2 men come back together again after being apart for 10 years each with their own form of PTSD. I liked how they both helped each other through the trauma and the fact they ended with a HEA. Didn't cry though.

Really liked this. A new series set in the 1950s in San Francisco. Nick is a PI, who also happens to be gay and the richest man in San Francisco. He lives with Carter and has a great cast of friends. A great beginning to a new series.

A Sweet Man by Jaime Reese

Well I gotta say I don't which man is referred to in the title because they're both so freaking sweet. What a fabulous edition to the series. I do remember Bull from previous books but am having a harder time placing Ben. I adored both of these men so much and their story was just really sweet. A bit of intrigue, a virgin, hot smexing, great supporting characters. What more could I want. Nothing! Low angst compared to others but still so good.

Review:
This is a cute story and well narrated but I was squirming a bit with the secret admirer story line fraught with misinterpretation and how that might develop ((view spoiler) )
I chose to read this book after finishing the horror story - a bit of lightness and calm. It was certainly that and fit that requirement admirably.
Narrated by Darcy Stark - 4 stars.

A wrong number leads Dalton to Kannon, a young man who gad just been sexually assaulted.
Although a difficult subject, the story of how Kannon started to reclaim his life with the help of Dalton and his family, especially his mom was sensitively done.
There is of course a HEA, but you are rooting for everything to turn out ok.

Review: So, I picked this one because it was on a list for a challenge and Michael Ferraiuolo narrates. What I didn't do? Re-read the damned precis before starting.
Was loving his Scottish brogue, hard, really liking this story...and then (view spoiler) I thought, WTF, is this a fever dream? (Máel Caluim was sick so I thought Aillil caught it.) But no. That actually happened. And we were only at a little over 50%. So I freaked out a little, worried that the rest would be tragic, ran back to read the blurb and was like...oh.
And now I'm wondering if that didn't effect my enjoyment of the rest of the book? I was on track to give this a full 4 stars (maybe more because of Michael) but as much as I appreciated the HEA, it kinda fell flat in the last 30%. (Those (view spoiler) were heart-breaking; star-crossed lovers if ever there were any, and I kept thinking what if those 2 instances weren't the only ones, and how many times would it take?)
I did LOVE that Aillil's younger brother was the facilitator for the Druid spell, thumbing his nose at all the things his traitorous simp of a father tried to beat/scare into them. Plus, there were a couple mentions of Aillil donning his plaid and all I could imagine was Jamie Fraser. So, #Points! for that.

Review: I do so love a story with older, more established & mature MCs but unfortunately the romance just didn't connect for me. It felt almost too convenient, and the push-pull was a little frustrating. BUT, I did love how Charlie was introspective enough to see the parallels between how his daughter and Simon both dealt with emotional pain and wanted to be there for both.
I did LOL at Charlie's slightly intrigued horror at the idea of readers writing fanfic for his books, and if it weren't for me downloading TikTok earlier this month (because fuck Florida Man) and accidentally having all these pre-teen kids end up on my FYP (at the beginning, before the algorithm figured out which side I belonged on) literally crying in despair at the state of the world & how their parents were the definition of FAIL, I probably would have thought that Olivia's outburst a little over the top.
Speaking of Olivia, maybe it's because I JUST listened to another book with a teen pregnancy, I pegged that as a possible plot twist pretty early on, and was sure when she broke up with her BF. On the one hand, yay for Charlie being supportive; on the other...I think I'd give my imaginary left nut if there was ever a discussion of NOT continuing the pregnancy in one of these stories.
Austin Jay(?) did a really good job with the narration, even if I did have to increase the playback speed to 1.35x.
I am going to put both sequels on the TBR because I want to Brian's story and his is #3.

I've decided since I've read all of Lily's books I'm just starting from the beginning and going again. This is still a 5 star for me because it's still funny as hell. Jude screwing with Asa pretending to be stupid is hilarious. Asa's son Billy is wonderful as well. Their little family of weirdness, including the poo passwords, are pure entertainment. Loved it!!

Easy reading with realistic MCs and their expectations and hopes; a fun step up and well executed. Loved the bee focus and the cute names for each of the MCs.

Thanks Lisa - I have started a second book and about 60% of the way through. I was driving last night so had more time on my hands. The time in Brisbane is over for another month at least, so should be ok again for a while :)
Looks like we will have a book to spare :)

Initial publication date, not first Kindle date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use that, otherwise it would be the earliest dated English language edition.
