Not my favorite, but still a good addition to the series!
Her Silent Cry is a police procedural about a child abducted in broad daylight. With no witnesses and no suspects, the child’s parents come under fire. While they seem innocent, deep dark secrets from their past could put their child in imminent danger.
This is the 6th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series--it can be read as a standalone. This was a little different than the other books in the series in that the mystery wasn’t linked to Josie’s personal and professional life. The mystery takes center stage, pushing Josie’s personal life to the side. Outside of one potentially major personal development, Josie's personal life is almost drama free!
The Josie Quinn books always push the line of believability, but this one was probably the most realistic. However, there are still a few questionable moments! Josie's ability to solve the case with such ease didn't seem realistic, but I am not going to gripe on this element too much!
The case is interesting, but I didn’t care much about it. I wanted more of Josie, Noah, Gretchen and other regulars who show up in this series. Overall, this is a good, fast-paced, and satisfying read. I am hoping the next book puts Josie and her team back in the spotlight.

Josie Quinn is back on the case in book six of the Josie Quinn series!
Seven-year-old Lucy Ross goes missing from a playground she was at with her two parents. Josie Quinn immediately begins looking for her, but there are no signs of the little girl anywhere. Minutes count when children go missing and once Lucy's backpack is found with a note inside - a note form the kidnapper - "answer your phone, or your sweet little darling will die…"
More manpower is called in and the series regulars I have come to love (Noah, Gretchen, Luke, Misty, Trinity) are also on the case. Once again, Regan continues to show character development with her characters in this series. While most books in this series can be read as standalone novels, I believe this book best serves as a bridge to what is yet to come as Regan sets the stage for more character development and relationship development in the next book.
With most of her books, Lucy's kidnapping is not the only mystery. There were many questions in this book, and I was looking for many answers. Regan is a master at linking the main plot and subplots in the end while building the tension and suspense. Any parents who has, even temporarily had their child go missing form their view, knows the gut-wrenching fear and anxiety, and swell of relief when you see your child again. What happens when you turn your back for one second, turn back around, and can’t find him/her? What happens when seconds turn into minutes, then hours, then days? Regan did a fabulous job of showing the effects a child's kidnapping has on each parent and their marriage.
Another solid hit by Regan who has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I'm highly anticipating the next book in the series. I found this to be a fast and satisfying read that kept me wondering what would happen next. What would the italic sections reveal and who was behind it all!This is a highly addictive series and I can't get my hands and eyes on these books fast enough.

EXCERPT:Their argument crashed in angry waves against the door between us, slamming against the wood, pooling on the floor and slipping underneath where I could hear every word. Most of the time, I didn't understand what they were saying or even why they were fighting. I only understood that she was about to get hurt; the silent way, or the screaming way. I was never sure which was worse.
no matter how badly he hurt her, she always found her way back to our room eventually. She's lower herself into our creaking bed, hissing her breaths through gritted teeth, and reachfor me. I learned to be very careful when I moved under the covers. Sometimes even the slightest pressure would make her gasp with pain. As gently as I could, I would curl my back into her stomach and wait for the trembling fingers skittering over my scalp to eventually fall into a slow soothng rhythm.
I had so many questions, but I didn't ask them. I didn't want the man to hear me, to remember I was there too. When the ragged edges of her breath smoothed out, she'd let out a soft sigh that meant she had reached a point where her pain was bearable.
'It's okay,' she'd say. 'It will be okay.'

MY THOUGHTS: 5 super-novas!!!!!
If you are planning on starting this book, don't plan on doing anything else....it is one of those 'just one more chapter' books. The sort where ten chapters later you are still telling yourself that you will read just one more chapter before you go cook dinner....and end up ordering in. I read this in one sitting, couldn't put it down.
I didn't even stop reading long enough to highlight anything, or select possible passages for my excerpt...that has never happened before!
Breathtaking, heartpounding tension, this has to be the best book in the series yet, and the earlier books have been excellent.
Don't waste time reading my review...just read this book!

I just love, love our main character here Josie and Lisa Regan has given me another reason to love her more. With each story, Josie develops a little more and we see more into her and her heart. In this installment, we see another side to Josie and it's not to be missed.
Josie is on the race to find the kidnapper of a missing girl. Just how Lucy goes missing is chilling and unsettling but not in a graphic way. It's a real eye-opening and had me rethinking a few things when I am out and about. I highly recommend this series and this one for Josie lovers.

