I've Started So I'll Finish Redux
This challenge was originally created by our gracious contributor, Charlotte (Buried in Books), for a decade! Many thanks, Charlotte! There was a request to continue it or offer something similar, so here we go with the 2022 Redux.

Duration: 1 year (from the start date)

Goal: Tidy up those series reads! Set your own goal by choosing a number of series or books to complete this year. Let's shake it up a bit by setting a minimum of 5 series or 10 books.

Set yourself a target - you have two options: Number of Series -OR- Number of Books

The Rules Remain the Same:
➥ You can join anytime
➥ Any genre is allowed.
➥ There has to be at least 2 books that you need to read to get up to date/finish the series (if you are going the series route).
➥ If you're getting up to the current release in a series, then it should be current as at 30th November (that way if it has a book coming out in December it's your call whether or not to include it).
➥ You can include the short stories/novellas between books if you wish.
➥ Audiobooks and re-reads are fine (as long as you read it properly - no skimming).
➥ Additions/changes to series/books as you go along are permitted

If you don't have all the books you need to get up to date (e.g you have 4 out of 5), then use the books you have - it's meant to be fun!

OK, so I've just 🤯! THIS is why I try to binge read most of my series and mostly wait until they are complete. The thought of all of these unfinished series (many of which I read years ago and is how I learnt my lesson) just makes my brain itch which is why I try not to most of the time.

I'm right there with ya. I've got so very many ongoing series, too. I wish I could wait until a series was finished before starting, but I just can't. I'm always drawn to the first book of a new series ... I'm incapable of resisting the potential for a new favorite series.

I have a severe problem with starting new series. Like Steph above, I can't finish one before I start another and another. I want to finish a series, I really do, but like dangling a new toy in front of a cat, I can't resist. When will I ever get back and finish???? I'll drop back by in a bit and list some series that have potential to be finished....but I'll definitely go with the 10 book idea. I don't trust myself.

😆 Yep. I've gotten a bit better and taken the suggestion of many in the group. When I was gifted Kindle Unlimited, I started finding series that were either complete or close to and started them so I'd have the option to binge the whole series, if I wanted to -- or could stand it. (<-- some author's have such heavy recaps I have to space out my reads vs binging)

Oh, I still grab the new and shiny, when I see them, can't resist. And, I have DOZENS upon DOZENS of "open" series to be finished.

4? That’s not too bad. I’ve got a shelf “one & done” and last time I added to it there were 24. They’ve been there quite a while. I really should get those read and completed … but, the shiny & new are calling me 😆
