I always wanted to try State of Decay.
This is like a new world thats opening to me.
Plus my external ssd drive already arrived so, if everything goes well, i´ll be installing a shit ton of games today.

BTW. The only downside to the Series S, other than the lack of storage, is that the S can only play Xbox One S games and not the Xbox One X games. So no Xbox One X visual upgrades to 4k unfortunately.

Does it have a story i can follow in single player fashion?
You can absolutely play SOD solo. SOD 2 is essentially the first game with multiplayer coop grafted onto it. They are pretty hardcore zombie survival games. Build bases, collect supplies, grow a community. That simple description doesn't really do it justice imo. These are games that are extremely addictive in my experience. Once or twice a year I tend to start a new game and play until I'm emotionally exhausted. It's a great long-weekend kind of game.I agree with R(ob) that you wouldn't miss anything by jumping straight to the second game, although I have great memories of it and still have the map memorized.

Another think i need to ask about the Xbox store.
I was browsing yesterday under the tab "all games" and i realize it actually doenst have all games in there.
Like, i filtered the list to rpg´s and i got 50 or 60 games which doenst make much sense.
Then i searched for a specific game that wasnt on the list and it showed. That means it exists in the store.
Am i missing something?
I only shop sales, so I'm not much help there. I think there are simply to many games to list all, so it chooses most popular or most recently added. One of the best ways to search I've found is to open a product page of what your interested in (say Dragon's Dogma for fantasy RPG) and then there should be a large list of similar games toward the bottom of the page you can open up. This usually produces very accurate recommendations from what I can remember.

Just tried the Halo multiplayer beta. I suck really bad at it, so much so I find it embarrassing lol. It’s good, actually very good, but if I can’t get kills it doesn’t make it much fun. I’ll persevere but if I don’t improve I’m not taking a hiding every game like I am. I’ve played Halo multiplayer before, most of them, and although I’ve never been good I’ve never been this bad.
Oh, and in State of Decay you'll find hours of entertainment taking out zombies by opening your car door as you drive by and watch them explode into mist. Vehicles and transporting materials is a major game focus. I have the Halo multiplayer downloaded, but haven't tried it out yet. I haven't done Halo mp since Reach, so we'll see how I fare. I'm generally in the bottom half of any competitive shooter, so I don't like my odds hearing R(ob)'s story.

Got my external SSD for the Series S. It was dead easy to set it up and 1 minute later i had 1 TB of free space.
Installed a lot of games already.
Played a bit of Burnout Paradise with my kid and he was ecstatic. He never played a driving game before and it was really funny to watch him play. Also, the game runs smooth as hell in 60 fps. Goddamn!
I'm getting a bit too efficient at Skyrim. Finished the mages, thieves, dark brotherhood, companions and the stormcloak side-questlines already. Basically a few more daedric quests and the main story left, then all that will be left is mopping up the last misc trophies. Have enjoyed playing it again though

Go here wipe out fort, repeat 3 or 4 times, get a pat on the back, done. Not sure about others but can't say I've ever played any version of Skyrim for the story, definitely not a strong point

When i played on PC i used to have a mod that linked various actions sequencially. You had to "program it" and after that you could press a key and the character would heal, equip bow, use detect spell, and fortify armor.
I loved that mod.
I was playing Skyrim again not too long ago. I was enjoying it, but set it down shortly after getting my magical talking dog friend to wipe out several crypts for me. I don't remember why. I'm always impressed with how efficiently you get through all your many, many games Deck. You're a master of the craft.

The sad part about my Skyrim story is that i played the Ps4 version, completed it and the Morrowind expansion ( i dont remember the name) but, because i played it with mods, i have ZERO trophies earned. :(
Well, I may not be getting through Skyrim PS5 anymore. Not having a lot of luck with saves at the moment - went to stick it on there and the main save and all 3 autosaves all come up with a blank screen. I'll wait for a patch but have a bad feeling I've just lost 70 odd hours and will have to start again if I want to plat.

