If we end up with an extra I we can switch my second book to use the V. Starting A Monstrous Regiment of Women now.
My day off changed this week because I had a big meeting today and another one tomorrow. I should get a couple finished by Thursday.

I really liked this book. I grabbed it from kindle unlimited. A really interesting historical fiction book. I'm so thankful for all those women that paved the way for women's rights. To be a female during this time period would be a nightmare, let alone a female born without money or good kind husband.

This was a cute romance between the bodyguard and the "princess"
Don't worry about it Michelle. I know those kind of work weeks. Also, you don't want to read too much that it burns you out. I hope you are able to have some rest time. :)I'm reading The Girl on the Train at this time. I have my DQs due tomorrow.
Read the first 61 pages of The Girl on the Train yesterday and just answered the questions for the BotM. I've never done this before, read the prescribed pages on the prescribed days. It's different. If I was enjoying the book more I think I'd find it a hardship to stop, but since it's still quite annoying so far, I'm okay with it. :DBack to the store today, I'll read a bunch of my short little books again.
Yes, I am annoyed with the book. I don't like Megan much. She is a bored, spoiled housewife that I never going to be satisfied and Rachel is so weak she I annoying.I am happy my DQ day is over. Now I can plow through the book.
Have fun grabbing new books. I am at work so I don't know how much reading I can get in today. It's my 13 hour day. Is 8:15pm here yet?

I am reading Bless the Beasts and the Children by Glendon Swarthout for my final book of the week. I should finish it tonight, but perhaps tomorrow morning. I will start working on the next week's reading after that and try to get a couple mostly read. I need to get a bit ahead because I am going to be gone to a convention from Tuesday-Friday of our last week of the challenge and so I am not going to be able to contribute much that week unless I really work at it in the next 2 weeks. (I am actually teaching at the convention and so will not have freetime, at all, during the time that I am away.)Bless the Beasts and the Children will give us either S, C, or L.

Cute romance re-read.
As dog is my witness if I read one more book with a woman who is suicidal because some man broke up with her/cheated on her, I am going to lose it and stop reading. And the sneaky bastards never mention it on the book jacket. Every single genre I have tried lately - mystery, legal, cozy, thriller, medical, historical romance, contemporary romance, chick lit, dick lit, you name it.... woman who can't cope with life. It's so depressing I want to cry or possibly punch something.
Oh that sucks! I hate it when I get a string of bad plots. Working late tonight. Plan to finish my last book before work tomorrow.

NEON CARROT for next week. Time to bust out those R titles I need for another challenge. Do you think either of these is orange enough to count?
They're definitely not neon. :D
Allison Ann wrote: "As dog is my witness if I read one more book with a woman who is suicidal because some man broke up with her/cheated on her, I am going to lose it and stop reading. And the sneaky bastards never m..."Ah, you are talking The Girl on the Train. I have that a 2 star.
I suggest the genre of horror or Sci-fi. No suicidal weak girls there.
So The Girl on the Train didn't get any better? I was hoping at least for some reasonable resolution to the mystery. I'm reading a fantasy/sci-fi (spaceships and wizards) and the MC has gone from an ass-kicking witch to mooning around having fantasies about her mentor. Yuck!
I've also got a cozy with the woman who is literally suicidal because her boyfriend broke up with her after a miscarriage - a year ago. Another woman utterly convinced her son didn't kill himself and completely incapable of dealing with her husband or the not-dead children. Guess what, he did kill himself, thanks for the waste of a character there. There's more but it's just so boring.
Thanks, it's frustrating. The only 4 and 5 star books I've read lately have been re-reads because I NEEDED something I would unreservedly enjoy. I am starting an Elmore Leonard tonight that I have hopes for though. :) Fingers crossed.
I tend to stay away from the Cozy/Chick lit books. They are a genre I do a major battle with and I just end up wanting to punt kick the books across the room. I read such a variety of books I'm able to switch them about. I don't like weak needy women in my books. They tick me off and I just don't want to waste my time with it.
I'm not a big fan on Girl on the Train. I'll wait until you finish it. I know lots of people in the group read like it a lot. I just hate the main characters and find them very flat, but that's just me. I thought it was an "okay" book but not a book a like. Just, "Meh".
This is what I've been told. We need to have those 1, and 2 star rating books to really appreciate those 4 and 5 star books. Good advice from a fellow Buddy Reader of mine.
Allison Ann wrote: "NEON CARROT for next week. Time to bust out those R titles I need for another challenge. Do you think either of these is orange enough to count?"Sorry they aren't orange enough.
I do have a orange cover book only with 164 pages. I can whip through it fast too.

BTW, Fire Opals are doing awesome. They are just 20 points behind us! Amazing climb for them! I will have four books finished by tomorrow night.
Updated the spreadsheets. We are at 405 points. Once I finish my book we will have three spell outs of Sonic Silver finished. Yay! great job everyone!
Allison Ann, is it possible for you to put the edition of "The Edge" with the pages in your bookshelf. You listed it as 328 pages. Thank you!

Sorry, apparently they don't have my version with page numbers on the site. I didn't notice. So I switched to one that was close enough, it's under 500 so we get the same points.

Thanks Michelle. You are doing great too. Thanks for adding all the books you can. I may have to depend upon your more starting next Friday. I have major schedule changes at work.
Have a good work day Michelle.

I totally understand. I have the same problem. Thanks for doing it.
Have fun reading. I hope they are better books for you. I saw all those 1 and 2 stars in your bookshelf. I was like wow. That's a lot of 1 and 2 stars. That happened to me in January.
