Updated the spreadsheets and checked the bookshelves. We are almost finished with the 4th spell out of Sonic Silver. I will have an "S" finished by deadline. Only an " I " left.
505 points so far. When I'm finished 515 points.
I submitted our points. We earned 515 points. We did 3 full spell outs of Sonic Silver and almost a 4th, just one book shy. That is great. We have read 43 books!Yay Team Ruby!
OK. Here is book #1 for the week:Book: Gathering Blue
Author: Lois Lowry
Pages: 240
C: character-Christopher
A: character-Annabella
T: character-Thomas
I have begun Never Kiss an Alligator on the Lips Vol 2 by Curt Boudreaux. It looks like it only helps with N and C, but at least we need two N's.
I have also begun Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. That works for N, R, and T. I am hoping to finish my 800 page Dickens "O" book this week. (But it works for every one of the letters this week.)
I just checked the points for all teams. For some reason for our 5th week it isn't saying we did 515 points. It's saying 465 points. I don't know why it's not putting in our points for the 4th spell out.
Mods have done a manual count, there were a few teams out this week. Results posted herehttps://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Thanks Renee. I didn't know if it was something I did or not. I kept looking everything over and over.

That sounds like a good book. I'll put it on my TRL.
My reading good news is now I have earned my horse on the Hero Adventure RPG. I picked a battle horse and named him Baxter Shoogloo.
Finished just a fun Cajun book. Sometimes, these reading challenges make reading feeling fun a challenge to me. It starts to feel like something you just have to get done. I hate it when that happens. Think that I like the individual challenges a lot better than the group ones because of that. You start to feel like a literary prostitute!Anyway, book #2:
Book: Never Kiss an Alligator on the Lips Vol 2

N: Title
C: Author
T: Character-T-Brud
I will finish Norwegian Wood tomorrow or Tuesday. Then, I will read a memoir: The Red Scarf Girl
Cheryl wrote: "Finished just a fun Cajun book. Sometimes, these reading challenges make reading feeling fun becomes a challenge to me. It starts to feel like something you just have to get done. I hate it when..."Cheryl, I totally know how you feel. I like the individual challenges too. The nice thing about the RPG challenge is it is individual. Everyone is at their own pace. You just plug away at what you can. I want to purchase a kitten in the caravan and that is 40 gold. I have 20 gold so I'm trying to work both the challenges (this one and that) to get my books read for both. You know killing two birds with one stone.
Right now I really feel like a literary prostitute. I can't wait for this one to be over to get that pressure off. It will be nice to read books I want to read (larger books), that I've put off to earn more points here.
I am finally reading a new (to me, actually written in 1970) book that I am loving. I really hope it doesn't fall apart now that I'm halfway through. Don't let me down Robertson Davies! Congrats on your horse Rachel. I admit I find his name a little disturbing and hope he doesn't disappoint you and end up as actual glue. ;) Good luck on your kitten too.
The group challenges are fun, but sometimes I admit they do get to feel like work. I am not even remotely competitive in real life, but things like this get me rabid for a win. I read 18 books last week! I don't have time to be reading 18 books these days, but I did it anyway. Now I'm expecting a cautionary PM from the mods, but damnit I'm going to read as many books as possible this week too. :D I want to win this thing people. Who's with me?
Okay off to work, I was called in. This is a 60 hour week. Just three hours today but then I can put in some major reading time once I get home.

Congrats Rachel! That is awesome.
I've been one book away from the horse for a while. I loaned out a book with a thief and they said they would return it Sat and they forgot. :(
But I think one of my books I'm getting Tue will work.

:( Bummer. Crossing fingers!
Thanks Diane and Allison Ann. I know the name is disturbing but I did that for a joke for myself. I have a sick sense of humor. :P
Spreadsheet updated. 140 points. (say 130 but I have one book in spell out 2)I'm happy you found a good book Allison Ann. You read a lot of lemons to get to this one.
Michelle wrote: "Jury duty. :( still not dismissed. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I am reading now at least."
Hope you've been kicked to the curb by now. :)
Home now and reading. Should have 2 to add to our sheet tonight. For some reason I am not finding the right letters for this spell out. Frustrating.
I'm having a harder time with the letters this time too. I'm not sure why. It isn't that they are tough letters. Perhaps it's all the double letters.
