Read the first deluxe edition and loved it. Have the other two on my TBR.

In the US we can usually pre-order for 40 to 50 percent off cover price. Cover price is (a very expensive) $150 US. It's 31% off ($103 US) on Amazon right now but should be 45 to 50 percent off on IST on release day.

There are oversize deluxe volumes of the this story out but I believe one or more volumes are out of print. I don't really expect them to be reprinted in the near future since DC has committed to printing the Absolute editions.

message 1106: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Boggs (ramkitty) | 91 comments Candada so amazon here is 130 which is exactly exchange value seems like best i can do is buying amazon or chapters/indigo online.
Details for those interested
assuming 45% off @IST on release day 82.5USD

I checked gotham central omnibus to compare and 29$ shipping to canada made it 5$ cheaper than online in country but you dont know whats going on with duties etc.

so shipped from IST assuming same rate would be 143CAD man I hate shipping to canada.

Donovan | 1154 comments No nice collected editions unfortunately. But I do have all but two books of Morrison's Batman run in trade paperback. I have Batman Inc. Vols. 1 & 2 on order then it's complete! Then the plan is to eventually get my favorites of the run in nice editions, like R.I.P. in Deluxe, Batman and Robin in Absolute. I'm hoping his run is collected into an OHC because the artwork is so awesome.

message 1109: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
I did enjoy Morrison's run on Batman. His having him prepared for anything mentality was one that worked well I thought. Batman Inc is only collected in HC in the Absolute edition. The Absolute contains some reworked art that they weren't happy with in the regular run which I think is a bit unusual. I'd like to see one more Morrison Batman Absolute collecting the rest of the run if possible so the whole thing is in one hardcover format. Right now you have to buy in standard, DLX, and Absolute to get it all in HC.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it, too. For Batman Inc. I'm just buying the trade paperbacks for now, and if I enjoy them (doubt I won't) I'll get the Absolutes eventually. I've talked about an Absolute which encompasses Morrison's other Bat stuff and that would be amazing. Odd how disjointed it is.

message 1112: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
I bet Morrison's Bat run would have felt less disjointed with more continuity with his artists. Events were the other thing that caused that I suspect.

message 1113: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments I meant more in the changing format, some in trade paperback, hardcover, deluxe, Absolute. But you're right. Many artists, even in the short Batman and Robin series.

I ordered Irredeemable OHC 2, Saga DLX, and a second copy of Lantern City 1 for a friend today.

I've not checked out Saga yet knowing that it's going to a decent amount of time before the next HC comes out. I know it's gotten good reviews so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

message 1115: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Saga is awesome. There's legitimacy to the claims. And the Deluxe HC makes for some great artwork.

message 1116: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share I only read saga a couple of months ago.

I think people like it because it's more of an adult nature with fantastic writing and artwork to match.

The deluxe is lovely.

Uncanny X-Men Omnibus v3
Thor by Aaron HC v1 and v2

I only have the Uncanny X-men omnibus volume one, but i think the third volume is going to be out of print very soon, given that the second volume is going to be reprinted in October I should have all the three by then.

All good choices. :) It will be interesting to see how fast Uncanny X-Men omnibus 3 will go out of print. Not sure if faster is better for a volume 4 getting printed or not, probably better than worse. Not sure we have any omnibus volume 4s of anything but Uncanny X-Men would probably be the series to do it on.

I hope faster haha, it will be amazing to have more of the Claremont's run in omnibus format. Also, considering how hard is to get the hardcovers that follow volume 3

Fluffyroundabout | 202 comments My Amazing spider-man by Stan lee came in the post today and as I have mentioned it is my first marvel omnibus. I've never seen one in real life so I never expected what arrived at my doorstep. It's so HUGE! I just stared at it for 20 minutes and then put it with my other comics on my shelf. Nice pick ups everyone. :)

Fluffy, glad you are so please with your first omnibus. It is really great to have a long run of something to sit down and read though. :)

Frank, some nice pick ups there. I was going to pick up Secret Wars Last Days of the Marvel Universe but they didn't have it at half off and I wasn't sure I would like reading the end of multiple creative teams runs on their characters when I hadn't read any of the rest of their run.

Not sure if you saw, but DC just announced they are releasing a Batman Knighfall omnibus early next year.

Alistair, I read the first Mind MGMT book and thought it was decent but haven't ready anything past that. I look forward to your thoughts on the rest of the series.

I have been watching Colossal Conan for almost a year, there has been a huge price variance on the item. I was able to strike when I was finding that there were several for sale simultaneously, and was able to get it for $250 in excellent shape, perfect spine.

Rel, I thought I'd pick up Secret Wats Last Days for the heck of it for another time.
Of course I missed the DC annnouncement, and thought I'd pull the trigger on Knighfall, that figures, as I will definitely pick up the Omni!!!!!

The Lion's Share Frank, I gave volume one 5 stars. I'm in love with it.

It's about a worldwide conspiracy. Very far fetched but interesting premise and great characters. Can't wait to tuck in to the rest.

I've still got a lot of omnibuses to read and haven't been arsed selling any yet! They look too pretty on my shelves. :D

I'm going to hold off on the Bond HC. I'm going to wait and see how long Ellis stays on it. Did we ever confirm it was standard or oversize?

I thought there was something I was going to pick up this week but I don't see anything.

Looks like the Bond book is standard size. It's also volume 1, so I expect the story won't all be in this book. Normally, this would be a TPB if it was Image. So, not sure if the chances are as good for us getting a bigger HC edition later.

Northlanders never had a OHC edition as per my knowledge. It is a good sign though that vertigo is now printing multiple TPBs in one softcover edition. Maybe they will print OHCs next.

I've enjoyed his Avengers work. His FF4 run was brilliant.

Hickman also wrote New Avengers at the same time it's worth picking up and reading with the Avengers run. The Infinity event OHC has the same content as one of the OHCs so it's one of the other if you plan on picking up his while Avengers run.
