What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?

Unless walking sims are all that's left. There are some bridges you just don't cross
haha.
My bridges are sport (apart from Fifa) ,driving and strategy games.
I have a strange fixation with survival games. I keep buying and end up never playing them. Im 100% sure i´ll have a great time but i never gather enough willpower to start one because i know i´ll be playing it for ages without making proper gaming progress so i feel like i´l be wasting time.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were both amazing.
I still think of them very fondly to this day.
I loved the atmosphere.
I still have Metroid 3 completely unplayed though.
Its amazing how i still have a Wii backlog...

The Switch is a nice console.
But i dont think its a good choice for someone who regularely plays on the PS4/5 or the Xbox.
95% of the games im personally interested are on the other systems, so in the end, why should i play them on a weaker system and not get all those trophies?
I only use my Switch when im on vacations, tbh.

Oh come ooooooooooooon.
You will never know what Skyrim truly is unless you play it on VR.
That alone is worth the price. :P

It will never EVER happen, but a streaming Nintendo service would be the best way for me to enjoy the occasional Ninty game I'm interested in.
Adam - I'm sure Metroid Dread is a nice little game. A 6-8hr 2D adventure is not enough for me to buy into the Switch ecosystem though. Almost everything on the system is a Wii-U port or games I've already played on other consoles.
The best Nintendo console for meis still the 3DS.
I loved that little thing and was really sad when it broke.
Me and my Mrs played a lot of games in there and she still says it was the perfect way to play rpg´s for casual gamers like her.

Not sure what I am in the mood for, which sounds like as good an excuse as any to haw ;)

Deck, i know exactly what you mean.
That also happens a lot to me. I play a game and after a point, i know if i stop playing for a long time im missing the oportunity to play it and will eventually have to start over. So its hard to decide weather to push it until it clicks or just quit.

Every hawing counts to the Way of the Haw!
I hawed Risen 3 the other day despite never having played the previous and knowing its probably a mediocre game so i cant say anything against your hawing.

Indeed.
I never played Crysis 3 actually.
Its the perfect time to do it.
Im actually making good progress on Divinity as of lately.
Im level 6 now and kill almost all the mobs in the west area and im slowly getting really deep in the game.
I started Rise of the Tomb Raider last night but after 10 minutes i went back to Divinity cause i was feeling dat itch.
Edit: i also have dat itch for Biomutant...

I was half tempted to give Divinity another go and had reinstalled it but can't see me getting around to it now. I've way too much to play at the minute

Still, what I really want to do is install Back 4 Blood and try that out tonight after work.

haha.
Thats some serious gaming Error.
Im probably starting Rise of the Tomb Raider tonight as i tried it a little bit last night and the itch is still here.

I loved the reboot but never felt the itch to play any of the others. Probably because i still remember how exhausted i was by the end with all the collectibles searching.

I've never played any of the Crysis games, so they are on my list as well!

Morning everyone.
I have a huge headache today because i spent the entire weekend finding pockets to time to keep playing Divinity.
Im really tired today so dealing with exportation logistics is exactly what i feel up to do the whole day...
I also hawed Crysis 2 and 3 because Adam forced me to it. :P

Had a little break from it at the weekend and played a bit of Crysis 2 and Dungeon Encounters (which is weirdly addictive)
Morning all. After psyching myself up to finish Wolfenstein The New Order on Uber difficulty, the bloody thing wouldn't work. I need to play the unpatched version to make life much easier (although still hard) but it looks like it's not going to work without the patch. Not sure why as it worked fine last week. I'll have one more go at deleting and reinstalling and then might give up. Really annoying.
Hi all. Been playing a load of Back 4 Blood in the last week. Not sure anyone is playing it here as it's cross-platform and a cracking co-op game - if anyone ever gets it here I'd be happy to play it again, even months down the line assuming it's still on games pass or cheap to buy. I've been playing it with randoms and still had a blast with it. It's left4dead with better shooting mechanics, cracking levels, lots of special zombies and the card system really adds something new to make you both more powerful but at the same time makes levels harder (sometimes) with the corruption cards (spawning more special, armoured specials or different behaviours). The dark tone of the game is spot on. Anyway probaly one of the best if not the best game I've played this gen so far. I don't like the PvP but the campaign is superb. There are I think 34 levels and I've got five left to do. I think generally it's been getting 8/10 review scores but for me it's better than that - it's the best of its genre (co-op zombie FPS campaign).

