February Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests
I would like to move Olivermagnus up to book #37 on her list: Killers of a Certain Age. It looks like something I might enjoy.

I've really been looking forward to that book. I'll take it on my family reunion cruise. I just arrived in Fort Lauderdale and we are departing on February 11.
I keep thinking how much more work this is for the Mods (Anita) than the games we had the last couple years!
Joanne wrote: "LoL not really, I am on the slow train to nowhere🤣"I call BS. You left the Caboose ... some of us are far slower and still there!!
Can I have my first roll at porter level, please? I have completed and posted my gameboard in that thread.
Hannah wrote: "Can I have my first roll at porter level, please? I have completed and posted my gameboard in that thread."Congratulations, Hannah! We ate ready for you in the Caboose! Celebratory cocktails being mixed!
Attention Baggage Car: if any leftovers we will send them along with next reader leaving the Caboose. We have stockpiled extra sippy cups.
I’ve been thinking the same, Robin - so much work! Really grateful. It’s such a huge amount of fun. And I’ve killed more books off my TBR than I have managed to do for ages!
Thank you, Robin and Kate, for the kind words! I'm so glad you are having fun. That makes it all worth it!!!
Hannah wrote: "Can I have my first roll at porter level, please? I have completed and posted my gameboard in that thread."Congratulations, Hannah, for finishing!!
This is undoubtedly in the rules somewhere but when we finish a level, do we start the next level wherever we end up, like space #3, or do we start over with space 1 of the new level?
Robin P wrote: "This is undoubtedly in the rules somewhere but when we finish a level, do we start the next level wherever we end up, like space #3, or do we start over with space 1 of the new level?"It's a good question!
You actually just roll off the end of your (clerk) board, and then you start over with space 1 at the new porter level.
Anita wrote: "Robin P wrote: "This is undoubtedly in the rules somewhere but when we finish a level, do we start the next level wherever we end up, like space #3, or do we start over with space 1 of the new leve..."I was thinking that way, we would never get on space 1 but if we are throwing 1 die, we might get to read it.
Robin P wrote: "Anita wrote: "Robin P wrote: "This is undoubtedly in the rules somewhere but when we finish a level, do we start the next level wherever we end up, like space #3, or do we start over with space 1 o..."I think that happened to NancyJ in the Porter Round!
Next approaching the Royal Coach is Ellen, though at the moment she is sitting pretty comfortably in the Private Parlor Car.
Robin P wrote: "Anita wrote: "Robin P wrote: "This is undoubtedly in the rules somewhere but when we finish a level, do we start the next level wherever we end up, like space #3, or do we start over with space 1 o..."Yes, I started at spot 0, and my first roll was a 1, so I read the first book on my list. I didn’t notice if others did the same.
I am now one book away from starting my number 35, 6th Subdue book, the one that finally gets me to the second class lounge.... Sometimes I feel I will never get there. But hell or high water, I am going to return the book I am starting today (Fallen Angel) to the library on Friday, and when I leave for Mexico next Saturday, the Beekeepers Promise (Subdue #6) will be in my hands on the plane! With about 8 other books in the luggage! Here's what's up for Mexico: (Will order Subdue #7 from the library from the sunny poolside.)
The Beekeepers Promise - Subdue #6
The Gown - Trim and England
Before the Coffee Gets Cold - Birthday #7
The Paris Apartment - Birthday #8
Daughter of Rome
The Wardrobe Mistress
The Thread Collectors (likely to be audio)
The Red Necklace
Attribution
The Obsidian Tower
Sometimes I feel like I am completely flailing and failing the subdue challenge. Its going so fast and we already have like 5-6 Porters. But then I remember, I am actually still sort of in the middle of the clump, although that place seems to be dropping quickly, and in fact, it is only February 11th. And I have six birthday books. And a crazy life. I quickly have to gain some perspective here. I will cross the board by the end of the year. We are all getting to read some great and unexpected books, and having a hell of a lot of fun. Its only momentary madness, when I feel my train car is stalled and that the train on the whole has gone off its rails. I am sitting tight in that last seat in the Baggage Car. Save me a seat in that second class lounge, and tell the fire fighters that a lady with a tan is soon to arrive.

I prefer paper books to ebooks, but for travel, having multiple books with no weight is a great thing.
Joanne wrote: "I have the Thread Collectors sitting here waiting for room on the nightstand"I do as well.
Do we have a buddy read in the making?

Definitely in my TBR Towers but not getting to it too soon. Have a couple chunksters on the night stand.
I am almost done with the current audio, The House at Mermaid Cove, so Thread Collectors is almost up. But it could take me a while, especially since being away I doubt I will be listening too much. But you are so welcome to join me.
Looks like the timing might be off for all of us.I have quite a few this month, I want to read. Maybe in a couple of weeks, depending.
And what a powerful four that would have been! I would love to see the four of us read something together.

Anita - I am on the porter level now, so I think I only get one dice rolled, not two. Do you want me to use the 4 as it looks like that was rolled first, or do you want to re-roll?
Hurray! I will soon be heading into the Baggage Car! With a nice regency romance to read too, just what I am in the mood to read.

Whitney, My Love, hardback version was 577 pages and qualifies for a second die. I'll take it today if it's not too late. Thanks!"
Oh definitely not too late. Thank you for posting this.
