Hey MKat, for Abduct in A, it necessarily has to be MPG mystery/suspense? Or would a shelf work, if more than 1 person has shelved it?
Apoorva wrote: "Hey MKat, for Abduct in A, it necessarily has to be MPG mystery/suspense? Or would a shelf work, if more than 1 person has shelved it?"This task calls for MPG.

Okay, thanks! 🙂
MKat, for the next date only the first edition of the book needs to be published on April or any edition will do?
If a book has a mystery tag on first page when i read it what happens if it slips to page 2 when you check

Is this the exciting & exiting

Yes
I did ask earlier ..said two different words , but i did reply and think it may have been overlooked ( #67) I think its a spelling mistake
Janeylou wrote: "Its difficult with tags though as there has to be a cut off line"I didn't think it would be allowed, but this next letter is hard to find SH books for so thought I'd try my luck :D

glad to see it's not just me! i have found so many that fit 3 items, but then that 4th is just not there! =)
I have not been able to find one as well though I did but it was a bust INever mind found one or rather found for me 😂😂
Tink Magoo is bad at reviews wrote: "I've given up now. April is clearly not an exciting book producing month"I was thinking the same think 😂
Nayara wrote: "MKat, for the next date only the first edition of the book needs to be published on April or any edition will do?"Initial publication will be the qualifier.
Janeylou wrote: "If a book has a mystery tag on first page when i read it what happens if it slips to page 2 when you check"I check daily, so I doubt this would happen. But I could make an exception after some research, it would depend on how the numbers look though.
As for spelling - if it is a different word like exciting and exiting, I just can't assume it is a spelling error. If it is an abbreviation though, that would be different.
I will be posting the qualifications for A later, meant to get it up earlier but life keeps distracting me! And it always seems to be more important to update my tracking first... 🤷🏻♀️
Hi Kat - I can't remember, nor find where it is detailed. Does the Captain's tracking post also need to be finalised by midnight, or is there some leeway?(I'm going to be outside working and won't be able to update our team's tracking lists until tonight :(
Thanks!

Whenever you get it done is fine. 😊
Phew! Even getting stuff done tonight will be a stretch from the sounds of our day!! Will do my best though 😍
Date 2 - A - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 2.Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
A is for Abduct - Read a book with 'Suspense' or 'Mystery' as MPG.
To qualify for this task, the book has to have 'Suspense' or 'Mystery' as MPG. The specific words can be alone or combined with other words such as "Romance - Suspense' - there, both your MPG qualifications in one! 😊
A is for Afterlife - Read a book tagged as 'PNR', 'paranormal', 'vampires', 'zombies' or 'ghosts'.
To qualify, the book needs to be tagged specifically 'PNR', paranormal', 'vampires' or 'zombies'. Tags can be combined in context. Please make sure to provide the exact tag you are using to qualify with a link to the 'top shelf' page with that tag. Also include how many times it is tagged and what page number of shelves.
A is for April - Read a book initially published in April of any year.
To qualify for this task, the book's initial publication date needs to be in April of any year. If the book has a 'first published date' use that. If one isn't listed, I will be looking for the earliest listed publication date.
A is for Arousing - Read a book tagged 'exciting'.
To qualify, your book needs to be tagged at least once as 'exciting', 'arousing', 'compelling', 'powerful', 'exhilarating', 'explosive', 'hair-raising', 'mind-blowing', 'shocking', 'stimulating', 'rousing', 'adventurous', 'erotic', 'sensual', 'action-adventure', 'action-packed' or 'thrilling'. Variations on those words will be allowed in context. 'Excited' by itself will not qualify, nor will anything that does not apply to the book itself like 'excited to read'. I will allow thrilling, but not variations on that as 'thriller' is its own genre.
Kate wrote: "Hey Kat. Would you consider a book tagged adventurous as counting for A is for Arousing?"Sure, that fits - I will edit the qualifications post. 😊
MountainKat wrote: "Kate wrote: "Hey Kat. Would you consider a book tagged adventurous as counting for A is for Arousing?"Sure, that fits - I will edit the qualifications post. 😊"
Thanks! 😁
As combined tags are accepted , would the fillowing workFantasy -paranormal
Shapeshifters-paranormal
As long as parnormal in it
MKat if the details of the book actually show first published as April but there is an edition in March too, then would it be accepted for April? Also would action-adventure or simply adventure qualify for A for arousing?
Janeylou wrote: "As combined tags are accepted , would the fillowing workFantasy -paranormal

Combo tags are allowed in context! PNR or paranormal on their own will be allowed, but throw in anything that doesn't work with the afterlife and I will investigate. Shapeshifters in general don't fit the afterlife theme and would disqualify that tag. Also, fantasy does not necessarily imply anything to do with 'afterlife' so that would depend on the book. I am VERY picky about combo tags - see my answer in the Q&A.
I am going to allow 'erotic', 'sensual', 'action-adventure' and 'action-packed' for A is for Arousing.Arousing was already on the list.
Anything other that those, please check with me first! I will edit the above post shortly.