This is what's putting me off it. I saw the size of the map and it looks huge and no doubt an opportunity to fill it full of map markers for pointless quests. That's why I gave up on AC Valhalla - after 30+ hours it felt like I was getting nowhere and just repeating the same mission structure which is OK for a reasonably length campaign but for after 30 hours I was barely half-way through the Valhalla campaign. From what I see Far Cry 6 is only 20ish hours campared to AC Valhalla which is at least 60+. Although I'm hearing Far Cry 6 is chilled out fun so that gives me hope.

Of course better with friends but with randoms I'm having fun. Yea I think £20 is probably the biting point. Not that it's not great just that it's probably only an 8 hour campaign and depends on whether you'll play through it again on harder difficulties. It can be tricky even on recruit difficultly, although not always. If you guys get it on here I'll surely help you out if you want ;-). I'm playing with PC, PS and Xbox players - cross-platform play suits this game as opposed to COD or Battlefield where you feel PC players have the upper hand.

Going to play something else before getting stuck into Crysis 2 & 3 properly so I don't have a shooter overdose. Maybe Dodgeball Academia and Henchman Story as they probably aren't overly long and feel like playing something a bit daft
Morning all
Im facing a two game struggle atm.
Im hooked to Divinity but Rise of the Tom Raider keeps pushing me to play it.
Last night i played 20 minutes of divinity, then 10 minutes of RoTR, then switched to Divinity again and then played another 10 minutes of TR again.
This is really annoying as i end up not commiting 100% to either any of them cause while i play one i keep thinking of the other.
TR looks so gorgeus though. Beautifull game if there is one.

I did have a go with Back 4 Blood one evening. I was wanting to play it like Vermintide, where melee is primary with shooting secondary. Didn't work as well as I might have hoped. Maybe it opens up over time, as I only played the first half-dozen levels. I'll go back to it sometime soon when I can give it proper attention.

Then went to go back to Diablo 2..... and wouldn't you know the patches probably designed to fix the online, seem to have messed up the offline. Offline was fine day one, stuck many hours into it. But yesterday evening every so often the screen would just go blank apart from the Diablo 2 symbol and the cursor. Had to close it down 3 times in the space of 30 minutes, so decided I'll leave it until a few more patches down the line.
So now I'm undecided as to what next. I'm halfway through Crysis 2 so may continue with that
Hey Deck, i admire how you are able to play the oddest games i can think of.
I wish i could do the same cause sometimes i feel like i´ve playing the same type of games for ages.
Im still alternating between Divinity and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Reached level 8 in divinity and im making good progress. As an rpg, its becoming pretty deep and satisfying now. I which the camera was a bit diferent though as i dont like the angle and how little you can see ahead of the party.
Tomb Raider is actually pretty fun too. Visually is stunning and the gameplay is so simple when compared to Divinity that its somewhat refreshing.

You're making great progress Glass. Levels come slowly in Divinity. Some of the story beats are amazing though.
My current game of Xcom is going really well. I restarted again after figuring out how all the side game stuff actually works. I'm completing almost every scenario flawlessly (no damage/injured soldiers). I'm also making much more efficient choices in building up my team and base. As a result, I have top equipment and my soldiers are just that much more deadly. I have a squad of mostly rangers (shotgun/sword) who basically just sneak in and chop everyone down while snipers clean up the mess. Good times. Most fun I've had gaming for a while.

Nah, it's probably the dodgy taste thing
Currently having a "to haw or not to haw" over Disciples: Liberation. Will more than likely pick it up at some point, just not sure I want to be paying £45 for it considering I've a tonne of games to be getting on with

I got an alert ps5 was available on GAME website and out of morbid curiosity I had a look to see what crazy prices they were charging for bundles with all sorts of crap no one wants. Top of the page I got what I expected - ps5 with baseball cap, tshirt, charging station, headphones etc. for circa £700.
But I scrolled all the way to the bottom.... ps5 with £50 PSN credit and an extra controller for ....£469.99?! Wait...that's....a...steal.
Ordered. Got confirmation. Will be delivered in 10 days. Each day expecting a cancellation email. Arrived last week. Still in the box. Can't believe it. Bought Racket & Clank Rift Apart to celebrate.
I definitely have enjoyed the 2 games of back4blood I played on game pass.

That said... I may have hawed Disciples: Liberation and it's pretty good so far. Has a bit of a simplified Divinity feel, with a touch of Pillars of Eternity and maybe a hint of Dragon Age. Only stuck a couple of hours in so far but looks like it's one that'll keep my attention.
Morning all
Reached level 8 in Divinity.
I cleared all the zones in Cyseal apart from the level 8 area where im suposed to find an undead powerfull sorcerer.
Did the Black cove cave last night and the giant crabs were a pain but in the end i managed to clear it without a single death.
Great game!

Edit: im also very very tempted to haw Biomutant.
I have a huge itch to play it...god knows when.
