January Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests

If you roll:
1-1: The current leader must move back 3 spaces on their game board and read the book where they have landed next.
Any combination totaling 7: You move 7 spaces and stay on that space, but you may read the book you land on OR one book forward or one book back - - your choice.
6-6: Don't like the book you will land on? You may roll again.
3-1: You get to take pick someone's next move on the board. The admins will use random.org to decide who will be moved. You get to decide which book they must move to next on their game board - - backward or forward -- within a 15 book radius. So you can move your opponent up to 15 spaces back or up to 15 spaces forward to the book of your choosing. Should you be reluctant to move another player ,or if you do not respond to an administrator's request to designate the move, random.org will move the player - odd rolls will move the player backward and even rolls will move the player forward.
2-1: You may use up to 3 of your participation points to move yourself ahead up to 3 spaces.
6-5: You must read a book that's on someone else's board and NOT on your own before you may roll again. (extra note here: you may read the book you land on first and then read the other person's book, or vice-versa. So two books must be completed before you re-roll).
4-4: Receive 4 participation points for the next book you read/review.
2-3 Get an extra "swap" that you may use anytime during the game.
6-4 Earn a surprise advantage to use anytime during the game

Please note these rolls were made using www.random.org, and they were not done in alphabetical order, so if you have the same roll as your neighbor on the list - - that's just a coincidence.
**Make sure to look to see if you have a special roll. I counted at least 9 people who do. Note the order of the dice does not matter so a 6-5 equals a 5-6.**

Hi Anita,
I just want to make sure I am reading this correctly. Since my roll was 2-3 I would be on book #5 of my list correct?

Exactly right!!
In addition you have a special roll so you have earned an extra swap. It would be helpful if you would note that underneath your board (just date and extra swap earned). I will also be tracking it in a spreadsheet, but it's helpful.

Mine totals 7 so special! Need to go see what my list options are.

You are on 8. It didn't look as if it is a "special" roll, so just start with your eighth book.

Nicole D, you actually have a 2-1. Still special, but not the same issue.
Nicole 1-1
Nicole D 2-1
However, Nicole will face the same issue. I should have thought of that. Allowing the 1-1 to be used later doesn't really work as it creates perverse incentives, so I'm just going to leave it as a standard roll unless there is a leader to move.

You are on 8. It didn't look as if it is a "special" roll, so just start..."
Are you all set? You should be reading Lost Roses. You need to bold it on your list. Do you know how to do that?
To do it:
1. Edit the post with your game board
2. Click on (some html is ok) in the upper right hand corner of the post box.
3. There are instructions entitled "bold text" and you will see the markers to type in front of the word, Lost, and after the word, Roses, to make it appear as bold.

You may request your initial roll on January 2nd.
If you request your roll by 3 pm EST, administrators will do their utmost to relay your roll (along with any others that were requested) by 9 pm EST on the same day. Requests after 3 pm will be included in the next day's batch of rolls.
All rolls for a given day will be relayed at once on a post for that date. The post will include the player name and the roll they received.
You may request your next roll as soon as you've reached the halfway mark in your current book.
Repercussions of any special rolls will be reported/managed here as well by the administrators. I will also try to PM people who are impacted.
