Book addicts support group, my phone made a mistake... :) Nyssa and Iain and the rest have been a permanent fixture for a while, but you guys really brought it in 2022! I hope you continue:)))

Haha! Old addicts, not old folks:))) We stay young because of the awesome books and even more awesome buddies:)))
Awww thanks so much Choko! I'm honestly so glad I found this group and stayed active.. It's been so nice actually being able to talk to someone about ALL the books! Even if I have more of a book addiction now :) 🧡
Haha! Emily, we are a horrible addiction support group! We are great at making the addiction worse, but Ooohhh, what a marvelous addiction it is:))) And talking about all the books makes the experience so much better!
Thanks y'all! And dittoing Choko's toast for less stress and more joy in the new year! That's a resolution I can get behind... Hugs all around! And dittoing Emily too, looking forward to that Mavis scene in the next one. :)

I found book number 2 in charity shop! Over 100 pages behind me :) I really like Eva :) why on earth she's so afraid to admit her feelings to Roarke?
Monika wrote: "I found book number 2 in charity shop! Over 100 pages behind me :) I really like Eva :) why on earth she's so afraid to admit her feelings to Roarke?"Oh. You have much to uncover!!
I'm so glad you can join us fully!!
Sending you an official welcome to your newest obsession! :D
Speaking of obsessions. I am writing my mini reviews for each book in the Vengeance in Death / Holiday in Death / Conspiracy in Death / Loyalty in Death / Witness in Death omnibus and reading book #10 Witness in Death. What book are we supposed to be on at this point? I have lost track.
The reviews will be similar to my updates for each book. I may or may not add additional details (it's a memory and mood thing).
In the future, however, I am encouraged to start working on my reviews as I read a book, especially when in the format of an omnibus.
I did that with Nine Princes of Amber and feel it helped me immensely. It allows me to write enough of a review to where I'll remember the details should I reread the review later but still avoid adding spoilers.
I can't tell you how many of my previous reviews I've read, and I had no idea what I meant at the time.
I am also attempting to make/keep a book journal this year for those very reasons. This will also be a time and mood thing. I hope I'm successful at it.
Those are great plans! I have always wanted to do that, but somehow never find the time and commitment to do it. However, I find it very rewarding when I actually sit down and write a real review, for myself that is, I don't really care if other people read it, but in case they do, I try to be non-spoilery and try to include whom it might be appropriate for. As far as which book we should be on, I am pretty sure #9. We are right on schedule!
Monica, yay!!! These books read so fast, and are written in a manner that keeps your attention throughout, thus you don't even notice time flying... You are still at the beginning of their relationship:) She is so clueless when it comes to any close relationships, that she tends to bungle them in the beginning no matter what:)
You're right Nyssa with this obsession LOL! Choko I'm almost done with book 2, less than 100 pages left hihihi, just about hour or hour and a half and I'll be done with it :)
See, what did I tell you:) They are like enticing bites of murder:) Kind of gruesome, but kind of true...
I finished Witness in Death and the omnibus last night. It was good too. The twist was well played!Since that pushes me like two weeks ahead, I'll take a Break In Death and work on the rest of my list for this month.
I started Fairy Tale by Stephen King this morning, and I will begin The Fairy-Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley at some point today.
Tonari no Emily wrote: "Break in Death xD that really made me chuckleSeems you have a theme, Nyssa with the fairy-tales! :D"
:D
As waiting for books from library taking ages, I decided to buy another 6 on eBay :) I started book 3. I like Peabody I think, she seems competent. Situation between Dallas and Roarke - interesting :) I'm on kindle ,so... No spoilers for peeps who catching up like me ;)
So glad you are enjoying the books, Monika! You are a speedy reader. I hope your household is getting healthier:)))
Hah! Nyssa, I love your ILI dubbing and your Break in Death! Needed that laugh today, thank you!Glad you're joining us Monika!
Thank you Choko. Slowly but surely coming out from this crap-y cold, little man seems ok, me and his Daddy still with bit of coughs. Almost reach 50% of book 3 yesterday. Didn't read as much as I could, lazy reader on Sunday ;) Maybe start Strange the Dreamer today.... We'll see.
Nirkatze wrote: "Hah! Nyssa, I love your ILI dubbing and your Break in Death! Needed that laugh today, thank you!"Glad to be of service! :D LOL
Monika wrote: "Book 3 finished! Omg! That was good one!"
Book #3 was my first 5-star of the series.
Yeah, #3 was pretty awesome! I think it's about when we really start falling in love with the characters...
Focused on other reads for a few days, and I'm 40 comments behind, here... sheesh :D
Starting Loyalty in Death now... sounds like one of the ones with the weird Robo-Voice Manifesto...

Time for my mini-vacation, to get a chance to catch up / overtake, on the leaderboards >:D

Here, Here!!! (Hear, Hear?... I'm not sure, honestly)...
Nyssa wrote: "I am almost finished with Loyalty in Death.
I haven't really been feeling this one, but I think it's more stress-related on my part than the story itself.
I do want to say, though..."
I think part of her spaciness comes from her made up words (Mag, Ice, etc), and the narrator's character voice (if you do audio, I forget, with all the people here)...

I've started changing the date in the title, when I update the week/month/book, so it's easier to figure out what book we're on, when I'm behind on updating the title... like, next week, if it still says Jan 9th, you know it's 1 book behind...

I hate it when tech eats my comments...
And dang, with your comments, I just realized I listened to the wrong story. Whoops! Apparently I just did Witness and thought it was Loyalty the whole time.
I just finished General impressions: (view spoiler)
I really liked how this one was structured like an Agatha Christie story. Very meta. I wasn't tracking any of the suspects (I still have a hard time keeping people straight on audio--I should try to look up cast lists before I start listening to things...).
And eeeeeekgh that ending revelation. (view spoiler)

That will help a lot. :)

I have not been officially diagnosed with any disorders. Still, I know accidentally reading a series out of order would cause an anxiety-induced reaction from me (It's why I can't 'skip' books).
The series order pages are actually one of the reasons I liked GR initially, and catching and fixing book-related issues is why I applied to become a librarian.
My issues aside, I agree with you about E&R. That whole scenario was one of my favorite parts of the book. (view spoiler)
OMG, Nyssa, you and I girl, have the same exact problem!!! I go insane if I have to miss a book or a chapter or if any of those are out of order! It was especially hard in college, because often the courses will start at Ch. 5-6, and will be staying home reading everything from page one, because I just couldn't do it!!! and if it finished with missing some chapters, because we were not covering that material, I still had to read everything in order... It was torturous! Let alone very time consuming, since you know how big those textbooks are. My 4.0 GPA was not worth all that anxiety..
