Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 286 comments Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado

Although not a mystery, this story of survival under extreme conditions was a nonfiction thriller. It also seemed more harrowing because the author, one of the survivors, provided his thoughts and feelings about the situation.

This non-fiction book is about Brian Bechtold, who killed his parents and was put into a mental institution instead of prison. Brian would rather have gone to jail, because an asylum can keep you forever.

Interesting and informative book. 3.5 stars

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 440 comments Am a bit behind, finished The Missing Children - first in the series, I enjoyed it and glad I have the second in the series. Then read Something Wicked - another first in series, but not as enjoyable. Then read Dead Letter Drop - this was the first book Peter James had published and published the year I was born, but it doesn't live up to his Grace series, or his later standalone books. Now reading Look For Me, 20% in and enjoying.

Rumpole reminds me that one year PBS was doing a pledge drive and they had run every episode that was made while they were doing so. I called with my pledge, and in return I got a bumper sticker that read "She Who Must Be Obeyed." I put it on my car, and it stayed there until someone asked me if I was into bondage after seeing the bumper sticker. It was gone the next day.
