So glad I finally got around to reading Scottish author Christopher Brookmyre's debut crime novel and first in his Jack Parlabane series. Still very entertaining 18 years on!

I'd have been saying a lot more than Hail, Mary, if I'd been on board that spaceship in Andrew Weir's amazing sci-fi adventure, Project Hail Mary! A wild, fascinating ride into the unknown, full of warmth and affection in spite of the terror.
My review of Project Hail Mary
The Deepest Kill by Lisa Black is the third in her series featuring a forensic institute, this time hired to investigate an 'accidental' drowning.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is another gritty addition to Alan Parks's Harry McCoy tartan noir series set in the mean streets of 1970s Glasgow.

Murder at Midnight by Faith Martin review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished listening to The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sara Pekkanen - 3.5*.A married couple sees an unconventional therapist due to the wife's cheating but they all have secrets. The therapist's method wasn't plausible but it was entertaining.
I finished listening to Alone by Lisa Gardner - 3.5*.After a police sniper kills a husband threatening his wife with a gun, his superiors think the wife manipulated the situation and the sniper is being investigated. The story had lots of twists and was far-fetched but suspenseful and entertaining.
I think this is one of those hidden gems.

Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom by McCracken Poston Jr., is a true-life courtroom drama entertainingly written by the lawyer who defended his neurodiverse client accused of murdering the wife no one knew he had.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
In The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly, LA Detective Harry Bosch is up against it following the 1994 record-breaking earthquake that wrecked his house. Mind you, that's the least of his problems.
