Janelle, I hope you enjoy your challenge. Of the books you have selected so far I’ve only read one> I will be looking forward to anything you have to say about your reads as the year goes forward.

message 12: by Janelle (new)

Janelle | 848 comments Thanks Bob, I’m enjoying finding the books :)
The 1866 half of the century challenge is going to be a struggle I think!

Bob | 4601 comments Mod
The 1866 half is full of prime time authors, but I'm ignorant on most of the titles. It should turn out OK.

message 14: by Janelle (new)

Janelle | 848 comments I have filled out some ideas, the other challenges wait till the year begins!

message 15: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 5456 comments You have such an interesting bunch of titles, Janelle! So many I'm curious about, and your decade challenge looks excellent. (A Fine Balance is so good.)

message 16: by Brina (new)

Brina Janelle, I want to read A Fine Balance over the summer when I have time (I’m a teacher). Let me know if you want to buddy read.

message 17: by Janelle (new)

Janelle | 848 comments Thanks Kathleen and Brina :) I’m looking forward to A Fine Balance. I found this year I was more attracted to shorter books and stories rather than the big chunky ones so I’m already challenging myself with these lists! I’ve had The God of Small Things on my pile for ages too.

message 18: by Janelle (last edited Nov 30, 2020 01:22PM) (new)

Janelle | 848 comments I’m not the sort of reader who plans out the year, Brina but if it’s still to be read when your summer comes around I think it’d be a great book to do a buddy read, too :)

message 19: by Brina (new)

Brina Janelle, I’m actually a mood reader but there are some books- more the long ones- that sat all year and I want to make sure I get them read next year. If I slot them into a month, they will get read and I’ll just mood read everything else around them.

message 23: by Brina (new)

Brina I will Janelle. I figure I will read a long book each in June, July, and August when I have the time. If July works for you, I’m happy to have a reading buddy.
