If the first ff omnibus gets reprinted I'll definetly get it. So does the new avengers tie in with the one I got or is it after the series I got?

The Lion's Share Yeah new avengers, avengers time runs out, avengers world. So confusing sometimes.

message 1153: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments Hickman may be the top writer right now. Outstanding work on Avengers, New Avengers, plus his Indie work.

message 1154: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share Yeah I love Manhattan projects and red wing was pretty cool for a short story.

Manhattan Projects and East of West are all-timers for me.

message 1156: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Manhattan Projects yes, although I haven't finished that series. But EOW burnt me out by Volume 4. Haven't read anything else by him that I can think of.

I missed the boat on this one but I'm not too worried. I'm pretty confident that Marvel will reprint it some day.. perhaps for the Deadpool sequel.

I love Hickman's Marvel work and he is a great writer. I do like East of West he is working on now but still not loving his Manhattan Projects. At least, unlike Brubaker, Hickman hasn't said he won't do superheroes again. While I am not tempted by his next series he is starting I can hope his next project will be one I'm interested in.

I bound all the Avengers World issues and you can skip those without much impact. Avengers Time Runs Out is the OHC with the final issues leading up to Secret Wars of Avengers and New Avengers in one book.

In anticipation of the Avengers by John Byrne Omnibus, I placed an order for West Coast Avengers V2 Omnibus and also got Silverfish HC by Lapham.

Does the new avengers take place after the avengers series or got or does it tie in?

Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers series run in parallel (I believe there are two OHCs per). Then they converge in Avengers Time Runs Out OHC, followed by Secret Wars OHC.

I agree with Rel that you can skip Avengers World (I never read them and didn't have any problem understanding the story.)

Today only, Mark Millar is giving away the collected edition of Jupiter's Legacy V1 for FREE. It's on ComiXology, normally for $7.99. Sale lasts for 24 hours - Starting Fri 24th June, 9am GMT.

You can also buy the DRM-free version on ImageComics.com for $3.99. Looks they are having a sale on MillarWorld stuff here too.

Ok I'm still lost. I'm just wondering if the avengers by Jonathan Hickman I've started reading ties in with the new avengers by Jonathan Hickman or if the new avengers takes place after the avengers. Sorry for my ignorance : /

Those the ones with the breakout of prisoners from the Raft, or the second volume with Luke Cage in charge?

The Red Son where Superman is born in the Soviet Union? I don't know about the deluxe edition but there are three copies sitting in my local comic book store...I didn't think it was that hard to find..

Sud666, the one with Luke Cage in charge is after the one you have now. It is also by Bendis.

Yeah the deluxe version of Red Son is what I've been looking for.

message 1179: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share FYI - can't remember what thread it was in but I've watched Preacher episode 1-3.

I'm really enjoying it. :)

They've made changes but not changes I'd complain about.

Outcast is brilliant. Just like the comic. Loving that.

agreed. I was neutral after the first two Outcast episodes, but I'd never read the comics. But I really liked the third episode. Preacher I've only seen the first, but it looks pretty good so far. I did enjoy the comics though

Donovan- do you torrent? Its on Piratebay or Kickass Torrents....

message 1183: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Yeah I use pirate bay. But I just have a laptop and then a TV with no audio jack. So I can watch it on my TV but the sound runs through my terrible laptop speakers. I either need cable (don't care) or a sound bar.

The actors are good, it's interesting. Invest in apple tv or a tv with USB slot.

message 1185: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Oh nice, I hadn't even thought of USB. But yeah, it's a great comic series. When I have time I'll check out a Walking Dead Compendium from the library.

message 1186: by Fluffyroundabout (new)

Fluffyroundabout | 202 comments I ordered
The Hawkeye ohc volume 1 by Matt fraction
The superior spider-man ohc volume 1 by Dan slott (going oop soon I'd guess)
Scalped deluxe edition book one by Jason Aaron
The uncanny x-men omnibus volume 1 by Chris Claremont
The trial of captain America by ed brubaker

Can't wait for everything here!

message 1189: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Yeah Kirkman has really impressed me with Outcast. I read Walking Dead Volume 1 and really liked it. But I've been avoiding it because of how huge the series is.

I've heard they are usually pretty decent about such things if you contact their customer support. I've yet to do so myself. I opened my Goon vol 3 last night and it wasn't apparent in the cellophane, but the DJ over the spine had a bit of a wrinkle in it. Not IST's fault and I shan't do anything about it but it was disappointing to see.

message 1196: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Haven't returned anything yet to IST. But I know they're strict on returns. Working in books myself, however, damaged goods usually are exempt from ordinary policies. If it bothers you, an email wouldn't hurt.

message 1197: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
Thanks for the responses. With ISTs packaging I'm not sure how it could have been damaged coming to me. I feel it's been too long since I received it to say anything but I'll look more carefully when the shipments arrive.

message 1198: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share I don't buy from ist, but I've complained loads of times for damaged goods. At least 20. I've always either got a discount off my next purchase, my money back or most times a replacement.

Just kick up a stink.