The sixth book in the Detective Josie Quinn series begins with seven year old Lucy Ross being snatched from a playground. Josie is there when it happens and it becomes a personal cause to discover who is responsible.
Gretchen, Noah, Mett, Trinity and the rest all appear as characters involved in the hunt for the perpetrator. The story line is gripping and although it seems obvious one of the adults prominently involved is the cause of the abduction it is hard to see why. Of course Josie is able to find the solution in a very exciting conclusion.
This such a great series. I am reading the books one per month in a challenge. Left to myself I would binge the whole series!

Josie Quinn is back! Can’t believe this is book six! This is hands-down one of my absolute favorite police procedural series, I just love Lisa Regan’s writing style. This time Josie is on the hunt for a missing child. While at the park with young Harrison Josie has a front row seat when little Lucy disappears into thin air after a ride on the carousel. The kidnapper has left several messages implying that this is personal and Josie is convinced that the parents are keeping secrets. As the body count rises the tension increases, will Josie solve the crime in time?
This book had a little bit of a different feel to it. The rest of the books in the series have a personal connection to either Josie or one of the other members of her team. Both Gretchen and Noah are in the story, but neither of them play a very significant role. So while I was interested in the story I missed the personal touch. I think one of my favorite parts of this series is Josie and how much her character has developed over the course of the series, there was a little of that but not as much as I would’ve liked. Having said that the mystery was very well done. The kidnapper/killer was quite disturbed, diabolical, and cunning. I was completely invested and liked how all the pieces came together. Cannot wait to see what’s next for Josie, Gretchen, Noah, Trinity, and Luke.

Detective Josie Quinn is babysitting her friend Misty’s two-year old son Harris and they’re having fun in the park. Her attention is drawn to a seven-year old little girl named Lucy who is heading for a collision with Harris on the slides until Josie and the child’s mother, Amy Ross, intervene. Amy collects her and they go take a ride on the carousel. When the ride stops, Amy calls for Lucy and she’s vanished in plain sight. Josie assists along with father Colin but soon she realizes the need to call in reinforcements.
the heart of the story…
There is nothing worse than a child going missing. Lucy has a love a butterflies and even her backpack is shaped like one. She had it on the carousel and was wearing distinctive clothes but no one saw her leave. Josie, her team and the FBI worked round the clock to find her before it was too late. But it’s Amy who’s a consternation, clearly not opening up about something. And the kidnapper is focused on her…with deadly consequences to people in her orbit.
the narration…
Kate Handford is a skilled storyteller and she was particularly so here, bringing all the tension and suspense. Loved her performance.
the bottom line…
It was akin to peeling an onion trying to unravel the who and why of Amy’s life and figure out the same with Lucy’s kidnapper. There’s an anonymous narrator as well and who gave me some clues but not enough. This was a real puzzler and wracked my nerves as Lucy’s fate was in the balance. It helped that all law enforcement groups checked their egos at the door. Be prepared to be unsettled. 4.5 stars

She's a beautiful little girl, 7 years old with bright eyes who giggles and skips instead of walking and has a love of butterflies. At the park with her mother, she wants to ride the carousel, but as the ride ends, Lucy disappears.
Detective Josie Quinn happens to be at the same park, babysitting a friend's young son. She immediately goes into police mode, shutting the park down, calling for a lot of backup, setting up search teams and calling in the search dogs. But Lucy is gone.
As with all missing children cases, the police first look at parents, siblings, other family members and then going farther out .... teachers, friends, friend's families. But it boils down to one family member who may have secrets ... but do these secrets reveal a kidnapper?
This was a fast paced, well written story. Starting with a bang, the suspense doesn't let up until the very last page. The characters are all finely drawn, the reader can feel the emotional upheaval coming in waves from the pages.
Although 6th in the series, this reads well as a stand alone. As usual, I highly recommend starting at the beginning so as to not miss those nuggets that make this a standout series.

I always get excited when a new Lisa Regan book comes out - especially when it is a Josie Quinn story. Can't believe this is number 6 in this series already. In my opinion this series keeps getting stronger with each book. I love getting to know Josie and the people she works with, her family and what makes her tick. There was not a lot of this in Her Silent Cry but there was glimpses and I hope that book 7 will take this further. Once again this was a fast read for me, a quick paced police procedural that is in no way predictable.

