Option 1 Military: The Perfect Horse: the Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis by Elizabeth Letts
Ugh, the GR blurb is just awful for details, this review mentions Colonel Hank Reed, who is the main US character in the book.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
There was a precedent for saving irreplaceable works of art during the war, but Colonel Hank Reed's effort to save horses was something different. Reed, the most decorated American cavalry officer during WWII, recognized that there was something special about the horses at the Nazi stud farm at Hostau.

Task 50.1 Reading Adventure
Choose an Option and take a trip to three different continents through reading.
A. Books must be set 50% in the country where the story takes place.
B. No books set in the country where you live. In Option 3, no book set in the continent where you live.
C. Total page count for all three books must be 750+
A To my estimation, all three books are set 50%+ in the countries and continents I chose.
B. I live in USA North America and no continent or country is set in these places.
C. Page Count of the three books I erad :
Book 1: 368 pp
Book 2: 426 pp
Book 3: 464 pp
Total Page Count: 1,580
D: No books with MPG of children or kids were used.
I chose Option 3: World Tour.
Because I have always wanted to do it and I love flying to places.
Book 1: Antarctica
My first stop is all the way to the bottom of the world to the continent of Antarctica and specifically the South Pole.
I read South Pole Station by Ashley Shelby
South Pole Station
What a fun place. Average is -52 degrees. You have to wear protective clothing at all times. The food is actually pretty good here and the people are wackadoodles. Very interesting details about the South Pole Station and a read that exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.
Book 2 took me to the continent of Australia and specifically Perth which is on the western part of the continent.
For this task, I read CloudStreet by by Tim Winton
Cloudstreet
I always felt my native Texas had a lot in common with Australia and the main reason I have always wanted to visit there. I had an attract and repel experience with the book. It was interesting that these two different but poor families came to live in the same house from completely different places and got a little tiresome but I ended up liking it. I have become intrigued with Australia literature and noir so always looking for chance to read something set Down Under.
My final destination on this adventure is Egypt with the amazing Amelia Peabody and her family in Falcon at the Portal by Elizabeth Peters
The Falcon at the Portal
I love these books and haven't
read the entire series. It is sad she has passed because she was one of my favorites in the Mystery genre. The book was great!
