Ah right. Sorry I forgot it has to be a different character in the same book!! So a series would be a good way of doing this. Yay!

Just wanted to make sure that I was allowed to use the SAME exact character in book to book.

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9625 comments To be honest I wasn't even thinking this way until you mentioned it. But since it isn't specified it has to be different character, I don't see why not.

And since Kelly isn't here, I'll say go for it :)

(Unless someone before asked this same question and got different answer.)

message 8053: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments I think I am probably going to use anthologies, at least for every other book. That way I can link between series (that I already read and don't have enough books left to complete the circle) and I have more choices for character names.

As long as they are 100+ pages they're allowed.

message 8063: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane Yup^ novellas and short stories are fine if they hit the 100 mark

message 8064: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I too have a question, regarding the quest for bed sheets.
Could I use my Orb of Air together with a Find Items Potion to reduce the amount of rat tails needed? This would reduce the amount to 4 for Low Quality Sheet, 9 for Mid and 14 for High if I'm not wrong. I'm not sure so I preferred to ask!

I had that question back when I was doing it, but it was just the Find Items Potion. Not both. So it still helps a good deal in knocking the sheets out.

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments This job is cutting my reading down to practically nothing. lol. Quests will definitely last longer now! (Plus money for more books from all the overtime is good.... #butreadingtho)

That's fine - Find Items Potion is enough after all. Thank you, Morgan!

I guess we're in the same boat about reading. Got a new job in January and I'm still finding it hard to squeeze in some reading time during workdays, so lately I'm even more thankful that audiobooks exist :) All the best wishes on your job!

message 8068: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Yay for your new job!! I'm the same way. I used to listen to audiobooks allll day at work, but now it's just mostly on my commute. It's taking so much longer to get books done. But I agree thank goodness for audiobooks

message 8069: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments That's one thing I really miss about my old job -- I could listen to audiobooks the whole shift.

Now I work at Walgreens so I actually have to talk to people. XD

But shorter commute, good coworkers, and a much better living situation so I'll take it!

Of course half the problem is that I am sucked back into Dragon Age Inquisition again, so lol. It's partly my fault time management wise on days off.

Beth | 503 comments For The Academy quest, does "finish a monthly challenge" just mean complete the first level?

Also I'm trying to use an NBRC Gift Card for that challenge because it looks like it expired. I keep getting an image error but I don't know what the problem is.

I think that's referring to one of the monthly challenges around NBRC -- but I could be wrong on that. I think that's what others used. (I skipped a couple academy quests.)

As for the gift card, I think just noting that you're using it on your thread with the quest is good enough. Sometimes goodreads and images can be a little wonky -- at least in my experience. lol.

Happy questing :)

Beth | 503 comments "I think that's referring to one of the monthly challenges around NBRC -- but I could be wrong on that. I think that's what others used."

Yes, but I'm not sure if I can just complete the first level for a monthly challenge, and have it count as finished? Like, the first level for Marvellous March Challenge is 4 books, but the highest level is 8+.

Oh! Yes that would still work, because you can scale those to whatever amount you like. As long as you complete one level it's completed.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Hey guys! What is everyone working on?

I just got into a weird spring cleaning mood and I'm trying to organize my log better because it's all over the place and I can't find things.

message 8075: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane I'm 2 books away from a pot of gold, still trying to get together the items I need to cast magic spells, and training a puppy. :) I also plan to eventually start to tackle kitchen 2 for those potions, once I finish a few things off my list up there haha. I've been in a bit of a reading slump though this spring it's making it slow going.

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Have another egg up for grabs - good until Saturday!

Trying to finish my shield in the next week so I can do a major battle with Eisdrake. Have it all planned out already and using a ton of my gold and potion tokens for heal potions. Will be epic :)

Can't wait to see that attack Cathy!!

message 8079: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Right now I'm working on activating the gems in my shield and getting some advanced puppy training. I'm slowly one-shot attacking the great dragon each week.

message 8084: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments I am still trying to get my puppy and then finish the alchemy challenge so I can use the pet plus potion.

message 8085: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Nice!! I love how versatile the puppy is!

message 8086: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Cathy wrote: "I am still trying to get my puppy and then finish the alchemy challenge so I can use the pet plus potion."

Cathy, if you need pet plus potion asap and can't complete Alchemy That! quest in time you can get it through Stress Relief quest.

I specifically asked Kelly if we need to unlock the potion first for this quest and she replied that it's not necessary.

So far it's one of two ways how you can get Pet plus potion without unlocking it first. (The other way being killing The Hydra - Pride)

message 8087: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments Thanks for the tip but I am a long way from battling anything at this point. When I use the potion, I want to have my puppy battle ready so I can maximize the attacks.

message 8088: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments I'm winding down for my Eisdrake battle but need to know what everyone thinks - how much of Eisdrake's HP do you want me to leave?

My original plan left about 600 HP but am not sure if that's too much? Or leave more Eisdrake's HP? Or kill him outright? I know some of you battle him when you can and that helps you get some Exp so I don't want to be insensitive to your games.

I plan on doing it on Sunday so would appreciate some feedback!

Also Kelly, the end of Eisdrake will soon be in sight so we'll be ready for whatever's next!

message 8089: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments You are going to be able to do over 7000 HP of damage 0.0

I was hoping to do a large battle soon, but if you can knock it out, go for it!

message 8090: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Yea I currently have 317 gold, 37 potion tokens, level 19 staff. With the Damage Potion, Enhanced Weapon Potion, Pet Plus Potion and Growing Strength Potion, can knock him out if we want.

Here is the working battle plan so far.

But if you have planned a major battle too, I can tone it down and stop much sooner. That's why I wanted to get everyone's input, especially if you already have it planned!

message 8091: by Megs (new)

Megs (meganlikesbooks) | 376 comments Thanks for the heads up Cathy! I will poke it with a stick before Sunday to get the goodies (been waiting to attack for the 1st time)

message 8092: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Holy crap! now that's a battle. I just leveled my staff to 14. I can do about 1008 damage, but not until Saturday

message 8093: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments No problem, I'll back out the last couple rounds and leave about 1500 HP then. That way it will still leave a little bit for one-hits. And unless anyone else wants me to back out more!

message 8094: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Kelly, can we please re-think the Exp needed for some of the higher levels? Please please please!

1530 Exp needed to level up to Level 14 is tough (don't think there are enough quests or monsters to get there), and then after that 2475 add'l Exp needed to get to Level 15 is pretty much impossible...

After my big battles this/next weekend, all I will have left are the zombies and there is no way to even attempt fighting them considering our HP is so low. Or will you be coming out with something to assist with that?

message 8095: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Wow, can't wait to see that battle, Cathy! Will stand by the battlefield and cheer you on. :D

I agree. I would prefer something, an artefact or a potion that either helps exclusively in zombie battles or in fighting monsters exceeding a certain number of APs. That way it wouldn't affect the "lesser" monster's battle to the point that they would be too easy.

• Runner Zombie (#4) - 100 attack 500 HP
• Thriller Zombie (#5) - 200 attack 1000 HP

We would need something to seriously lessen zombies attack power. Or/and something that would allow us to battle zombies bit by bit, similar to Eisdrake.

message 8097: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Thanks Zuzana :) Wanted to do it sooner but haven't been able to activate my gems for my shield. Only have 1 more book to go which should be done tonight!

message 8098: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Or a potion that lets you raise your max HP by a significant amount for one battle or one week or something. I think the max HP is the most inhibitive thing with the unreachable levels.

Also I have no big attacks planned for the dragon so that's amazing!

message 8099: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Eisdrake is now at 1,339 so the end is in sight!
