My name is Rajiv and this is my first Wheelathon I am taking part in :-) I am super excited to be part of the team!!
I am planning on reading below letters for the first challenge:
L: Last Girls by Demetra Brodsky
I: Incendiary (Hollow Crown #1) by Zoraida Córdova
I'm confused about the tags though and wondering how that would work ? Does it add points? :( So sorry for the random questions. Would love it if someone could help me out :)

Ashleigh or I will move things around if necessary, don't worry=)

Welcome=)
The tags will give 5 extra points on 10 books in total each round. Ashleigh has posted in one of the first posts links to the list of books for each tag. If you read a book from one of these lists, you earn points for a tag.
The tags are basically random words people have used as shelves for their books=) Space and France are used quite often, whilst Battle, Flower, and Lavender are not used that much (many books are shelved only once or twice).

I think I am going to start with

I'm not the only one? lol

I don't see your name or anyone's name. Do we have another SS somewhere?

Vicki the planning spreadsheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

@ashleigh, perhaps you can add a link to the planning document in one of the first posts as well?

Today is our start day, right! Woo hoo!! I might not get anything posted until tonight (it's 6:50 AM here) because my husband is off and he want my help doing some more organizing, but I'll do my best. Saturdays and Sundays are my best reading days in general.
I just looked at the countdown clock and we still have 6 hours 45 minutes approximately before we can START reading our books for this challenge. I'm glad I saw that because I almost began a book after midnight my time last night but I was into another book I'd already started, but I fell asleep reading and listening to it. lol I know where I left off because I had my ebook. I fell asleep at 32% and woke up at 48% so now I have to go back. I hate it when that happens! lol

I'm curious what everyone else thought about it if you've read it? I love the idea behind it and the last few pages made me want to read the next book... but before the last chapter, I really never got hooked. I was drudging through it and trying to rush so I could start a new book when the challenge started. I've seen so many people who loved it though!

Vicki I can't remember where I read it, but I think I saw somewhere that they did it intentionally so people would interact with the other teams.

Thank you Rajiv, I'll add your shelf to that comment now.

Yeah, that makes sense. At first I thought it was an error, but then when I saw the last ones so close together I figured there was a reason. If we read a recommendation, I assume the number we pick doesn't matter or should we put all of the ones that it fits even if they're the same task? So if I read a book recommended by someone in a different team, I'd only put one and not all 8 numbers, right?

Oh I loved Scythe! I thought it was such a cool concept and kept me hooked the whole way through. I think the first one was the best in the trilogy though so if you weren't that keen on the first one I don't think the second one will change your mind all that much.

Okay, but we are adding all the tasks for one book that we can just in case you move things around, right?
We can finally start reading our books in one hour, 15 minutes! Woo hoo!

I love Scythe too and I just finished Thunderhead and loved it as well.

Whether or not you add all the possible tasks on the sheet while reading is up to you really, as long as there is only one when you're done with the book. Everyone has an individual tasklist (the same list, but one each), so as long as you keep tabs on which task you've done and not, you decide how to plan them. That's why everyone has a personal column at the task tab on the planning sheet; you can mark which task you've used=)

OHhhhh, I didn't quite understand that one. Okay, that helps a lot then! Thanks.

I'm always staying up too late! Thursdays and Fridays are difficult because my husband is off and (prior to the pandemic) those are our errand and shopping days. But now they are our organizing and house cleaning days, plus watch some "our" TV shows. He has his, I have mine, we have ours. LOL

Happy to help;)

i'll be starting the first book (throne of glass) in a day or so! let's compare notes :)

It is truly very, very sad and it probably isn't the best time to read it; however, keep it on a priority list for better days because it truly is a quality book!

On the Main Page (MPG) on the right side under GENRE at the bottom it says, "see top shelves" and you just click on that.

@Vicki: It looks good, just remember to add a read date as it is that column which triggers the points for the letter=)
I will double-check it in the morning, as it is 3 am here (as predicted, I stayed up late), and my eyes can't be entirely trusted=P

Also, on the tasks sheet, when we record a task do you ladies want us to put the number of the task under our column with our name or a check mark?

Plans change, no worries. I can totally understand that you want to read happier books! Let me know what you think of Throne of glass and the series in general, I've read it a few times=)

Something I didn't realize last night when I checked your finished book: You don't have to fill in the page- and task points yourself. When you fill in the read date (and task number+justification), a formula will add the correct amount of points for you, based on the number of pages you've added before. Also, we don't get points for the letters themselves, so I was wrong earlier=P We get points for one completion of the word; the rest is based on page amount, tasks, tags, and BOMs.

Also, on the tasks sheet, when we record a task, do you ladies want us to put the number of the task under our column with our name or a checkmark?"
A simple checkmark is fine with me, but if you want to add more or use something else, that is no problem, as long as it is easy to see which have been used and not.

Glad you found a book to start with=) As long as it fits one letter, it is good enough;) I added the T as well for your book: If a book begins with The, A, An, etc., you can choose whether to use the first letter in the first word (T in your case) or the first letter in the second word ( H for you, which doesn't work for us).

Gotcha =) Thank you Ashleigh
Hi team! Sorry I've been MIA... exciting news, I got a new job a few days ago so I have been dealing with all that stuff.
So, I have two books I will be starting (one today, one tomorrow... I always have 2 books on the go at once). I saved the planning spreadsheet (which is super fantastic!) and updated my books where I could.
My question is the task list. Sorry, blond moment but I can't locate that.
My two books are:
Please See Us by Caitlin Mullen - added for 'L' as a characters first name is Lily
The Bad Boy of Redemption Ranch by Maisey Yates - added for 'B' for the title
Is that correct? Please let me know :)

CONGRATULATIONS!! What kind of job is it?=)
The task list is on the "tasks"-tab on the planning sheet (and the proper team sheet as well) =)
Yep, it is correct;) You can also add additional letters the book works for if there is any.
