Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments I’m not going to make the cutoff so I will save Sun Down Motel for next week.

It still says date not set on the shelf, but your review date changed to July 10th 2020 on the main page, so it might be a temporary error.

Kim | 68 comments hey y'all, since we have 2 K's for every completion, i thought this list that includes titles that start with K would be helpful

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Silje, when I went on my phone it looked like I hadn't read it so I added it as read again. Anyway, I think I got it fixed now. Can you look and let me know, please?

Home safe and sound after 7 1/2 hour drive, then another 1 1/2 hours to get our dogs. Ready to relax and read tonight. lol

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Thanks!

Another question (LOL sorry): I have a book I'm going to read and it has "exploring in the ocean" tagged by only one person (not me). Would that work for our tagged word of "ocean"? If so, do I somehow also need to link it to that page?

Also, there is "dragons-mermaids" so would that work? Tagged by 1 person (not me).

message 416: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments @Vickie, sorry, but the tags need to be accurate, only singular/plural versions are accepted (mermaid/mermaids, etc.)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Silje wrote: "@Vickie, sorry, but the tags need to be accurate, only singular/plural versions are accepted (mermaid/mermaids, etc.)"

No worries, I wasn't sure. I thought it might work but if not it's all right.

message 418: by Ashleigh (last edited Jul 12, 2020 07:09AM) (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Rajiv I've moved your book A Cornish Daisy's Kiss to S.

You can't use it for Kiss because it has to be the first letter of the title, unless the title begins with A/An/The, then you can use the second letter.

message 419: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Also Rajiv, I believe you can only use each task once and as you've used 'Read first book in a series', I've moved your book Nightmasters to task 121 - body of water on cover.

message 420: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments I finished my DQs (and the book) for Sun Down Motel. Here are links to my participation:

Msg 73 - Day 1
Msg 236 - Day 3
Msg 237 - Day 4
Msg 238 - Day 5

The timeline for this one got off because the Day 2 questions were delayed and then I thought I had answered them but I guess not. But I think we only have to have a minimum of 3 days participating for points anyway, right? If I need to complete it let me know and I'll go back and do them.

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments @Logan, yes that is correct=)

message 423: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments Vicki, you've chosen task 32, "Read a book with "morris dancing" (variants like dance/dancers OK) in the text" for your book Accidentally Demonic, but you're reasoning only says it is dancers in the book. In order to use task 32, it has to say "morris dancing/dance/dancers" in the actual text. If that is the case, can you add the page or % in the reasoning? If this isn't in the text, do you have another task you can use instead?

message 424: by Silje (last edited Jul 14, 2020 04:38AM) (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments A tip for the tags: It looks like four of the five books in the Percy Jackson-series is tagged as underwater (some of them are also tagged ocean=P), as well as Red Queen, Divergent, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,Empire of Storms, and Teardrop. Just in case anyone wanted a re-read or had planned to read some of these books during the challenge=P

For Turtle and Whale, there are less than 200 books on the list, so those are easy to go through and check for possible books.

No, I don't think it had "morris dancers" and I have NO idea what that is. LOL So when it said, "variants like dance/dancers OK" I thought just plain dance or dancers was OK. I'll have to look to see, but if not I'll change my task. Sorry about that!

message 426: by Vicki (last edited Jul 14, 2020 09:49AM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Silje, in retrospect, I'll let you add my other task because I don't want to confuse you and mess up what you have in red. OR you can give me the go ahead and I'll do it.

I used task #86 Read #4 in a series, and it's #4 in the Accidentals series

message 427: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments I have no idea what it is either=P you can add the new task, as long as the text in the captain colomn stays the same, we understand that it has been fixed.

Megan (meganraex) | 1031 comments Hahaha Morris Dancing is a traditional English folk dance. You will often see them at summer fairs and carnivals.

I looked it up. lol I had no idea it was a specific type of dance.

Silje, the book I just posted is Accidentally Catty and I used it for task 19 "animal word in the title." If that doesn't work, I'll find something else. I would think it would be okay.

message 430: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Vicki I'm just double-checking with the captains that it works for animal in title. I would say yes as it clearly refers to a cat, but just to be safe :)

message 431: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments No worries, that's why I asked. If not, I'll find another task it fits. I hope. LOL

So far it looks like they are leaning towards "no" on catty. Did you have an alternative task?

message 433: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Yeah it's not looking good for 'animal in title'.

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments Maritza, for Below the Belt you've written C: Author for reason on letter A. Does that mean there is a character named Author? (Just checking=))

message 440: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Round 3 ends on the 24th, right? I'm reading My Dear Hamilton rather slowly due to other challenges (thanks Olympics) lol so I want to make sure I finish it on time. It has SO many characters' names that can be used. I'm halfway finished.

Yes, the deadline is 10 pm UK time, July 24th, a link to the timer is here. As before, we set our own deadline an hour before this, 9 pm, so that we have time for move books around if necessary.

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments We're over halfway in round 3 and you guys are doing an amazing job!

I noticed that we have placed books on 8 words, but we only have Y-books for 4 (Rajiv and I are reading 2 and 2 are done already). Does anyone plan on reading Y-books? Or can any of your read books be used for a Y instead?

If you need Y-inspiration, the Hitchhiker's team has read 27 Y-books, so go check out their spreadsheet;)

message 445: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 182 comments I listed a poetry book which I did the audio of and can confirm it's 5 hours and 32 minutes. Link

message 446: by Sophie (last edited Jul 19, 2020 09:39AM) (new)

Sophie | 182 comments Also I just added 2 more Y books :)

Couple of quick questions, when does this round end? Hoping to get The Night Tiger from my library next week which would be another Y.

And would The Wolf of Oren-Yaro count as a Y since the Y is in the title? Or does it have to be the first word?

Sophie | 182 comments Silje wrote: "Sophie, how was Children of Time? Did you like it? I've been wondering if I should read it, that's why I'm asking=)"

It was really interesting! I feel like a lot of it went over my head so I definitely plan to revisit it at some point. I didn't really feel super attached to the characters but the plot was so unique and the ending paid off imo.

message 448: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments Great Sophie. The link to the count down is in one of my posts higher up on this page, but the round ends the 24th, 10 pm UK time.

The Wolf of Oren-Yaro won't work, it has to be the first letter in the first word (or here, the second).

Thanks, again! lol Another question: for task 118, told in multiple points of view, does it work for 2 POV's or does it need to be 3 or more?

message 450: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Vicki, your book Accidentally Ever After is down on the ss for circles on cover. I don't think the book will work for that task as I'm assuming the circles need to be distinct circle shapes and they would need to be prominent on the cover.

Do you have another task for this please?
