I haven't read Ex-Machina yet but am curious about it as well.
Nickviola, My Absolute Wonder Woman II is a bit tight but not sure it is as tight as yours.

Yep. It's good. It is not Y The Last Man or Saga good, but its refreshing and has some Vaughan-style twists you may like.

Compendium! Coool.
I enjoyed volume 1, but overall wasn't a fan of Harbinger wars. Kind of lost it's way at the end.

Take into account the name is misleading... it collects in total:
HARBINGER WARS #1-4, HARBINGER #1-14, BLOODSHOT #1-13.

I’m way to deep in the Valiant deluxe format collection to redirect but Harbinger and Bloodshot tie together tightly with Harata and a lot of big picture Valiant universe so it’s cool to have these together. They rely very little on knowing Ivar/Eternal Warrior/A&A/Q&W/XO manowar so it will read nice as a good old fashion Claremontian story arc. That will be amazing if they do the same for XO and put out all deluxes 1-5 and armor wars in paperback.

I will recommend this without reservation. I have loved this series, it is political intrigue with some superhero flavor. The ending could have been better, but the journey is worth it.
I have already bought all the TPBs, so I am not sure whether I will double dip or not; but if you do not have it, this should be a good time to get it all.

Please give the first TPB a try. You will not be disapointed.

But the Omnibus I'm looking forward to the most is '7 Soldiers of Victory' by Grant Morrison. Great storytelling with spectacular art; particularly on the 'book-end' chapters telling the over-arching meta-story, by J.H. Williams III. But each of the '7 Soldier's 4-issue series-within-a-series are illustrated by some of the best artists around: Ryan Sook, Simone Bianchi, Yanick Paquette, Frazer Irving, Doug Mahnke, Cameron Stewart & Freddie E. Williams II.
The Absolute Edition of Sandman: Overture is the big one, though. After the first couple issues came out, I'm pretty sure JH Williams III's work made every artist at DC & Marvel want to bury their pens & pencils in the backyard and run weeping into the night.
I hope they do something special for that one... make it BIG to show off those details, like 11" x 15"

But yes, I’m glad to see their work on Batman is finally being collected in its entirety considering the legacy of Long Halloween alone.
Picked up Teen Titans omnibus v2 and added Robin year one to get free shipping. Thought the price was a little high for four issues but I think I've read that and liked it.

King's Vision - not read yet, but seeing the praise and you guys rooting for it, I had too.
Absolute Sandman II - slowly building up to Overture this summer, I hope my shelves will have enough space
Tomb Raider Archives 1-3 - that's one the comics I read when I was young, so just for nostalgia. Also I guess Andy Park did a good job back then.
The Great and Secret Show (Barker, from IDW) - I kind of like those novel to comics stuff and I have very much enjoyed the novel back then. The adaption is great, it took me some time to get used to the artwork, but in the end I felt that the characters should look exatcly like pictured. Recommended, even if you don't know the original story.

Does anyone else find that the more higher quality indie comics you read the further away you read from the big two i.e. DC and Marvel.
I'm really fussy now.

Nice pickups Karsten. I'm with you on the Tomb Raider Archives; I've got 1-3 and planning to get 4 next week. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure but I loved the games when I was younger and liked Park's art in the initial instalments. Nothing ground-breaking here but they are beautiful oversized books at a really reasonable price point.

Agreed.

Second that.... i'm actually just buying from the "big two" older stuff for nostalgia purpose.... anything newer (for instance "Marvel Now") i'm not getting...

Agreed on all fronts. The big too are getting me with older stuff. I won’t stop buying absolutes; took me years to complete it so I’m going to keep up with it. Other than that, yes buying pretty much only 3rd party stuff. Image has been killing it, love my Valiant, and will occasionally drop into others like Dark Horse, Boom, etc.

I agree on the price of Absolutes. I just love the format though. On the Morrison Omni, isnt it just volume 1? BI wouldnt be included until Volume 2 i believe. Im probably in for those also though.

@Jesse Yes just volume 1 but the plan is to collect his entire Batman run. I think three volumes...?

I'm in the same boat as you. Classic X-Men is the only big 2 book I picked up in 2017. Everything else were Image, Valiant, IDW and mangas.

The big 2 really need to bridge that gap, because they are becoming stale.
What I find frustrating is that I still like the characters and want to continue reading stories about them, but what the big 2 put out is just terrible writing and/or editorially driven, and/or event driven.
I'm meeting my needs by purchasing the "older" stuff (pre-'85 ish) but we're almost to the point where they've reprinted almost everything or what's left is stuff that I'm not interested in.
I enjoy the diversity and risk taking of the Indies but waiting a year between HCs is difficult, requiring a reread of previous volumes, or waiting until everything is released but hoping the money is well spent.

I went to a library book sale this last week and bought 53 books. None of them were graphic novels (I got to that table too late to find anything tempting). I'm set for history/biography/memoir books for the next several months.
The big two's average output hasn't been that great the last several years. However, they still have put out some gems. Hickman's FF4 was great. His Avenger run was interesting. King's Vision is the best thing I've read from him. I like Lemire's Old Man Logan (his Descender from Image is my favorite thing I've read by him so far). There is still good stuff from the big two but it's a bit harder to find with all the other stuff they have coming out (sad to say).
With DC's new penchant for bringing out OHC volumes I've read more DC than before. I have enjoyed the Superman stuff with the other universe's superman and son the most so far. Still need to read Nightwing and Flash.

Snagged the Sam Keith Batman artist edition today. I’m a sucker for his art, can’t wait to flip through the enlarged format.

Those artist edition type books are so cool. I wish I had the Steranko volumes. :) Nice pick up.

He has some other comics hardcovers but for more than IST, randomly these 2 are super cheap.

It was an OK story, but not the best Moon Knight story. IIRC, he manifests the personalities of Cap, Spider-Man & Wolverine in stead of his traditional Spector/Grant/Lockley mindsets. I'd recommend the more modern (Ellis & subsequent) runs over Bendis'.
Zane, you're in for a treat. It's been ages since I read the material, but I loved X-Statix.
