Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Even if some of Simone Gescheit's pacing is a little wonky, I really enjoyed revisiting one of my favourite 2021 reads, The Dressmakers of Yarrandarrah Prison by Meredith Jaffe, in audio.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Lawyer and former prosecutor Lisa Ellery brings all her expertise into her impressive debut novel, Private Prosecution. I'm not sure if I was meant to, but I found it fast-paced, funny and clever. It will be interesting to see what this Aussie author does next.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments The Story of Climate Change: A first book about how we can help save our planet by Catherine Barr is just what it says. Attractive and surprisingly informative for a children's book. Goes right back to before the dinosaurs. Cute cartoonish drawings.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments This one's for dads, or rather kids with dads. My Dad by Susan Quinn shows a cute little kid with a dad who is a happy, fulltime parent. Warm, fuzzy stuff and nicely imaginative.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Readers may want to book a chiropractic appointment for The Rising Tide, there are so many twists and turns, shocks and surprises before the nail-biting climax in this cleverly plotted second novel by British author, Sam Lloyd. This one definitely lives up to the hype: impossible to put down. 5★s
