Review: An absolute fantastic read!! DCI Jack Logan is one amazing character. The story was good, mystery was top notch. I didn’t put two and two together until DCI Logan did. Fast paced. Easy read.
I’m definitely going to be reading more of this series.

Review:
Stacy wanted to find herself after the death of her father going in a Texas valley. There she meet Cord. And... . In the last chapter its all resolved, like most of her books, in the last paragraf all is happy. I didn't regret reading it, but I'll forgot soon this book. The 4th book in this series is about same couple. Maybe I will read it for the challenge.

Review: It took me a little bit to connect with Keri and Jeremy. They did some things that either rubbed me the wrong way or I saw as unrealistic. However, the story did draw me in and I quickly made my way through it. Both Keri and Jeremy have to deal with the intrusion of living in the public eye. I thought they dealt with it well. I did predict who the troublemakers were and really feel like they should have seen it too.

How It Qualifies: #1 in series
Review: This book didn't grab me until the 2nd half. It was almost as if it was written by 2 different authors. Eliza has given the FBI enough info to get quite a few of the Mafia but then has to run because one of them is going to kill her. She is at Nat's ranch pretending to come for a working vacation but really hiding out. I did like these characters so I might give the 2nd book a try.

Book: The Ghosts of Kali Oka Road by M.L. Bullock 9/24/20
Pages: 211
How it Fits: Gulf Coast Paranormal #1

Review:

So this was a bit cheesier that I was expecting, but besides that, I felt it could of been a lot better had it been longer and more fleshed out.

Cassidy has dreams/visions and then feels a strong urge to paint them. She finds a flyer for the Gulf Coast Paranormal and decides to check them out. Turns out they are starting an investigation into a haunting which is the same one that she just painted. Kali Oka Road is haunted by 2 ghosts and a creature. The story starts with a girl being killed by the creature. Years later a man still isn't over the death of his girlfriend and hires GCP to find out what really happened and bring him closure.

The ending was too neat. (view spoiler) That had nothing to do with the haunting and didn't add anything to the story. We never find out what Cassidy's ex wanted. Maybe that story line will continue into the next book.

I think I will try book 2 and see if it picks up, but I have read better Paranormal Investigation books.

Review:
I really enjoyed this first installment in the Amish Shop Quilt Mystery. I loved the small town feel, and how the English woman was kind of shunned by some of the Amish in the town. I didn't figure out who the killer was either until the end. I loved the dog too - Oliver, afraid of birds. I plan on reading more in this series.

Carey Since we're all done, does this qualify us for a free pass?

message 72: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 2364 comments Yes. But I would suggest we don't use it until absolutely necessary.

FREE PASS
✸ Teams will have a chance to earn 1 Free Pass to roll. To earn your free pass your team has to complete their reads a day before the next roll (i.e. 11:59pm Thursday). Once your team has done this you will have 1 free pass. The free pass will allow a team to roll if they are missing a review(s) before the cutoff. Once you've used it, you can't earn another one. It's a one-time shot. NOTE:
✸ The free pass may not be used for the win.
✸ If the player whose review the free pass is covering for has already previously missed a deadline, they must submit the missing review within one day after the deadline if they wish to retain their place on the team.

Review:

I'm digging this series. I got sucked into book 1 right away and this one was no different. We get to see Sam at work as a PI. She has two clients. One she is protecting from her husband who is trying to kill her even from jail, and the other is a man who wants revenge/closure for his murdered wife. Through all this, she is trying to see her kids which her ex-husband is keeping from her. I love how she figures out how to turn her ex's blackmail on him.

I love all the side characters too. Detective Sherbet is going to be a great asset for Sam. I'm rooting for Kingsley but now we met Fang. Well, Sam did. We wont know who he is until book 3....

Review:
I love this story - what can I say. You classic paranormal love triangle between a human, a werewolf and a vampire. Someone loving someone else so much you'd give up anything for them - even your life. I love the interactions between Jacob and Mike at the movies, and then again the interactions between Jacob and Alice at Bella's house.

Updated Sep 2020: This is still a great book in my opinion. The love story between Bella and Edward solidifies, we find Jacob and his friends turning into werewolves because of the vampires that live in the area, and that Victoria is still on the hunt for Bella. Great story and I love when we meet the Vulturi.

Review: I liked this book better than the first in the series. The super loose spin on Goldilocks is really cute. Breena and Osborn were really hot together. Much better story progression in this book. I will definitely be reading the last book. I read this one out of order but with only 4 books it didn't make much difference.

Review: This series is so good. Royce and Marist are having problems and he sells her off to his father to get more shares in the company. This book is about Marist and Macalister (Royce's dad) and how he tries to continually keep Marist under control. And in the meantime, she is trying to handle him and destroy Royce for what he did. I can't wait to get to the final book to see how this plays out. I highly recommend this series.

I've read the first book an year ago, but reading this book made me to remember it. This book was in my opinion very good. The mayn character, the couple, Eve and Roarke was very well contoured. They Romance between the cases will make me for sure to read more books in this series. And about this murder chase. In the last chapter is clearly who thr killer but from my point of view I wanted it to be from the start.