That sounds really serious. How many games did you have problems with?
Probably at least 4 or 5 now. It's just they've happened in a relatively short space of time, which is a little annoying
And to cheer myself up, I may have just hawed Psychonauts 2, Outriders and Art of Rally. Wasn't fussed on the Outriders demo but for £20 I'll give it a chance. Psychonauts 2 was one I was always likely to pick up once it was down and price. Art of Rally - I wasn't 100% convinced by what I've seen, looks a bit arcadey but fancy a bit of driving.So of course by the end of the weekend I'll probably be playing something completely different ;)

I started We Happy Few last night.
I went for it with really low expectations but i gotta say the intro grabbed me quite a bit.
Its really distopic and cartonish but when i wasnt expecting i found a place that had some really, lets say, dark past to it and it caught me offguard on how mature it actually is.
It almos seems to be an rpg as it has skill trees, inventory, crafting and a zillion menus for a zillion things but i havent seen experience points or levels anywhere so i wonder how the game will work.
It also has a hunger and thirst meters but it looks like their impact is minimal and you wont die of it which is nice.
The visuals are pretty good to.
Im excited to go back to it actually.
Good work all. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Outriders campaign, but it was one and done. Pyschonauts 2 I've tried a few times without getting much into it. Art of Rally I likened to a history lesson. I feel like Deckard may really end up liking it though, we'll see. We Happy Few I've always avoided because it is one of the worst reviewed games in recent memory. If it ends up getting the Glass seal of approval I might have to give it a go.Think I'll try out the Halo: Infinite multiplayer this weekend and see how that goes.

Art of Rally gets the thumbs up from me. Started and finished the career over the weekend and it's definitely better than I expected. Looks very platable too, I've only the 1000 stages left to do, which will be a bit of a grind since the career was only just over 200 but I think I'll chip away at it while playing Outriders alongside.It was also one of those that one of the more innocuous trophies ended up more trouble than the most difficult sounding one. I mean what sounds harder - wrecking your car so it can't continue or beating an AI time on master difficulty with the severe damage setting? But could I smash the car, no. It's a bit weird, you can wreck each individual part to the maximum but once you do it's impossible to destroy completely. The only way it seems is to pick the fastest car, build up enough speed and run into something, which is fair enough but you'd think you could wreck it through cumulative damage too. The master AI time is relatively straightforward, you don't need to win the individual stages, just pick a track you are close enough and your overall time will be enough. I was between 2nd and 4th over a 5 stage custom rally and scraped it
Outriders, once you get your powers it's a pretty solid third person cover based shooter. I think if I focused solely on it, it may become a bit repetitive but playing it beside Art of Rally has been breaking things up nicely.
Only gave Psychonauts 2 a quick go and quite liked. I'll get to it properly eventually.
And PS5 Skyrim has had a patch and my save game has returned! So I'll be going back to that soon enough to get yet another Skyrim ping

Also replayed a bit of COD Ghosts after rebuying that for £1.50 when I bought replacement dual shock 3. It was panned at the time but I think the campaign is great.

Just played Dark Souls all weekend again, lol. Made a +15 Greatsword which just pancakes everything or sends it flying. I'm camped at the start of Painted World of Ariamis, which I'll take on tonight.

We Happy Few is actually not that bad.
Its clearly not an AAA title but it has a lot of charm. Some bugs here and there and it lacks a bigger production for sure but its been really interesting so far.
The Series S is spoiling me. Im starting to have less patience for the loading times in the Pro...
My mum told me one of her friend's was looking a PS5 for their son but they sold out so fast she hadn't managed to get one. Same day I got an invitation from Sony to buy one. So I bought it and sent it to my mum's house. Texts me this morning. Oh she already got one now. D'oh.

