Carolyn | 2078 comments So glad I finally got around to reading Scottish author Christopher Brookmyre's debut crime novel and first in his Jack Parlabane series. Still very entertaining 18 years on!

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Prize Women by Caroline Lea - 3 *.

Two good friends compete for money to have the most children in 10 years in a contest setup by a deceased rich man, during the Depression. Well told story but sad and depressing until a bit of happiness at the end.

Carolyn | 2078 comments This is another gritty addition to Alan Parks's Harry McCoy tartan noir series set in the mean streets of 1970s Glasgow.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sara Pekkanen - 3.5*.

A married couple sees an unconventional therapist due to the wife's cheating but they all have secrets. The therapist's method wasn't plausible but it was entertaining.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Alone by Lisa Gardner - 3.5*.

After a police sniper kills a husband threatening his wife with a gun, his superiors think the wife manipulated the situation and the sniper is being investigated. The story had lots of twists and was far-fetched but suspenseful and entertaining.

Carolyn | 2078 comments Zenith Man Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom by McCracken Poston Jr. Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom by McCracken Poston Jr., is a true-life courtroom drama entertainingly written by the lawyer who defended his neurodiverse client accused of murdering the wife no one knew he had.

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments In The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly, LA Detective Harry Bosch is up against it following the 1994 record-breaking earthquake that wrecked his house. Mind you, that's the least of his problems.
