20.4 - Golden Oldies - Sarah E's task: Silent Night

Silent Night (according to Wikipedia) was composed in Austria in 1818, and is therefore, in first published date if not in length, eligible for a Golden Oldie ticket. It was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2011, and at least according to the Sainsbury's Christmas 2014 advert, was sung in the trenches of WWI in the famous Christmas Truce of 1914.

Read one book from one of the following options.

Required: State which option you chose when you post.

Option 3: Read a book that was originally written in a language other than your native one.
Required: State the original language of your book AND your native language when you post.

I read Clandestine in Chile: The Adventures of Miguel Littín by Gabriel García Márquez, trans. from the Spanish by Asa Zatz. My native language is English.
