I'm planning on finally read it next month, but I'll spread it, because, indeed, it's long! I've seen the tv series and it's complicated. You need to keep your head with it. It was good, but I hope the book is better.

I haven't read them yet either. I'm trying to figure out exactly where they fall in the Pendergast timeline. I'm thinking about reading them in order.
So far, I have that Nora Kelly #0.5 is Pendergast #3. I'm guessing that's when she was introduced in his series. Since Thunderhead is #0, I'm guessing it happens sometime before that. She was also in Pendergast #6, 7, & 9. I think Old Bones begins after that, but I'm not 100% sure. I think it would be fun to read her series with his weaved together. Does anyone know where the Nora Kelly books fall in that timeline?

I'm not exactly sure where, but Thunderhead falls somewhere before The Cabinet of Curiosities. It could go before, after, or between Relic and Reliquary.
Old Bones, The Scorpion's Tail, & Diablo Mesa all fall after Cemetery Dance, though I'm not sure exactly when. There could be other Pendergast books before or between them, but this is the general idea.

I have already read Relic, Reliquary, and Old Bones. I am ok with skipping or re-reading, depending on what we decide to do after Thunderhead.

Did you read Old Bones? It's book 1 in the series.

Nora Kelley and William Smithback met in this book.
I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that Nora Kelly series is a spin off and doesn't connect back in.

Sounds good, Christina. I'm working the next couple of days, so I'll take a look at my schedule when I'm back at home. I think you're right, Janice. I think Nora is in the few books mentioned (3, 6, 7, & 9), then doesn't really overlap with Pendergast. Though, he did make an appearance in Old Bones. I'm guessing her stories fit any time after Cemetery Dance. I read a quick summary of her story online and it gave a timeline of her appearances, so I know that her spinoff is set after that.
You could really skip a bunch of the Pendergast books and just read the ones she's in if you wanted to, but I figure I want to read his series anyway, so I might as well keep them in order.

Yes, Thunderhead was originally a stand alone book, but I but they have pulled it into the Pendergast series for a tie in book. As Janice said, Nora and Bill meet in this one. Bill is a character in the first two Pendergast books and a couple of others.
I have read all of the previous Pendergast books and have #20 Bloodless in my yearly challenge. I still need to read The Scorpian's Tale for Nora Kelly.
To be honest, I initially read/listened to most of the Pendergast series out of order - easy to do because of the way they were catalogued. I did not read Relic, Reliquary until after I had read The Cabinet of Curiosities.
I am waiting for the series for Corrie Swanson. who was introduced in Still Life with Crows - one of my favorite of the series! She was in Old Bones, as the young FBI agent.

Christina - Let me know if you still want to do a buddy read of Thunderhead. I'm thinking maybe March if that works for you too. Somewhere around the 10th? I think I read Still Life With Crows (book 4) first and then started at the beginning. I can't remember where I was in the series when I read Thunderhead.
