Also for those like me*sign* who didn't get an arc the first three chapters are up to read go to Victoria's website, and then next week the next four chapters will be up so we shall get the first seven chapters, if you know this already please forgive the nuisance!
Maven 100%. I like Cal too, don't get me wrong, but it's just that Cal is the typical "knight in shining armour" kinda character. It would be great to see an underdog character (Maven) be able to get the girl.

Kisses A I don't know if its true, it just seems like a lot of peeps that read glass sword hate Cal so I'm wondering why? Maybe I fell into a group of Cal haters haha idk
In don't know. I JUST DONT KNOW!!
You seem like a good person to be friends with Xavier
In don't mind small spoilers to keep me encouraged to wait but big ones are a no no.
Haha. How did you get an arc then? Do you have a blog?
Ahh. I see. But its really good?
Crudmuffins. I'm going to have to write that one down.
That one made me laugh out loud. Where do you get these from?!
Haha. I'll use them when I want to swear less.

Cal, he is so dreamy and hot, and I know its a little cliche that the good guy gets the girl but who doesn't want to have a passionate romance with a prince, that is literary spitting fire hot!!!
Bianca wrote: "Maven all the way like after his betrayal I was like, 'I fell in love with you and you betrayed me and the worst part is I still love you'.I will always love Maven now that his evil I love him even..."LOL! Technically I LOVE Cal! Since like the bar, I love him. I guess I liked Maven he was so sweet and stuff! <3 I stilled loved Cal even though she kept talking about him like he was a traitor. Then the end with Maven infamous betrayal. And I'm like "I KNEW IT!" (I didn't know it) and I'm all for Cal but I still like Maven because sometimes evil characters are the best! XD #Saturkus Ra I Am Number Four
Anahy wrote: "I disagree with you all. I don't really like either of them. Cal, to me, is a bit of an ass, while Maven…well, YOU know. Didn't like him when I started reading the book, still don't like him after...."YES. I feel like Cal isn't any better either. I'm Team Shade
I think that Mare will still have a lot of feelings for Marven but she will not want to admit this. I also think that Marven was really hurt at the end of RQ after his betrayal because he pretends that he does not care when Mare says mean things to him (which he deserved). He also pretends that the entire relationship stuff he had with Mare means nothing to him and it was all a fake. I can see through Marven's mask...
I feel so bad for Marven and Cal. I think Mare really stuffed Cal over when she went behind his back (for better or worse). Maven was so sweet and loving, to be honest it's really hard to believe he wasn't being genuine about his feelings. Although Maven does really confuse me and I'm conflicted about my feelings towards him. Though most of the book he seems so involved with Mare. Even at the end he seemed hurt when he saw her in prison. But it's all very confusing. Cal protected her in the arena, Maven sentenced her to death and showed no mercy, but Cal was to closed minded about the rebellion and his running of the kingdom. I'm not sure if Maven wanted the best for Mare in his heart. Can anyone explain Cal and Mavens actions to me?
Damn it maven! Why must you do this to me! Ugh I love maven so much even though he turned out different then how we thought. I still have really high hopes for him and mare.
Funnily, I have a strong feeling that it's Maven. Maven's character is much more complex and interesting, and now that they have a hate relationship, she'll have more drama to add in the story.
I really hope this is the case because if so the series would be so extraordinary.... I really like Marven and I hope he does not die by the end of the series. I believe that he was genuine to Mare but he had already decided to go through with his Witch of a mother so he acted as if he didn't care.
Ok for those who didn't read the first seven chapters, they are available, and may I say screw kilorn, he calls mare a freak and traps her and Maven is stupid, I don't about Cal even though he is my ultimate ship, Mare stop trusting dumb people, and stupid kilorn I hope you fall off the dang ship....
I really loved Maven from the beginning. He's a really complex character, but I know that Mare will choose Cal. But Cal is too stereotypical in my opinion, he's the normal dystopian love interest. Maven has this complexity, which could either make him even more interesting or could easily be messed up in the next book. I have this theory that Mavens mom is just messing with his mind to get herself in power. It kind of makes sense, but I guess it doesn't because no one else has thought of it

I would rather her choose no one than choose cal. If mavens innocence is proven than she should be with him!!!
Honestly, I'd rather Mare be with Maven. I'm tired of the main girl always getting with her stereotypical knight. Especially when the villain can be a potential love interest. And I found Maven to be a more interesting character against Cal as well. But I'm already prepared for the inevitable Cal endgame ;-;.
I wish for Maven and Mare to end up together. *sigh* But i also know that it is GOING to be Cal. I like Cal but i think he is way too perfect and it's too typical for the knight in dining armour to get the girl and save the day. I want to see something different. Fresh. Maven had a new side to him whenever he was with Mare. The love and regrets hidden inside him resurfaced now and then when he was with her. And with the amazing twist that Victoria pulled off in the first book, i can't help but hope she will pull off another twist and unite Mare and Maven. So I'm still rooting for Maven.
I didn't exactly feel the love Mare had for Maven. Even when he was doing his best to make her fall for him, I felt Mare just couldn't get over her attraction to Cal which was what annoyed me the most in the first three fourth of the book. It's like the authors just couldn't make it more obvious who the girl is going to end up with
First guy-Hot guy-Instant Attraction-Endgame
For her to end up with Maven, the story requires some skilled writing about redemption and second chances. I don't think Cal has some ulterior motives. He is too stereotypical for them and I highly doubt Maven has any more. Unfortunately, the title is also Red queen, so it will probably end up with Mare being the Queen and Cal the King

Everyone keeps hoping that Elara is controlling Maven and that none of his actions were genuine... When Mare, Cal, and Tiberius were controlled by Elara, it was obvious they were struggling and trying to fight her. Same with the guy in the arena against Samson in the beginning of the book. He tried to fight, Maven did not. Maven is going to be more complex than Cal because it creates that much bigger of a twist, it doesn't mean that Cal is a dud or stereotypical. Mare had to be really connected to Maven to feel the betrayal, which is why Maven seemed so perfect for her. I think if Maven does a complete character change it will be maybe when he dies trying to defeat Elara, or dies trying to protecting Mare/Cal. Cal was my favorite in the book because he didn't change his beliefs for Mare and he had trouble forgiving her for what she did. He didn't just hang around for her.
I love Cal's character. The only thing that would have made him perfect is better conviction. He seems torn between what he wants to do as leader & what's expected of him... I think if he could stand up for something he believes in he would be PERFECT!(view spoiler)
