One item I ever had damaged was a light slice in the cover of Black Science about 9 months ago. It happened to be the bound version so I kept it. Otherwise they still seem the most reliable source for me. Sorry for your bad deliveries though, that always disappointing for me.

Thanks. I'm not super OCD about it. But I do want a good product for what I've paid. I think I'll pass on returning it. Been thinking about finishing the series then upgrading to the omnibus. These deluxe hardcovers are so fragile.
I've ordered several of IST damaged books from the damaged books sale. A couple of bumped corners and a couple of them I couldn't find a flaw. The sliced book would very likely be something they would take back as well as the bumped corner book if that is something you want to explore.
I'm not sure if IST will have a better deal on Saga HC vol 2. You may find one secondhand from another seller eventually though. :)
I also ordered the DC Deathblow DLX (damaged) and a Humanoids book (Strange Highway) to get me to $50 today. I am behind a little on a couple omnibus purchases but I'll look to catch back up in the next few weeks.

I didn't know they came out with a deathblow Deluxe! That's still one of my favorite wildstorm books. I'd like to see what you think of it. I may pick it up. The art alone would be worth it. Just got Batman deathblow from the library...
Rel, I returned the smashed cover edges book, just couldn't be okay with that. And the sliced one is Invisibles Deluxe Book 4. Trouble is I just got it after four weeks of backorder and I'm probably going to sell the four and upgrade to the omnibus anyway. So I'm wondering if it's worth returning, waiting for the reship, then sell LOL. Just a pain in the ass considering I live on the west coast so it's a solid 2 weeks minimum.

My humble collection : ) A bunch of trades are missing as I've loaned them out to friends.

Hey, from humble beginnings...
Not to make things harder, but those Invisibles Deluxes look nice on the shelf.
I would think you should return Book 4. If you keep it won't it be hard to sell? Or at least lower the value?

Thanks, guys! I had to customize these shelves to fit the hardcovers. I actually had a bunch more but I've been selling lately. As you can see I'm pretty diehard indie and Batman. Most of my OHCs are from this year. Yeah true, B. Damn it. It's just gonna extend my plans. I'm also hoping to get Doom Patrol omni soon because that is definitely going OOP.

Looks great! Very well done.
I've added a hodgepodge of books recently. My big purchase though is a bespoke bookcase! It's 4-6 weeks away but I'm excited for my books to finally have a home, instead of sitting under the bed and random furniture. I'll share pictures when I can.Funny enough after ordering the bookcase, I feel the inclination to buy less! I want the shelf real estate to be used well (and I really don't want a second bookcase!). I took a look at all my pre-orders for the year and cancelled a bunch of them...realizing that I don't desperately want to collect them. Now I'm more inclined to buy only what I'll absolutely love. For example, The Mighty Thor 3 Omnibus. I'm sure it will rock, but I don't have 1 or 2, and do I really want to dive into Thor? I love other characters and storylines so much more. I want the Simonson reprint for sure, but I feel like that would be enough to satiate my interest in the character. I could also look to Aaron's run if it got an Omni down the line, but I'd consider it later. And my backlog is large enough anyway!
Just sharing some thoughts I've had; now that I've got a finite storage space, I'll save some money! Looking forward to sharing pics and hear your thoughts!
Anyway, I've got these over the past few weeks:
Omnis/OHC/HC:
Batman Knightfall Omnibus 1
Daredevil Omnibus 1 by Brubaker
War of Kings Prelude Omnibus
BRPD Plague of Frogs 1
Tomb Raider Archives 1
Dreadstar: The Beginning
The Surrogates
Some trades:
X-23 Complete Collections Vol. 1 and 2
Mighty Avengers Complete Collection by Bendis
I Kill Giants
Silver Surfer/Rune - completely random trade, but I wanted to find out more about the Infinity stones disappearance following the Infinity Watch

So good to find a fellow Dreadstar fan! I also bough some years ago the Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1 (TPB), and have been waiting for 2 years for the Volume 2 to come out... Dynamite Entertainment is one of the worst publishers that ever existed!

To be honest it's my first jump into Dreadstar! I've read a few single issues which I enjoyed and Jim Starlin is probably my favourite writer. I'll look to get the omnibus trades soon. I've got Vol. 2 on pre-order!
Looking forward to see your new shelves Paul! I think it's a good thing that you were able to evaluate your collecting desires. I've seen many people just "buy everything", just to have them. If you buy stuff that interests you, you should always be satisfied.

I spent a lot of money to get a nice shelf and it was the best thing I did with the intention of just having one, but now i've ran out of space. Eventually i'll have to buy another one.

