Kelly, I'd like to have a buddy read of One of Us Is Lying with you. But I have another buddy read at number 2. Would you mind switching it to number 1 if you want to read this book together?:)

So everyone can plan (and we are a fastidious group of planners-LoL)
The 1st book for 2022 is #10
Happy Happy Holidays to one and all may 2022 be a very special reading year for you!

Directions for creating a link are in the (some html is ok) menu, on the far right, just above the comment box where you type a new comment.

I add some books to do buddy reads with you...

11. All Adults Here

Artemis by Andy Weir - fits the monthly tag and we get to have an Andy Weir buddy read-a-thon!
I've already read The Martian, but may add Project Hail Mary to read as well.

But the important thing to note is for Kellie, who I might just message on one form or another. Because she has project Hail Mary on her list at 16, and should know there is this Project Hail Mary Trim thing happening at 10 this very month like right now!
I’m also going to join her for stranger in the lifeboat number three. The only thing left that was confusing is that if Diana has Kelly move One of Us is Lying to number one, then Charlotte and Kelly just need to figure out a different match up for Lee Child’s.

So for the official thread we will be using, let’s think about what kind of links might be useful. Message one will have the entire list of buddy reeds plus the wheel of rotating trim pickers. And we are now 19 out of 22 participants with Kelly. To be clear, if more than 22 people sign up, that’s not a problem in terms of participating, it just means that you didn’t sign up in time to get to be a trim picker. So I imagine the important pages of the official thread will be the very first message, and the last few of any month that will be the announcement of the number. I saw it less for reviews, and certainly no lists but more of a community building thread. What and which links were you hoping the official thread might post? I am curious to hear more.

2. The Girls in the Picture by Melanie Benjamin

23. The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton
24. The Tuscan Child by Rhys Bowen

I only caught the buddy read with Joanne at 24, and I added myself for Lady Clementine with you at #1. Were there others I didn’t catch? Uploading the whole list in a few hours with yours, Charlotte, and Kelly…. Still in the car driving over a snowy mountain pass!

I’ve just quickly skimmed through all the lists, and I think there is also The Cactus at 6 with Kelly, and The Song of Achilles at 22 with Joanne.
Driving over a snowy mountain pass sounds amazing - I hope you stay safe and warm!

Hannah! Great will surely enjoy all three reads with you!

In virtually all of them, the basic rules / tasks / instructions for the challenge are outlined in thread # 1 (and sometimes # 2).
The next thread is reserved for a list of participants, typically listed in alphabetical order ... and the challenge coordinator creates a link for each participant so that they can go directly to their challenge posts without having to search through three or four pages of posts to find where they put their list and update it.
In our case ... having each participant's list as a created link in an early thread would allow any of us to check each other's lists that much more easily without worrying that we missed "Jughead's" post on page 4.
Here's a sample of what I mean For this particular challenge you can click on my name and see that it takes you to page 9, post # 436.

Amy don't half kill yourself trying to figure out IT stuff for an unofficial challenge and miss out on family time or reading time.
Thank you for taking on extra so the rest of us can do the challenge!

Ditto!

We'll see how ambitious I'm feeling after the holidays...

I also keep my list in an excel spreadsheet for easy reference.

Thank you! I'm sure I looked through twice, but I had company (until this morning), so was probably easy to overlook.

I have 3 choices The Last Ship, Extreme South or Atlantis Found They are all longish but I think I'll start with The Last Ship (I saw the TV series and liked that so we'll see if the book follows the usual rule of being better) which is the longest one.
Might do them all since it is the quiet month for work but will also still be finishing ATY due to having too many 700pg+ ones this year and not enough hours to read them all. 2021trim is the only unofficial one I did and the only challenge I might finish.

If you do Imposter Syndrome, let me know, it's sitting on my shelf and depending on my other reading, I could pick it up this month.

So, Amy, there will be a completely new thread when the unofficial challenge officially begins? Good idea.

But for this month only, Joanne, (who gets to pick twice) is going to randomly select our January number, and post it right here on this thread, so that those who are eager to get started with their planning or library ordering, do not have to wait for the official thread to begin. She can post it anytime after Anita posts the January tag. Thinking ahead, I will be on a plane tomorrow heading West, so I thought it was best to think this one through in advance. Hope everybody feels comfortable with that plan. Love to all, and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. A beautiful Shabbat and Weekend for all.
