that features a mail-order bride. (Tell her name.)
21. Read a time-slip/dual timeline book. (Tell the time periods/years.)
22. Read a Christmas book.
23. Read a book that features wild weather. (Tell which type of weather.)
24. Read a book with a character whose first initial is E. (Tell the name.)
25. Read a book set during a war. (Tell which war.)
Replacement Tasks:
1. Read the first book on your list.
2. Read a book whose title begins with a vowel (A, E, I, O, U; ignore articles).
3. Read a book that is contemporary.
4. Read a book that is historical.
5. Read a book whose cover is a primary color (red, yellow, blue). Must be at least 50% that color.
6. Read a book that has at least 300 pages. (Tell the page count.)