That was just so...tense. Seven year old Lucy Ross disappears from the carousel in the playground at Denton park. Her mother, Amy, was on the carousel with her. Her father was waiting at the gate. There were many people in the park that day, including Detective Josie Quinn. No one, not one person saw what happened to Lucy, saw where she went.
An extensive search finds no trace of the girl. Finally the parents get a call, confirming that Lucy has been kidnapped. The kidnapper taunts Amy Ross, it’s personal. Josie probes for answers but Amy, while definitely being cagey, insists that she has told the police every thing relevant.
As Josie peels away the layers of Amy Ross’s life the awful truth about her past becomes apparent. But will it help them to find Lucy before it’s too late?

Josie Quinn is at the local park when seven-year-old Lucy Ross disappears after riding the merry-go-round. Her mother, Amy Ross, looked away for a second and she was gone. Josie quickly calls in her team and leads the investigation into Lucy's disappearance. As the case proceeds, Josie comes to the realization that Lucy's parents may not be telling everything they know.
This is the 6th book in the Josie Quinn series. It was a solid mystery, but it wasn't a favorite for me. Even though the usual people (Noah, Gretchen, Trinity) made appearances in the story, they were more or less out of the action. I never had a clue who was behind the kidnapping, but I did figure out one of Amy's many secrets. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I was fully engrossed within 30 seconds from starting to read it. Lisa Regan is masterful with her ability to write exciting, tension filled drama. “Her Silent Cry” is easily in the top 3 psychological, detective stories I’ve read this year. The non-stop action is driven by query and dialogue without much prose. There’s barely time to take a breath or a comfort break.
Altho’ this is book 6th in a series, it stands alone quite easily. Even with limited character development, it was not difficult to get a handle on the relationships between the “regulars” and the heroine, Josie. In fact, her twin and two boyfriends offered unique foils that aided in solving this emotionally driven, horrific crime. To say much more about it would be spoiler city...
I was impressed with Regan taking the high road and refraining from all manner of foul language, gratuitous and descriptive violence or sexual content. It’s absolutely refreshing when an author relies on skill, not cheap shock value. The writing and editing are both top notch and this author is one I’m adding to my follow list📚

Lisa Regan has quickly become one of my favorite author because of this series. Absolutely love them and am always looking forward to the next.

What they thought was a lost child quickly evolves into an abducted child. A very secretive mother who won't tell anyone about her past and a father who has a job that can attract many enemies. Who has taken sweet Little Lucy?
I recommend this entire series highly but you can read any of them as a stand alone. Each book is filled with mystery and suspense that draws you in to the point you don't want to put the book down.

3.5 creepy kidnapping stars
This is book #6 and I do love Detective Josie Quinn. This one centers around a child kidnapping and kept me turning the pages. The kidnapping kicks off the book and happens right under the nose of her parents. Josie just happens to be at the park at the time and things go into high gear to find the missing child. The FBI get involved quickly and I enjoyed reading about how they investigate.
The parents are interesting characters, and neither is telling the full story, but both love their daughter Lucy and will do anything to get her back. The kidnapper is creepy and seems to know everything about Lucy, her family, and the small town. The tale is fast paced as bodies start piling up and they are no closer to finding Lucy.
I really enjoy the characters in this series, and I root for Josie to solve the case with her boyfriend Noah supporting her all the way. I didn’t find this to be the strongest book in the series, but definitely worth a read and I will keep reading this series to see what pickle Josie finds herself in next.

This series continues to get better with each installment. Case in point … Her Silent Cry by Lisa Regan. The 6th book in the Josie Quinn series.
When the story opens Josie is at the city park babysitting her friends son, Harris. She notices a notices a young girl with blonde hair and a butterfly backpack with her mother. She continues to play with Harris, trying to keep up with a two year old when she hears a woman's increasingly frantic calls. Seven year old Lucy Ross, the giggling little girl with the blonde hair and butterfly backpack has disappeared. One minute she and her mother were riding on the carousel and when the ride ended Lucy was gone. Josie is a professional. She knows that minutes count when a child goes missing. She calls in the Denton police department. A search is started. Volunteers help. Nothing. Gone without a trace.
Denton is not big. The state police are called in and K-9 units. When no trace of Lucy is found it begins to like a child abduction. The FBI is called in. First Lucy's backpack appears in the carousel with a note … "answer your phone, or your sweet little darling will die…". Next comes a phone call. The caller ID shows it is from Lucy's nanny but when they answer the phone they hear a male voice taunting them. Josie and the FBI rush to the nanny's apartment only to find her murdered in her bed.
As they investigate questions arise about Lucy's parents. Especially Amy Ross, Lucy's mother. The kidnapper's taunts appear to be directed at Amy and she appears to have secrets and a mysterious past. The race is on to find the truth. To bring little Lucy home. In the meantime people connected to the Ross's continue to die.
This was heart pounding, page turning thriller of a story. You find yourself with a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye because at the center of the story is seven year old Lucy Ross. An innocent child with bright eyes, who giggles and skips, who loves ladybugs and especially butterflies.

