Hi Avalyn,

Lovely to hear from you on Goodreads! Thanks for your question. I know i've answered it already on insta but i'll answer here too just in case anyone else would also like to know the answer.

I've no plans for a sequel. I was happy where I left them all (but perhaps that's because i have an idea of what happens next). Maybe one day (never say never and all that) but it's not on my radar at the moment.

My second novel is out next year - and it is quite different to A Million Things. I really needed to challenge myself with something new. Based on the ideas bubbling away for my third book, i think that's probably how i work.

Thanks for your question!

Hi Stephen,
Thank you! :-)
Splinter was in the book right from the start (though he wasn't always called Splinter).
With Rae losing so much, I had to give her an unconditional, loving someone. In my mind, he was always there by her side, a constant warm body, just waiting for her hand on his head.
Thanks for the great question.
Cheers,

“He’s not handicapped. He’s a tri-pawed.”
Emily Spurr, A Million Things

“Lettie nods, like she’s not surprised. “It’s good, Rae. You can’t stay here, in an empty house.” “You do.” She smiles a little at that. “Mine’s a different kind of empty.” “Is that why you keep filling it up?” “Touché.” She pulls her jacket around her shoulders. “I’m old. I’m allowed to pretend. You’re young. You shouldn’t know about empty. Not yet.”
Emily Spurr, A Million Things

“I know you're not one thing. Knowing you is not one thing; it was never one thing. It's a million things. And now the place holding them together is me." the character Rae”
