Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I was hopeful that Muriel Barbery's fifth novel, A Single Rose would be of the calibre of her first two, but I was disappointed.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I see that some reviewers took issue with the way Simon Brett writes his female protagonist in his new cosy mystery series. I didn't have a problem: I think The Clutter Corpse is an excellent start and look forward to #2.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Amy Stewart's Kopp Sisters series would have to be one of my favourite historical fiction series, and #7, Miss Kopp Investigates might just be her best yet. Luckily, the author says she still has plenty of material for further Kopp Sisters adventures.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I wonder if someone could let Scott Brick know that not every sentence requires emphasis when narrating an audio book? His overacted rendition of Prodigal Son, the sixth Orphan X book by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz, had me eyerolling so much I just had to hope the wind wouldn't change...
5★s for an entertaining story, all the same.