Josie starts searching right away and quickly spots Lucy's backback, which was described by her frantic mother. Shockingly, there is a message inside of the backpack, and it says for them to answer their phone, or else their daughter might die..
Both Josie and her team, as well as the FBI search high and low for Lucy. With eerie phone calls and tragic murders, hope is something difficult to come by. Will Lucy's parents ever see her again? As things progress, secrets are revealed when it comes to the parents, but there is also something that personally affects Josie.
I have read most of the books in this series so I am quite familiar with Josie, her team, and her family. Although they are all in this book, the focus is on the case at hand. So, those who have not read the previous titles should have no problem finding themselves quit engaged in this story. Her Silent Cry was a one-sitting read that kept my interest from the very beginning, and the ending definitely made me catch my breath! I cannot wait to see Josie in action again.

Her Silent Cry (Detective Josie Quinn Book 6) was a thoroughly good read. Josie Quinn was enjoying a day off at Denton City Park Playground, when a child goes missing. Although the park is filled with people, nobody notices when seven year old Lucy Ross disappears from a carousel ride in full view of everyone waiting in line. Lucy who is obsessed with butterflies, is the only child of Amy and Colin Ross. Did Lucy simply just wander off, or was she abducted?

This series is great for anyone who loves a great mystery. This one kept me up late reading and was relentless. Josie jumps right in when a seven-year-old girl goes missing and soon has peeled away the layers on a very intriguing case.
Josie and little Harris are spending the day at the park which has recently acquired a real carousel. They have a chance encounter with a girl who wants to up the slide instead of down it. A little while later that little girl has vanished from the carousel when her mother has her back turned. Seconds and little Lucy is gone. An all out search ensues but there isn't a trace of her to be found until Josie searches a place that had already been searched and finds little Lucy's butterfly backpack with a chilling message inside.
Now a missing child is a kidnapped child, and the FBI descends on Denton, but the lead agent sees in Josie a very savvy and competent officer and is willing to work with her and her team. The next morning the kidnapper calls and only wants to talk to Amy, Lucy's mother. Shortly after the sitter's dead body is discovered.
The kidnapper is playing a deadly game with Josie and the Ross family and Josie has to use all her instincts to uncover just why this family has been targeted and what the kidnapper really wants. When another body is discovered, it becomes clear to Josie that Amy Ross is not telling them everything they need to know.

Once Acting Chief of Police, Josie Quinn is now doing what she is best suited for. She’s back to being a detective and happy. She is learning to love her new-found family, but it is keeping her busy. So is dating Detective Noah Fraley.
My Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
Seven-year old Lucy Ross disappears from the park carousel while her mother Amy rides the horse right in front of her. Her father, on his cell phone while waiting for them, sees nothing. Detective Josie Quinn, who is also at the park with Misty's 3-year old son, sees nothing either. However, she quickly gets the police involved to search for this young child. With cell phone pictures and videos from others in the playground turning up nothing, how could this child just disappear? Did she wander away on her own, or was she taken? But how?
When the family gets a call from their nanny, the voice on the other end proves to be that of the kidnapper. The nanny is found dead. And so it goes, the kidnapper is playing a game, and Amy seems to be the ultimate target. What is it about Amy that has angered this man so much that he wants to hurt her so bad by taking everything she loves? What is she hiding? More will pay the price before they even have a chance of finding Lucy.
My Opinions:
Josie is a strong and likable female character, and I like how she defended her ideas when her boss questioned them. The characters are getting depth. I am glad that the mess with Luke is in the past, which as far as I am concerned should not have been in the last book at all, and then I wouldn't have been forced to read about it again....as far as I am concerned it was out of character for Josie.
The plot was interesting and held my attention from beginning to end. Although fairly evident, it was interesting how Amy's back-story was told without it being stated as to what those chapters were. There was a lot of action, and it was a fast read.
This series continues to deliver, and I am looking forward to more of Josie!

