A Novel Role-Playing Game

The Local Tavern
That would be a good one to do with little ones- it could almost be set up similar to a scrounger list but somehow ties in the famous people we've lost. Doesn't need to be fancy like the one for Spock was
But if you keep going, you get to use ALL the books you've read since you started! I'd think that's worth it. NancyHelen wrote: "Thanks Morgan. I'm too OCD with getting things all neatly and perfectly up to date to keep going. I reckon it would just frustrate me. 2017 here in Australia (10 hours in, in fact) so new year, new..."

I set up a thread during Wobble, then didn't have time to come back and start playing - so when I got properly started in December, I had lots of lovely books to start off with. Of course they didn't particularly fit in with quests or weapon levels, but it was a nice base to start from.
Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun questing, so thank you very much to the Mods for this awesome adventure. :)
RebeccaS wrote: "BLESS YOU for giving me a use for my millions of goblin bones!"lol RIGHT? I'd stopped killing the darn things months ago. XD Plus, just so perfectly suited to it.
I've been a bit busy to battle anything recently, so I have a bunny egg free to anyone that wants it! It's good until this Saturday.
I'm doing the House quest and I just finished a book that I'm not sure if it fits.
There's a bunch of Fae that live in someone's Court. The court is destroyed and they go live to another Court. Can I use this for "read a book where someone moves houses"?
PS: Also, I plan on doing The Many Voices of Lady Zuzana. We have to read two books originally written in our native language, plus another originally written in a different language.
I have a problem.
I have two native languages. Do I pick just one?

I keep killing them because I can one-shot them and then heal a bit. ;)
Olalla wrote: "I'm doing the House quest and I just finished a book that I'm not sure if it fits..."Kelly might overrule me on that one :)
As for your second question, it's your choice. You can treat both languages as your native ones, and read one of each. You can read both books in same language. But in any case, your second two books can't be in one of those languages (originally written).
I had no idea. I used a book where a character moves from one place (her parent's house) to another place (a flat).I used the dictionary and there was nothing about selling and buying houses:
"move house (v. intr.)
1.move out of one's old house or office"
Yeah typically moving houses just means moving from one home (of whatever type) to another. Just like a simplified way of saying it. Like I went from a duplex I was renting half of to living with my bff in a single family home. But I would definitely still consider that moving house.
I took it the same way as Morgan and Zuzana. What Tea is talking about I would call 'flipping houses'

Yeah, I'd call that 'flipping houses' too. I'd say you're good to go. Moving = moving.

Alright, time to earn an easy 3 exp:Hello, citizens of Novel.
I am Sir Gavin, a new hero, and would be happy to assist you.

K, I have a question to ask:How do I know how many drop bears are left this week? Or any of the other weekly/monthly animals?
Also, when they say that a dragon can be killed once, does that mean every player can kill it once or it can only be killed once by one player?
Gavin, this is a single player game. So unless it's labeled as a community event (e.g. the White Dragon event), you pick your tasks, sell books (Classified), buy potions, hire mercenaries, train your pets, kill the monsters etc. at your leisure. You're not limited or hindered by other players' adventures in any way. All the monsters are there for you to attack whenever you want given you follow the rules pertinent to their type.I think that Kelly explained the different types of monsters and when you can attack them quite well in the Monsters thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
(e.g. There's one drop bear for you to kill in the Sun-Sat time frame regardless of other players atacking their "own" drop bears. The same goes for the rare monsters: there is one (and only one) Jabberwocky for you to kill - no other player can attack your Jabberwocky.)
I hope it helped a bit.
BTW Welcome to the game!
Gavin wrote: "Do Graphic Novels and Manga count?"Hi Gavin, and welcome to adventure :)
Everything counts as long as it has over 100pgs :)
Oh and audio books count too as long as their published form is at least 100 pages. Happy reading/listening :)

Nice one! Thanks for the update Kelly :)
Oh code breaking... lol. Fun times! Just checking my understanding:
So for example my book I just finished has 396 pages.
So 3 + 9 + 6 = 18
Could I also do 3 + 9 + 6 = 18 = 1 + 8 = 9?
in an either/or sort of fashion?
(This is what happens when pirates become adventurers.... lol.)
Question regarding Ser Amanda's Cryptic Paper Quest (don't read unless you've cracked the code)(view spoiler)

Kelly, if you're open to suggestions can we have a quest to commemorate some of the amazing people we lost in 2016?
David Bowie, Prince, Leona..."
Oh gosh. Ok. Will see what I can do. I want to do some more that aren't big groundbreaking ones but just little ones to get potions and xp.
