PtP - Reading is K-ool (5)

2. Lead Rapper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of BTS, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 31 March.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.
For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS
For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review
Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.
IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this inforamtion in a NEW post. I don't want to have to keep going backwards in the thread.

Rules:
* Each team member MUST post their selection book into their team thread each week or they will be removed from the challenge. It isn't fair on your team-mates if you are not committed to participant each week.
* You MUST post your selection book in the week of the announced category. If you miss selecting your book (or pass) in that week, you will be removed from the challenge. The only exception is if you have contacted your team, team captain or one of the Mods with a valid reason. The decision to not remove you is solely up to the moderator running the game.
* You can only change your nominated theme book in the week that the theme is announced. You CANNOT change your book once a new theme is announced.
* '5 weeks' will be counted in blocks of five, with a new count starting in week 6.
* No-one can use the 'pass' option in the last week of the challenge.
* To qualify for a theme, the book's eligibility must meet the rules for the theme as posted each week (eg tagged, in the précis, MPG or found on an official list as contained in the theme announcement). Refer to the Q&A thread for more clarification on this rule.
* You can change your nominated book only during the week that it's theme is called.
* Books must be at least 100 pages in length.
* Anthologies and bundled books are fine, but you must read the full set.
* You must quote the page numbers for your selected book each week. Please quote the goodreads page numbers (any edition of the book is fine).
* The 'series' rule for Option 2 only applies to Option 2. The same book can be used under option 2 for multiple weeks so long as that book remains within the 6 month timeframe.
Important!!! If a team member falls behind by more than 2 books, they WILL be removed from the challenge. The team who loses that member will continue with the lower number of team-mates. This rule is to ensure that ALL participants are committed to their team and the challenge.
PLEASE NOTE - I will not remove, nor accept retirement from, any players in the last two weeks of the challenge. This will mean that the team cannot win if their players are MIA in the last two weeks.
IMPORTANT:
In the last week of the challenge, Option 2 will be altered. Book selections under option 2 will have to be taken from a different team's members' bookshelves. I will allocate the teams out on posting the final theme (week 11).
For example (and this allocation will be randomly done on the day of the last theme call)
Option 2 for Team 1 must come from the bookshelves of Team 4.

Themes:
* Read a book with a publication year ending in 2. That is, 2022 / 2012 / 2002 / 1992 etc.

Name Ideas:
Our Team Name Is… (literally leave it blank)
K-Pop Rappers
We don’t listen to BTS
Love Books not rap
Reading is K-ool

I’ve played a few times before - and already have a book selected for every theme except 14 - nothing on the provided lists appeal to me and I don’t have any of them.
If that theme is called I will read a book from a team mate.
Will send out friend requests as I haven’t played with any of you before I go to bed.

I primarily read UF, PNR, fantasy romance, and contemporary romance.
I really am not too familiar with K-pop and BTS, but love the enthusiasm for this challenge theme.

I’m not familiar with this genre of music so not sure of a suitable name.
Suggestions:

My name is Crystal and this is my first time playing PTP! Susan recommended it after another competition had closed out and I hope I enjoy just as much. I only read romance and now mostly MM, like it's a true obsession. I live in Rhode Island, so I'm on Eastern time. I like the name "Love books not rap" or maybe we could go with: Reading is K-ool ( K for Korean Pop)? That's all I've got for now haha

Hi AnnMarie!!

I have books put by for them all except 14 Jimin - Fabulous dancer, great singer and Gucci loves him as they sell out of everything he wears. He's also the member that many men would turn gay for (even though Jimin is not actually gay). Is he almost perfect?
I couldn’t find anything on the lists - and the author did not appeal - so if/when it gets called I’m hoping to use option 3 the pass. As I’ve checked the book shelves and only a couple of you have books that match, and none within the last 6 months.

I'll announce the first theme in 12 hours if you can confirm :)

Well 4 have agreed including our Captain. The other two haven’t commented much/at all 😀
So I’d say majority rules?

Works for me ;) I can change it if you decide on a different name...

I also have books for most of the categories. The other categories are like 9 in the page number which I can choose quickly or student athlete and this is a genre i read frequently so its also an easy find. The only category i am not really looking forward to is the colorful covers because i could not find one and i will probably just use option b for it.

The cover one stumped me as well although I haven't really looked past a quick scan of my TBR. Worst case I can re-read The House in the Cerulean Sea. I haven't run it through TinyEye but it looks like it would satisfy the category and I could re-read that book 5 times a year lol

ooooo. That is on my TBR list. Let me know what TinyEye says and I could definitely read it for that category. T.J. Klune is one of my favorite authors. I absolutely love his Werewolf series Green Greek.