Saweet baby geebus in a canoe.
What a journey. I’m exhausted! I read this book in 3 hours...I literally could not put it down. I baked and read. Man oh man this author is a flippin’ genius in this genre.
I think what I love the most about this authors characters is how they are smart, strong, slightly abrasive and hands down bad ass. They are carrying baggage but are still relentless in the pursuit of doing what’s right.
Josie is determined with every case she lands to give it 200%. I love that she looks at things outside the box. I love that she keeps at it, never giving up. This story involved the disappearance of a seven yr old. Which is every parents nightmare.
The plot was twisted and so intricate as well as intriguing. The way this author weaves her story never ceases to blow my mind. And honestly as of yet I have not read any book I haven’t devoured and loved. Her talent amazes me.
Even at book 6, you are still riveted with the characters as they grow and evolve. Another epically great book by a talented woman! MUST READ!

What a fantastic read! I didn’t put this down until the end. I love Josie and had to read this when I saw it. Brilliantly written, and one of my favourite authors. Can’t wait for the next one.

It should have been a great day out at the park for Detective Josie Quinn she was looking after Harris the son of her ex-husband(long story)
This quickly turns into a nightmare when a couple Amy and Colin who are out with their daughter Lucy at the park suddenly disappears.
This is a not a straightforward case because as Josie and her team delve deeper into the case they call in the FBI. When the parents Amy and Colin take a polygraph the mother fails the test. There are no immediate red flags and they put it down to stress. But as time goes on it soon becomes clear that the mother’s identity is false, who is she?
The kidnapper is killing people close to the Amy and as we see the story play out the connection to do with the mother is slowly and painstakingly being revealed.
Josie keeps trying to gently coax information from Amy who I found very frustrating because she was not forthcoming. When we eventually find out the truth it is devastating. Will they eventually find Lucy…. The race is on….

Detective Josie Quinn is part of the huge team searching for an abducted child in this thriller that kept me turning the pages fast and furiously.
What it's about: Lucy is a seven-year-old girl who loves butterflies and who lives with her well-to-do parents, Colin and Amy Ross in Denton, Pennsylvania. When at a local park, Lucy gets off the carousel and vanishes. Soon the FBI is called in to help with the search but they have no leads and things are very bleak. Then, they hear a message from the abductor. There's another message as well -- a body. Then another. It seems the kidnapper has an agenda but Josie can't wrangle any information from Amy about who might have taken her child. Although there is a half-hearted ransom demand, the kidnapping doesn't seem to be about the money. It turns out that Amy has some huge secrets. NO SPOILERS.
Why you should read it: This is a great series that has really grown on me as I've come to know Josie, her boyfriend, Lieutenant Noah Fraley, the other police officers under her command, and her family and friends. All of their collective history makes each book like a family reunion as you get updates and new information about them. But the focus is also on this complicated child abduction case. There are some interesting twists and turns as the narrative plays out and the procedural details of the investigation are described. Some very tense moments and lots of drama surround this missing child scenario. The writing is excellent and the pacing is perfect to keep your tension high. I have read all of the installments, in order, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Although there is a half-hearted ransom demand, the kidnapping doesn't seem to be about the money. It turns out that Amy has some huge secrets. NO SPOILERS.
Why you should read it: This is a great series that has really grown on me as I've come to know Josie, her boyfriend, Lieutenant Noah Fraley, the other police officers under her command, and her family and friends. All of their collective history makes each book like a family reunion as you get updates and new information about them. But the focus is also on this complicated child abduction case. There are some interesting twists and turns as the narrative plays out and the procedural details of the investigation are described. Some very tense moments and lots of drama surround this missing child scenario. The writing is excellent and the pacing is perfect to keep your tension high. I have read all of the installments, in order, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Maybe I need a break from the series.
I still enjoy the writing, but the logistics of the stories is getting more far fetched.
Denton is described as having about 30,000 people -at one point, in some book in this series.
Book 1 Serial killer, who murders a shit-load of girls. No one can figure anything out except SUPER-JOSIE
Book 2 A serial killer who beats and steals infants, hundreds of cops no ideas, but SUPER-JOSIE saves the day
Book 3 Josie’ mother was not who or what they thought she was. More serial killing.
Book 4. Gretchen becomes an idiot. SUPER-JOSIE to the rescue. ludicrous story
Book 5 A stupid , stupid story where Noah’ character changes completely, Josie is an idiot. Noahs sister deserves a punch in the face and the story is stupid. A woman with dementia starts saying things that don’t make sense and people she hasn’t had anything to do with for 20 years somehow hear about it and worry that someone will tell the police what the demented woman mumbles about. Of course everything is solved because SUPER-JOSIE knows where secrets are buried when no one else can figure anything out.
Book 6 another serial killer this time focused on hurting and getting even with one person and kidnapping her child. The story is entertaining,FBI is useless but…SUPER-JOSIE!
I have 3 more books in this series and enjoy some of the stories, but find it stupid that no one has any clue about anything. In one book, HUNDREDS of police, FBI etc are involved and not one idea yields anything unless it was JOSIE who thought of it. With 50 cops on the ground, only JOSIE can run out and try and drag someone to safety.
Every cop in the USA should retire, because SUPER-JOSIE can solve anything anywhere. Just call her, she’ll figure it all out and get the bad guy and not only that, in a 2,500,000 acre forest, she can find the one tree that one person is hiding in.