Now:
Completely full. I'm, stacking books on top of books!
Thanks, Paul. Nice stack. Good luck with the new case. That's the exact realization I had this year, to only buy and keep books I love.
Donovan wrote: "Thanks, Paul. Nice stack. Good luck with the new case. For sure, Bruno. That's why I don't own any Marvel as of yet. Just don't love it enough to own. That will probably change with Wolverine and X-Men when I decide to start down that path. And I sadly don't own any of my favorite Batman in OHC. But I'm hoping to change that this year : )
Sooooo I just ordered Saga Deluxe Vol 2 and Doom Patrol Omnibus. I decided to wait on Knightfall Omnibus until next month when I do a big Batman order to bump up my Bat HCs : )
Donovan wrote: "I feel like nothing could be weirder than Invisibles...right? I'm sure I'll love it."Oh yeah... if you "survived" The Invisibles, this one is a walk in the park :)
I can give my Morrison ten cents - scale from weirder as f*ck to just average weird (from the books i've read):1) The Filth
2) The Invisibles
3) The Doom Patrol
4) The Animal Man
5) WE3
6) Batman: Arkham Asylum - A Serious House on Serious Earth
7) All-Star Superman
8) New X-Men

Appreciate the list Bruno! I'm in the minority here I guess; I really want to like Morrison's work, but currently find it less appealing. I've got 6, 7 and 8 and I think that's all the weirdness I can handle! I guess if I feel adventurous one day I'll read The Filth.

Of the ones I read that you listed, that's about how I would rank them as well. I'd probably put his Batman run and JLA somewhere around #8 also.

LOL nice scale. Yeah I guess I'm in the minority for really enjoying even his weird stuff. Invisibles and Batman (not Arkham Asylum) are my favorites so far. Haven't checked out Animal Man yet.

Don't get me wrong... i'v bought and sold all Morrison books above 5), just kept WE3 and below books. I do not really enjoy Morrison madness...
For sure. See and I'm buying all the wacky Morrison I can get my hands on. You say madness, I say fun. Going from something like Invisibiles to Brubaker can be a bit mundane comparatively.
Relstuart wrote: "Nameless was super weird. Klaus was probably towards the bottom as not really as wacky."
Agreed on Klaus. Vinamarama was weird, maybe 5 or 6 range.
It's been too long since I read Seven Soldiers of Victory but I believe that's near the bottom. Multiversity in the 3-4 range?

Good news. The Absolute Final Crisis I ordered through Barnes and Noble Marketplace actually arrived. Unfortunately, they simply put the book in a very thin paper envelope with minimum bubblewrap. Also, the mail carrier decided to shove it into my mailbox as opposed to bringing it to my door.
Luckily, since the Absolutes come in those special white boxes, it absorbed the dings that would have been on the corner of the book.

oh yeah, cosmic all the way!
hehehe
I´ve a pretty small collection (Lobo, Spider symbiote, Wolverine and Sabretooth), and expecting Venom and Carnage for the end of the year, and Im probably passing on Thanos from Sideshow becouse I couldn´t get the "exclusive" wich is the perfect depiction of him (IG days).
I was mostly an action figure collector for almost 17 years now, and mostly for movies and anime stuff, and being expanding my collection to Legos too, so gotta cut here and there and now Im just getting the ones I REALLY want in my collection.
thanks for the interest.
I don't know if you're a member but Relstuart and I are on statuemarvels.com. There are quite a few people there who like all the cosmic statues.

We've got something in common!! I got back into into collecting comicbooks & graphic novels again with the goal of getting all of Thanos's (and Warlock's) major appearances. And then it just kept going!
It would be great to get your impression on Thor Blood/Thunder when he goes mad...I've not read that one yet. Also Starlin's more recenty Infinity Relatively/Finale was great.
I'm getting my bookcase soon so hopefully I can display these properly (instead of under a bedside table!) Someone's borrowing my Avengers/Thanos tbp and The End tbp, and I know Superior has nothing to do with cosmic marvel, but I needed a hardcover to hold up the TPBs!:

I've already posted this in another thread, but I made a list of all the Thanos/Warlock/Infinity Gem appearances, and how all of those stories are collected. Check it out.
An here's my bookshelf collecting all of that - The only thing that's missing at the moment are the Hickman Avengers stories, which will be added once the omnibuses come out.

Very nice, collection.
Ok, too bad I´ve just started reading them (AvsThanos) so my opinion on Thor Blood&Th might take a while :P

Thanks, I´ll definitely check the "list".
QQ: Are those books (1st pic) in reading "order"?
They are. There's a bit of overlap between Warlock masterworks 2, Avengers vs Thanos, and GOTG solo classic omnibus; and again between Blood & Thunder, and Infinity Watch vol 2.Blood & Thunder gets a bit of a bad rep, it's an ok Warlock/Thanos story, but not a great Thor story. I thought it was OK, but there's certainly a bit of treading water in the middle.
It's not showing up well on my phone, but the thin blue book after Infinity War is the Silver Surfer: Homecoming OGN, which sets up the story for the Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection miniseries contained in the Infinity War Aftermath tpb.
