Amanda (docmandy) | 178 comments I have just updated my post (102) with more books I have read. I haven’t updated for about 3 months! I substituted Did I Ever Tell You This? by Sam Neill for Your Own Kind of Girl by Clare Bowditch. The latter annoyed me no end so I stopped listening to it (had it as an audiobook). Sam Neil, also an audiobook, was much more enjoyable. I have now read 19 of my 26, so am making good progress. I have also read other books that aren’t on this list.

Bec | 171 comments Just a question - is there a page or time limit on books for the challange? I listened to Guard Her with your Life which is good for 'G' but is only 3.5 hours. Is this too short to count?

I don't know in regards to pages from audio Bec. But the best way is to have a look at the same book, but either kindle or paperback, they should give you the page count. 125 is the minimum :) Good luck!

I just checked a bit further Bec. It looks like it's only an audible book, so we can't compare with a paper book, or even a kindle. I'll see what else I can find for you.

Thanks Brenda,
I did a bit of a google and seems like 1 hour of listening may equate to about 25 pages (this ia a gross generalisation)...so I think it will be way too short. I'll find something else for G. Thanks for your help.

No worries - and wow! I can read 25 pages far quicker than an hour!!! I have asked Phrynne, so if she gets back with anything different, we'll let you know :)

Bec | 171 comments Brenda wrote: "No worries - and wow! I can read 25 pages far quicker than an hour!!! I have asked Phrynne, so if she gets back with anything different, we'll let you know :)"

Yeah me too. I read about 1 minute a page - so 60 pages an hour. I know that listening is much slower (I've tried it when I have the kindle and audio by having the sound off and letting a chapter go whilst I read the same chapter and I'm much quicker at reading). But I use audio for times I'm walking.

message 279: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80242 comments Mod
And that's good, because it's difficult to read the kindle or paperbook while walking ;)

Bec, here's Phrynne's reply: I have a Nora Roberts book on my iPad which is 10 hours of listening. The same book is 330 pages. So about 33 pages an hour times 4 = 132
Based on that she is fine to use it.

Bec | 171 comments I'm a bit slow at getting through these. I'm going another challenge which is 52 books a year, so have been focussing on them. 2 to go for that one. But I now currently have a free Kindle Unlimited subscription so trying to read as many boosk from KU whilst I have it (won't pay for it- I have so many books to read anyway)...then I've got ARCs to read....but will eventually get back to this one!

You can use books which you've read for your other challenges Bec, as long as they fit the criteria. Doubling and tripling up with your challenges makes things work better for you :) Good luck!
