message 57: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 492 comments Hi Sunshine! :) We only had a few 'read books' in common so picking books for you was a little tough (luckily we rated those books similarly!). My fingers are crossed that you'll enjoy my new-to-you picks :P

1. Spring Cleaning
Law Man by Kristen Ashley (TBR)
On TBR for Over a Year: I love Kristen Ashley. I haven't read any from this series but it looks good!
Naked in Death by J.D. Robb (TBR)
Read and LOVED Ages Ago: Eeep! I've read this book dozens of times by now and love it every time. The mystery is really well done but the characters are where it's at. <3
A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole (NEW)
Read and Loved Ages Ago: I didn't see much read paranormal on your shelf but I did see you've read and liked books from Singh and Frost. I think you'll enjoy this book too :) (The Warlord Wants Forever is listed as the first book if you'd prefer to read that, if I recall correctly it's more of a 'bonus' novella though)

Law Man (Dream Man, #3) by Kristen Ashley Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole

2. Spring Into Action
Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti (TBR)
Action/Suspense: Zanetti is on my list to try. I've heard lots of good things.
SEAL of Honor by Tonya Burrows (NEW)
Action/Suspense: Sexy romantic suspense set in Columbia. I couldn't put it down!
Somebody's Angel by Kallypso Masters (TBR)
Series Continuation: You're at book #4, keep on going!

Forgotten Sins (Sin Brothers, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti SEAL of Honor (Hornet, #1) by Tonya Burrows Somebody's Angel (Rescue Me Saga, #4) by Kallypso Masters

3. Spring Fling
Three to Ride by Sophie Oak (TBR)
Quick and Hot: At about 200 pages it was one of shortest on your list and, while I haven't read it, it looks hot, hot, hot.
Kodiak's Claim by Eve Langlais (NEW)
Quick and Hot: I don't read a lot of erotica but I love this series (and pretty much anything written by Langlais).
Willing Captive by Belle Aurora (TBR but not preferred shelf)
Wild Ride: I read this recently and enjoyed it a lot. As soon as I saw 'wild ride' this book was all I could think of :P
Deep by Kylie Scott (TBR)
Hot Cover: Yum! I'm so excited for this book to come out! :D
The Other C-Word by M.K. Schiller (NEW)
Hot Cover: I prefer sexy men on my covers but every time I see this book pop up I have to stare at the cover for a moment :P I haven't read it but it sounds awesome and is on my list of books to read very soon.

Three to Ride (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #1) by Sophie Oak Kodiak's Claim (Kodiak Point, #1) by Eve Langlais Willing Captive by Belle Aurora Deep (Stage Dive, #4) by Kylie Scott The Other C-Word (In Other Words, #1) by M.K. Schiller

4. Spring is in the Air
Just This Once by Rosalind James (TBR)
Beach Cover: Well there were two choices on your preferred shelf for this category and this was the book my GR friends liked best! :P It looks cute.
Loving Cara by Kristen Proby (NEW)
Flower Cover: I thought this was an adorable romance :)

Just This Once (Escape to New Zealand, #1) by Rosalind James Loving Cara (Love Under the Big Sky, #1) by Kristen Proby

message 64: by Penney (last edited Mar 25, 2015 03:15PM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Good Morning MountainKat! We have many of the same books with very similar ratings, so this was fun! I've picked two NEW books and two from your TBR for each category. So here we go...

Spring Cleaning
(TBR) Reunion in Death - I'm rereading this series because it's just that good.
(TBR) The Prince of Midnight - I absolutely LOVE her flawed characters and these two may just be the epitome.
(NEW) Her One Desire - The heroine is the daughter of the high executioner. This is not your typical HR.
(NEW) The Reluctant Dom - Plenty of sexy BDSM scenes but a tearjerker as well. Make sure you have tissues handy.
Reunion in Death (In Death, #14) by J.D. Robb The Prince of Midnight by Laura Kinsale Her One Desire by Kimberly Killion The Reluctant Dom (The Suncoast Society) by Tymber Dalton