I have one Pro´s in my mancave and one in my bedroom where i mostly play and my Series S in the living room cause its suposed to be a family console. Im slowly considering moving it to me bedroom. The only reason i havent done so far is due to the huge PS4 backlog i still have to play and i dont want to have two consoles in there.
But im starting to feel a bit stupid for having to wait so long for loadings and the 30 fps you mentioned.
I'm still enjoying the combo of Outriders and Art of Rally but (there's always one of those not far away) now that PS5 Skyrim's been patched and my save game is back, I think I'm going to polish it off first. Played a wee bit more last night and managed to knock off the last few daedric quests needed for that trophy. Basically all I've left is to kill a load of dragons, finish the main story, then all that's left is a few of the daft ones like get married and escape from jail (probably in there due to the marriage). So reckon I could have it done pretty quickly before returning to the other 2.And in Art of Rally, I've done one stage so often I've somehow managed to be in the top 2% of the leaderboards. Most racing games I'll be down at/or slightly below the 50% mark so I'm pretty happy with that. And I've still about 500 stages to go to get the last trophy, so may be able to eke a few more hundredths of a second off. Though 500 stages on the same track sounds like Grid plat attempt levels of mind numbing

I believe it runs fine. It will be the backwards compatible Xbox one version (without any One X enhancements) but apparently it has a pretty stable 30 fps and 1080p output. It's not 'next gen' in any respect however but more stable than running it on an xbox one.

They just added Mortal Shell to Gamepass.
It's tough to keep up with the things you want to try out on Gamepass. A good problem to have.I almost bought Cyberpunk and the Mass Effect Legendary Collection. Decided to wait on Cyberpunk, and now it's rumored that Mass Effect: Legendary is coming to Gamepass anyway. Another example of why I've all but stopped buying games. I did add another 6months of Gamepass though : )

I think if Mass Effect doesn't come to Games Pass directly it will come to EA play so either way it will be on game pass eventually. Why I didn't bother buying it. I want to play the first again at least - that is one of my favourite games ever - and see after that whether I'm in the mood for the other two.
I think Cyperpunk is still scheduled for a next gen upgrade but they delayed it until next year so I wouldn't hold your breath. Not sure if I'll ever play it - it's on my wishlist but I'm in no hurry. Got plenty to play. My next game is Halo Infinite campaign - I'll play multplayer and Forza Horizon 5 until then.

Finally played my PS5. Rachet & Clank. Have to say, visually it's a wonder. Nothing I've played on Series X so far has displayed this level of fidelity and it's silky smooth. To be fair i haven't really been playing many next gen games on XSX. But I'm extremely pleased I caved. Can't wait to see what Insomniac do with Spider-Man 2.
Ping! Skyrim PS5. Enjoyed playing it again overall, despite it having the same old bugs and glitches it's had from when it was released years ago. Was mildly amused by the way I finished it off - the trophies I had left were get married, get a bounty of 1000 in each of the holds and escape from jail. So 5 seconds of marriage was enough to drive this argonian insane, so killed a few wedding guests and went on a rampage across Skyrim before finally getting arrested. Back to the Art of Rally plat attempt and some more Outriders maybe (was enjoying it but not sure the genre is what I'm after at the minute).
How many plata is that now Deck. This year has been my worse for my plat since I switch from achievement hawing to trophy hawing back in 2013.
Up to 158 now, the past few months plats have been a bit sparse compared to earlier in the year when I seemed to be platting every other week

I've got a few easy plat games to play but no enthusiasm to play them atm. Will get to them one day when I'm after a boost towards 200.
I got a bit obsessed with my PSN Profiles completion %age after watching loads of trophy hunting centric vids on YouTube. I've been working on getting my %age from 70 to 75% which has meant going back to old games and hawing previously unlocked trophies even with no plan to actually plat it.
If you play a new game it immediately drops your completion %age by at least 1% so haven't really played anything new for ages. I have enjoyed going back to the likes of Enslaved and Wolfenstein and eeking out a few ultra rare trophies on old COD games but it's not really normal and has cost me going for plats.
I'm currently at 74.11% in my quest but think I'll put it aside soon. Apparently the holy grail is 80% + but that will be real effort from where I am.

Have a feeling that's definitely something you've got me well beat. I'd be scared to look at mine with the amount of games I play. If mine was anywhere near even 50% I'd be happy, as it would mostly mean that half the games I play are worth sticking with
Ping! Art of Rally. Was thinking it would be well into this week before it would pop but had a bit of a marathon on Saturday and knocked out the 1000 stage trophy. Then again if I'm going to play something else I'd need to think what, so it's probably just simpler playing what I know.

I'm also a huge fan of the State of Decay games, which are Game Pass as well.