Als de zevenjarige Lucy Ross spoorloos verdwijnt, zet de hele stad zich in om haar te zoeken. Het is inspecteur Josie Quinn die de eerste aanwijzing vindt: Lucy’s rugzak, met daarin een briefje met een huiveringwekkende boodschap: Neem altijd op, anders zie je haar nooit meer terug.
De volgende dag krijgen Lucy’s ouders een telefoontje van de oppas. Ze hopen vurig dat zij Lucy heeft opgehaald en dat de hele verdwijning een misverstand blijkt, maar in plaats van de oppas krijgen ze een mannenstem aan de lijn. Josie snelt naar het appartement van de oppas en vindt haar levenloze lichaam in een wirwar van lakens op haar bed. En de telefoontjes blijven komen…
Josie wordt geconfronteerd met de gevaarlijkste zaak uit haar carrière: elk nieuw telefoontje eindigt met de vondst van een lijk. Er is een gestoorde moordenaar aan het werk die pas stopt als de familie Ross compleet is vernietigd. Maar spreken de familieleden zelf wel de waarheid?
'Haar stille hoop' is inmiddels al het zesde deel van de serie met Josie Quinn in de hoofdrol. Ook deze keer had ik het verhaal snel gelezen. De spanning was dan ook weer goed voelbaar.
Deze keer gaat het om de verdwijning van de zevenjarige Lucy. Niemand weet waar ze is gebleven en kort daarna krijgt de moeder van Lucy telefoontjes. Na elk telefoontje valt er een dode, dus dit vond ik een goed bedacht concept.
Josie raakt steeds meer betrokken bij deze vreemde verdwijningszaak en ook haar verleden komt weer aan bod. Daarom is het echt verstandig om deze vanaf het eerste deel te lezen.
'Haar stille hoop' was wederom vlot geschreven. De hoofdstukken zijn lekker kort en de spanning is voor een groot deel voelbaar. Vooral de mysterieuze telefoontjes vond ik erg goed en ik was steeds benieuwd wie het volgende slachtoffer zou worden...
Ik heb dan ook weer genoten van dit deel en kijk uit naar het vervolg!

What a great series this is. After having read the previous part, you might think this can’t get any better, but hey guess again. The author shakes this out of her sleeve as if it’s as simple as learning the ABC. It’s so great when a book can have you utterly mesmerized and leaves you gobsmacked after the final revelations.
The story also contains a big amount of emotions. It broke my heart but I also wanted to slap Lucy’s mum. I On the one hand I understood her, on the other I did not at all.
And then there is Josie. You just have to love and admire her and the way she and her team interact. She is awesome.
This sixth book was a masterpiece once again. 5 stars.

Another great book from Lisa Regan. This series is so good and keeps getting better and better.
Josie is at the park when a girl goes missing and soon she’s knee deep in the case.
Noah and the rest of the team are there for Josie but when it’s clear it’s an abduction, the FBI are called in.
Lucy’s parents are beside themselves with worry and when they get a message from the person who has her, they don’t know what to do.
Each time a phone call comes in someone is killed so they start to worry whether Lucy is still alive.
It soon comes to light that Lucy’s mum has some things she’d rather keep to herself but Josie is determined to get to the bottom of it.
The story builds up to a nail biting conclusion that had me on the edge of my seat.
This is a fantastic series and I can’t wait for the next book.