Spring into Action
(TBR) Moon Called - This first installment builds the world for one of my favorite series.
(TBR) Midnight Promises - I had no idea she continued this series! I just added it to my TBR, so thanks for that :)
(NEW) Raphael - I recommend this book all the time. It's a great beginning to a great series, but be prepared for a mini cliffhanger.
(NEW) Neanderthal Seeks Human - When I went through your shelves there were two books that immediately came to mind. This was one of them. It's smart, sexy and funny.
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Midnight Promises (Midnight, #5) by Lisa Marie Rice Raphael (Vampires in America, #1) by D.B. Reynolds Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid

Spring Fling
(TBR) An On Dublin Street Halloween - Clearly we both love this series.
(TBR) Untitled - It's always a wild ride with Ty & Zane. I'm hoping this one is well worth the wait.
(NEW) The Siren - Hot & sexy but not what I'd call a romance. For that reason alone it's a wild and crazy ride.
(NEW) Burn for Me - I've yet to read something bad from Ilona Andrews and this is a great start to a new series.
An On Dublin Street Halloween (On Dublin Street, #1.2) by Samantha Young Untitled (Cut & Run, #9) by Abigail Roux The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews

Spring is in the Air & Warm Weather is Around the Corner
(TBR) Hostage to Pleasure - I loved Dorian and Ashaya's story, but I love this entire series so maybe I'm biased. (believe it or not, there are rolling waves on the cover)
(TBR) The Art of Breathing - I have Bear, Otter & the Kid on my wishlist, I really should get to it.
(NEW) Sweet Filthy Boy - This is the other book that I HAD to pick for you. Don't let the title or cover fool you, he is definitely not a boy and this is not NA even people have shelved it as such. These are two ordinary people on an extraordinary journey and I fell in love with both of them. Like my other "Must Rec" ( I just made up a new term, lol), this is funny, very hot and well written.
(NEW) Lick - This is a NA read and it was a very pleasant surprise. The role reversal was refreshing and made me eager to read more.
Hostage to Pleasure (Psy-Changeling, #5) by Nalini Singh The Art of Breathing (Bear, Otter, and the Kid, #3) by T.J. Klune Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons, #1) by Christina Lauren Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott

Ok MKat, I hope I've done well by you and that you find a new favorite in here somewhere.
Happy Reading!!

message 79: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11348 comments Hi Kristy!

Here are my picks for you. Half are new to you and half are from your TBR, and the ones from your TBR are mostly (but not all) from your preferred shelf.

1. Spring cleaning:
The Beautiful Mystery (TBR) – One of only 2 books on your TBR over a year old, I haven't read it but it looks like you've enjoyed the rest of the series.
It Had to Be You (TBR) – Ignore the obnoxious cover, the book is so much better than that!
Virgin River (New) – I love this series, and wish I could visit (or live in) Virgin River!
Just the Sexiest Man Alive (New) – Debut novel by an author who has become an autobuy for me.

2. Spring into action:
Heartbreaker (TBR) – I haven't read this one yet, but I love this author's work.
Glory in Death (TBR) – I'm obsessed with this series...it just keeps getting better and better.
Extreme Exposure (New) – Not my favorite book in this series, but still good.
The Darkest Hour (New) – So emotional, a wonderful start to an amazing series.

3. Spring Fling:
To Die For (TBR) – Crazy, a little bit goofy, and just plain fun!
One for the Money (TBR) – Another one that's fun and addicting.
An On Dublin Street Christmas (New) – Short and sweet, nice little peek into the lives of Joss & Braden.
Midnight Rainbow (New) – Fairly short but action packed.

4. Spring is in the air & warm weather is around the corner:
Heaven and Earth (TBR) – I love Nora Roberts, and this trilogy is one of my favorites.
Sugar Daddy (TBR) – Another series I love...although this isn't my favorite of the series, it's still very good.
One Reckless Summer (New) – Heartbreaking and emotional but with the required (for me at least) HEA, and so, so good!
Saving Grace (New) – One of my all-time favorite historical novels.

I hope you find something here that works for you – happy reading!

Wow, lots of great stuff to choose from, Breann...I can see this is going to be one of those times where I run out of month before I run out of book choices! =P I see several that I'm definitely planning on for next month, and that's just from the TBR picks - and several of the new to me picks look really intriguing, too. message 81: by Andrasun (last edited Mar 25, 2015 10:48AM) (new)

Andrasun Hello, Arena!

