Spring is the time for newness, so we’re giving you a different kind of challenge. We are offering you’re idioms, expressions, and plays on the words “new” and “knew” – at least two for each letter, so you have options.

You knew we’d have something new for you, right?

DURATION:   March 20th - June 20th, 2015.

RULES: You decide on the word or words you want to spell for January and then, referring to our Letter Categories Part I & II provided in Posts #2 & Post #3 below, spell out your word. Spell anything you want that reminds you of Spring:
Sinter, new, knew, your name, the group’s initials, Easter, rain, rainy, rebirth, garden, flowers, swings ...
If you get in a bind, you may have one “save” per word. That means you may read a letter the traditional way; by using a title, author’s name (first or last), series name, or character’s name (first or last). In this case, you may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.).

Example: - Note the one “save” in the word.
S. - “New sheriff in town.” Open Season, by Linda Howard
P. - “Save.” P.J. Alderman, author of Haunting Jordan
R. - “New Releases!” Dead Heat, by Patricia Briggs
I.  - “New and improved.” Magic Bites, by Ilona Andrews
N. - “New York Minute.” Naked in Death, by J.D. Robb
G. - “Knew at a glance.” Hope Flames, by Jaci Burton
Open Season by Linda Howard Haunting Jordan (A Port Chatham Mystery #1) by P.J. Alderman Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega, #4) by Patricia Briggs Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb Hope Flames (Hope #1) by Jaci Burton
This challenge also appeared in Series Readers Anonymous and Anima contributed to some of the definitions.

It is my understanding (from Wiki, and they are never wrong, right?):
The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788 by Governor Arthur Phillip at Sydney; New South Wales at that time included all of what is now Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.
Is this not true? (What do I know of Australian history?)

Well practically, when Aussie was founded, it was basically all New South Wales. But we didn't try to hang onto any of the rest of it. Imagine mainland US divided up into 7 states. That's what we've got here now.

Nana | 4 comments Does anyone have any suggestions for New Zen? Some series that has a new religion thing going on other than the one linked? I'd use a save, but now that I've seen the prompt I really want to read a book with that theme.

Sandra The Harmony series by Jayne Castle aka Jayne Ann Krentz features a new religion in several of the books, including the first one.
