My maternal grandmother was from Romania and I have been fascinated with anything do to with Vlad Dracul since I was an adolescent. Going to Transylvania is one of my dream trips. So I loved that this book took place there. Also really liked the idea of there being a ghost writer feeding the story idea to Bram Stoker and parts of the book being removed before publishing. But the author got a little too wordy in some places like when they were digging up the floor in the church.
There were mixed reviews on this book but I liked it quite a bit.

Review:
A great beginning to what I'm hoping will become a long long series.

We are back at Neptune, tagging along with Veronica on the first big case she's had since the events of the movie. A college girl has gone missing and Veronica is tasked to do the corrupt sheriff's job and find her.
In the course of her investigation, which gets more complicated (view spoiler) she encounters drunk college kinds, cartel royalty and, surprisingly, her mother and her new family, (view spoiler) .
The mystery is more complex than she expected, (view spoiler) yet she proves yet again that she is excellent at what she does and manages to get to the truth, not without danger to herself.
Following her investigation felt different, yet very familiar, and the book read like one of the episodes in the series, with Kristen Bell's narration bringing the story to life and us back into the complex, very much missed world of Veronica Mars.
I look forward to listening to the next book in the series, Mr. Kiss and Tell, where, hopefully, we'll get to see more of Logan, who only appears in a few short scenes in this book.

I've been done with my N2U book, I'll get my review up tomorrow.

Well this was X-Men meets The Walking Dead with some love thrown in lol. I liked the characters enough and it was an interesting take on the ZA. It's also a standalone even though it's part of a series. The entire book completes the story by the end so I'm assuming the next one is just different MC's in another part of the world. I'd never heard of this until I picked it up and yes I'm shallow enough that the cover is what sold me lol.

This week's look at the bingo stats and where everyone stands.
We added Team 10 (sorry I forgot to mention you last week Bookworms) to the potential winner list, but once again Teams 3 & 8 are still without 4 in a row. A few Teams managed to add more potential winning calls to their list.
Team 1: blue/purple, black/gray, vampires
Team 2: yellow/orange, UF, vampires
Team 4: witches, vampires
Team 5: vampires, yellow/orange
Team 6: Sci-Fi genre, leather or lace, New2You Series
Team 7: leather or lace
Team 9: witches, Sci-Fi genre
Team 10: 1st,2nd,3rd in series, blue/purple

Of the shelves left to call

black/gray: Team 1

7 shelves will mean a race to the finish with more than 1 team in the running

yellow/orange: Team 2, Team 5 & Team 11

3.5 Stars (put 4 on shelf since no half stars)
Lots of bad reviews on this one but I found it very entertaining. Then again, I did not go into expecting anything ground breaking in the world of historical romances. I wish the Fortune Game with Aunt Agatha had lasted longer and the "Emma is so plain" mantra got a little tiring. But I liked how he fell for her first because it's so often the other way around.

This had a very slow start and at the beginning it definitely bothered me when they kept reminding me that he was 16 but talked and acted like an adult. I think it would have been a little bit better if they made him more older. It did pick up a bit near the end. I really liked Sevro as a side character reminded me of a lone wolf. I am kind of intrigued to see where this goes and see how far he gets. I think he will need Mustang's help even if it is against her own family though. The mars elimite of the book was done very well in the beginning but got away from it when they got to the school and learning element of it. I do want to read Red Queen and compare the two since so many say they are alike.

The game will probably end this week and we're not likely to win, but it has been fun!

I really enjoyed playing with you all and I hope to play with you again in the next round Devils. ;)

Well I guess this is the last one? The buildup was long and then the ending was over in less than 10 pages. I'm a little confused lol. While some things were wrapped up there's still something missing that keeps it from feeling final. I was glad to have Nina more of a presence in this one than the last book. I've enjoyed the ride when you're in a mood for a quirky read. I've kind of gone through all of my quirky series now...I'll have to find a new one or two!