I am impressed by how many books you’ve read and I think I’m going to borrow some ideas from your shelves. We have enough common books to select a few so here we go…

1. Spring Cleaning
(TBR) About That Night by Julie James – Most of your to-read books were added in 2015, so I chose one from January. I love all books by Julie James, so I think you will enjoy the series (About That Night is the third, the first being Something About You).
(NEW) Paradise by Judith McNaught – I read this book a long time ago and I still think is a keeper.

2. Spring into Action
(TBR) Obsession in Death by J.D. Robb – I am a huge fan of the series and I think this one, the fortieth, is really interesting. I also recommend the fourth, Rapture in Death, which you haven’t read but is not on your to-read shelf.
(NEW) Dark Lover by J.R. Ward – This is the first in a series with lots of action and vampires. I’m addicted to this author.

3. Spring Fling
(TBR) Broken by Megan Hart – Lots of sexy scenes and a great story with unforgettable characters.
(NEW) Making Faces by Amy Harmon – I recommend this book to everybody who cares to listen because it really touched my heart. I don’t think it is particularly wild, crazy or hot, but I had to pick it up.

3. Spring is in the Air & Warm Weather is Around the Corner
(TBR) The Scorch Trials by James Dashner – Ok, this one is definitely set in a warmer climate, but I enjoyed more The Maze Runner. I recommend starting with the first because they are linked. The Maze Runner movie was nice but it is a cropped version of the book.
(NEW) Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker – A book with plenty of angst but a great read. And it has some water on the cover ;-)

Happy Reading!

About That Night (FBI/US Attorney, #3) by Julie James Paradise (Second Opportunities, #1) by Judith McNaught Obsession in Death (In Death, #40) by J.D. Robb Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward Broken by Megan Hart Making Faces by Amy Harmon The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1) by K.A. Tucker

2. Spring into action: From you TBR: Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood #10) by J.R. 3. Spring Fling: From your TBR, hot cover (I liked this one): Rusty Nailed (Cocktail, #2) by Alice Clayton Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton and another hot cover that I liked, Along Came Trouble (Camelot, #2) by Ruthie Knox Along Came Trouble by Ruthie Knox.

Hi Elke! :) Thank you so much for the great picks! Everything looks/sounds really good. I'm excited to get reading, bring on April!!
Absolutely no worries! I know I'm making it harder by not marking those pre-GR books as read. I'm too stubborn... okay fine, anal retentive :P

Mandy (mandypants) Heya Ty!

We’ve read a lot of the same books. Totally made this harder since I kept wanting to recommend books you’ve already read. So, for the new to you books, I tried to mix up genres and book lengths. It’s pretty much all over the place. Hope you find something fun to read!

1. Spring cleaning:
TBR: Swimming to Tokyo- Either I’m searching incorrectly, or you keep a very tidy TBR list. Either way, I couldn’t find a book on your TBR list from a year ago. So, I picked the earliest two I could find.
TBR: The Star Thief- Id.
NEW: A Week to Be Wicked- Book two in the series, but it’s great. I read it out of order, too. Totally the best place to start in the series!
NEW: Close Enough to Touch- Contemporary romance isn’t my favoritest genre, but I actually liked this one. It has a bit more bite to it than the standard CR fare.

Swimming to Tokyo by Brenda St. John Brown The Star Thief (Star Thief Chronicles, #1) by Jamie Grey A Week to Be Wicked (Spindle Cove, #2) by Tessa Dare Close Enough to Touch (Jackson, #1) by Victoria Dahl

2. Spring into action:
TBR: Screwdrivered- The first one was pretty funny. You can be my guinea pig and tell me how the second one goes. ;-)
TBR: Obligation- Honestly, I haven’t read this. But, I did read this awesome negative review. Is it wrong that I’m recommending a book to you based on a negative review? It almost has me convinced to give it a go, too. I always like a good laugh.
NEW: Discount Armageddon- This is Mira Grant’s nom de plume. It’s much more light hearted than the tear inducing Feed.
NEW: The Beast in Him- I know you read the first in this series and didn’t rate it very highly. But, I double pinky promise the series gets better, if you stick with it. Double pinky promise!

