I was born in 1960, so coming up with a task about my early days was a fun project. I got to thinking about my family’s first color TV and programs from the 60s that we enjoyed. One that brought a smile to my face was Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.
Let’s pay tribute to Laugh-In by completing two different tasks from these options.
Books with the MPG Childrens may NOT be used for this task.
Required: Identify the options you have selected in your post.
Option 1: There were lots of guest stars and cast members on Laugh-In over the years, but only a handful that I think of as regulars. Read a book by a single author who shares a name with one of these funny people: Dan Rowan, Dick Martin, Judy Carne, Ruth Buzzi, Arte Johnson, Henry Gibson, Lily Tomlin, Goldie Hawn, Jo Anne Worley, Alan Sues and Gary Owens. Spaces determine names.
Names must match exactly but can appear in any position, e.g., Martin Walker would work for Dick Martin. Anne Rice would work for Jo Anne Worley.
I read Fooled Into Thinking: Dylan, the Sixties, and the End of the World by Henry Sturcke, first name “Henry” same as Henry Gibson.
Option 3: Since the show contains multiple sketches, read a book with a MPG of Short Stories or Anthologies.
I read The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, 2016, ed. by John Joseph Adams and Karen Joy Fowler, with “Short Stories” as the second listed genre on the GR main page.
