Hi Kat - do the lips need to be human, or can an animal's lips count?

Thanks!"

Sorry, I should have specified that. Yes, they need to be human lips. 💋

MountainKat | 31636 comments Well, I've already found one error from the end of the last date. If my records don't match yours captains, please let me know!

I know I've been grumbling about the heat, but I don't function when it's hot - at all! Our house finally dropped a half degree below 80 at 11 last night. 😳 That's inside my house! 😱 So mistakes would not surprise me!

MountainKat | 31636 comments 🌹The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 4🌹
🌹Theme - Second Chance Romance🌹

Date 6 - L

L is for Loner
- Read a stand alone book..

To qualify for this task, the book can not be listed in any series on GR. When I look at the main book page, there can be nothing where the series is typically listed and when I look at other editions of the book, none of them can be listed in a series either.

Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!

You have until Friday, August 7 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).

Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

Yes, the audible or Amazon link is allowed for the audio edition if it isn't included on GR. I thought I included that in the qualifications, but I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MountainKat | 31636 comments Hi all! I hope you are safe and sane - I know that is asking a lot these days. 😳

I understand that many of you may still be dealing with the effects of Isaias and may not have power before the current date ends. I can't extend the end of the date, but I can make allowances for your completion posts to make it easier if you only have your phone or other device for posting. You can make your completion posts without links if necessary as long as all the required information is included. Please include the author's name if you aren't including a book link so I can find the correct book! Captains (or any teammates really) can repost with links for members as well - and that would be appreciated. 😊

Stay safe everyone!

MountainKat | 31636 comments Date 7 - O - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 7.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

O is for Occiput - Read a with the back of someone's head on the cover.

To qualify for this task, the cover of your chosen book need to clearly and obviously show the back of someone's head. The occipital bone is the part of the skull at the back of the head, above the neck. (Is the midwife in me showing?) This is what I am looking to see. It can not be covered with a hat or anything else, hair is, of course, ok. Profiles will be allowed if the cover model is looking away more than they are looking forward. A true 50/50 profile is not acceptable.

O is for Ocher - Read a book with a primarily earth tone (yellow - brown - red) cover.

To qualify, the book's cover will need to be primarily shades of yellow, brown and red. These earth toned colors need to be predominately what you notice when you look at the cover. If in doubt, please ask.

O is for Ogle - Read a book with at least one naked or nearly naked person on the cover.

To qualify for this task, the book's cover needs to show at least one naked or nearly naked person. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of skin for this task! If they are wearing enough to get service in a restaurant, they are wearing too much to qualify for this task.

O is for Opponents - Read a sports romance book.

To qualify, your book needs to be a sports romance. This can be evident in the precis, title, series, tags or lists. Remember, you need to let me know how you know the book qualifies - simply saying 'hero is an athlete' is NOT enough.

message 369: by Grace (new)

Grace | 1731 comments I'm trying to gauge how much needs to be seen for naked so I was wondering, if the cover cuts off half the body would that count? For example

What Lies Beneath (Enigma #1) by Ditter Kellen or A Nordic King (Nordic Royals, #3) by Karina Halle

Or how about if they're wrapped up in a sheet?

Highlander Most Wanted (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #2) by Maya Banks

Blindsided (Fake Boyfriend #4) by Eden Finley

message 372: by Christina T (new)

Christina T (crysteena73) | 1703 comments Adding to Grace's question.... I'm wondering about all the covers with shirtless men. I don't necessarily consider them mostly naked.... just half. They definitely wouldn't get served in a restaurant without a shirt though.
Forever Only Once (Promise Me, #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan Under a Vampire Moon (Argeneau #16) by Lynsay Sands Nobody but You by Megan Green Darling Beast (Maiden Lane, #7) by Elizabeth Hoyt
I'm going to stop there but honestly I could post hawt man covers all day and I'm pretty sure you got what I was saying without the visuals. But they can't hurt, right 🤭

After dissecting this image, you can tell the little girl is standing off the his side and he is looking down at her - so he is looking away from you on the cover and it works.

Phew!

The first one doesn't work, they are wearing too many clothes. The others do work though.

message 388: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31636 comments Hey all - I wanted to share something that came up with all of you.

Those filler covers that are used on GR and other places before the real cover is released are not allowed for any of the cover tasks!

Yes, but she is still facing forward and her chin is in front of her shoulder so she isn't looking away from you (as you look at the cover) enough. She needs to be looking more to the back than that cover shows.

Doing better today, most of the mold (on the old flooring) is out of the house and hubby hasn't sprayed more bleach yet though that is probably still necessary. I've been avoiding that space today because yesterday was pretty miserable. Thanks for asking!

As for your question, yes that works (in context - always the disclaimer). Make sure you let me know how you know - I need to know where to look. 😊