Screwdrivered (Cocktail, #3) by Alice Clayton Obligation (Underground Kings, #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds Discount Armageddon (InCryptid, #1) by Seanan McGuire The Beast in Him (Pride, #2) by Shelly Laurenston

3. Spring Fling:
TBR: The Kraken King- Brook is always good for wild and crazy ride.
TBR: Curious- Uh...because...have you seen the cover? :-)
NEW: The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl- The heroine can be really TSTL, but it’s a fun book anyway. Bonus points for me: It’s free on amazon right now!
NEW: Agnes and the Hitman- I’m not usually a Crusie fan. Her only other book I like is Bet Me. But, Agnes is one of my favorite books. It has some action, some romance, lots of humor, and lots of death.

The Kraken King (Iron Seas, #4) by Meljean Brook Curious (The Finn Factor, #1) by R.G. Alexander The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl (Geek Girls, #1) by Gina Lamm Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

4. Spring is in the air & warm weather is around the corner:
TBR: Burned- After all the drama with the first book, you have to read the second one.
TBR: Burn for Me- So, they say that this is romance. It’s totally 100% urban fantasy, though. Interesting new series.
NEW: Wild & Steamy- A mix of novellas...even though I’m completely not into novellas. :-)
NEW: Infernal Devices(All Steamed Up #1)- Erotica mixed with steampunk. This is lendable on kindle, if you’d like me to send it to you.

Burned (Fever, #7) by Karen Marie Moning Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews Wild & Steamy (Includes Iron Seas #0.4; The Disillusionists Trilogy #2.5) by Meljean Brook Infernal Devices (All Steamed Up, #1) by Jenny Trout

Mandy (mandypants) Sorry, Jojo!

I should have specified which shelf. Normally, it's both, but we're still in the process of moving. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. I own is in storage, including all my books.

I'm going to read Magic Breaks and Hush. Thanks for my picks!!

Kristy Thomas | 45 comments Hi Dee.

You have read so many books it was hard to find something you may like that is unread. I hope you can find a few here that sound tempting.

1. Spring cleaning: Recommend a book that has been on your pickee’s TBR/preferred shelf for more than a year and pick a book that you loved and read a long time ago that you think your pickee would like.

TBR: Quid Pro Quo. This book has been on your shelf since May 11, 2012. It looks like a good one.
New: The Prince of Tides. This is one of my favorite books of all time, definitely in my top 5. I recommend it to everyone all the time, but hardly anyone ever takes me up on it. Maybe because it is not a quick read, or maybe because they saw the movie and hated it. It is nothing like the movie. It is beautifully written with wonderful characters and deep, dark plot lines. Give it a try. My son read the first paragraph and was hooked. Believe me, you won’t be sorry you took the time to read this.

2. Spring into action: Recommend a book that is suspenseful and/or has a lot of action, or make your pickee take action and make them either continue or finish a series.

TBR: Willing Sacrifice. This book is #6 in a series. Again, I have not read it, but the cover is hot!
New: Blindsighted. This book was recommended to me in a pifm several months back. It is a suspense/mystery/romance that is shocking and twisted. I loved reading it!

3. Spring Fling: Recommend a book that is a quick hot romance, or one that is a wild and crazy ride, or a book with a hot cover.

TBR: Lethal Bayou Beauty. With only 212 pages, this book will be a quick read.
New: Rock Chick. Okay, I put off reading any of the RC series thinking that I would think they were trite or silly. I tend towards more serious reading. But I finally gave up and read Rock Chick. I laughed uproariously out loud at the crazy antics of Indy and her motley group of pals. I really enjoyed it.

4. Spring is in the air & warm weather is around the corner: Recommend a book that is set in a warmer climate, a book that has a water/beach or flowers on the cover.

TBR: Married by Monday. This takes place in California and has flowers on the cover.
New: The Color Purple. This is the first Alice Walker book I read and it is beautifully written with a realness that will make you laugh, cry and laugh through crying. I think you will like it, too. Alternatively, I also recommend Cold Sassy Tree. It takes place in Georgia, which is a warmer climate. It, too, is deemed a classic, and is absolutely wonderful. You will fall in love with Will Tweedy, the young narrator, and his crazy family.

If you would like other picks, just let me know. I realize not everyone's tastes are the same. Have fun reading!
